Catherine (カトリーヌ Katoriinu) is Pandora's fiancée (lover in the manga).

Before the events of
Battle City,
Pandora was a world-famous magician. Catherine was his fiancée at the
time, whose love was the only support for him. When Pandora was badly
injured during a failed escape show, he drove her away because of his
despair over losing his looks and career, hurting her deeply. He did
regret this act of his later on, as he realized how important she was to
him. He wandered around until he met
Marik Ishtar, who was willing to help him reunite with Catherine if he fulfilled a certain task. In the
anime,
Dark Yugi
explains Pandora that he should trust his love and tell his feelings to
her, but Pandora explains that Yugi is a kid who would not understand
anything.
In the manga, Catherine's name or backstory is not mentioned. Marik
simply mentions that Pandora was thinking of committing suicide after
his lover's death, who died in an ill-fated magic trick.
