Cronos de Medici (クロノス・デ・メディチ Kuronosu de Medichi) is the head professor at Duel Academia. He is extremely flamboyant, and although a first he is highly strict to all but his favorite students, he eventually changes his tune.

Towards the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX, he has a great dislike for all Osiris Red students- so much that he goes to lengths to get Judai Yuki and Sho Marufuji expelled. During Season 2 he begins to appreciate the Osiris Red students more, and at the beginning of the fourth season he grows to appreciate every student at Duel Academy. In return, he gets respect back from them. His deck is an Antique Gear Deck.

At the beginning of the first episode, Cronos administers some entrance exams and one of them was up against Judai Yuki. Although arriving late, Cronos dueled him for Judai's duel part of the exam. Chronos believes that Judai will lose since his test scores were so low, but Judai defeats him in the end. This causes Cronos to hate all Osiris Red students, mainly Judai, for most of the series. He tries to do anything to get them expelled. He writes a forged love note to Judai from Asuka Tenjouin hoping he would go there and get caught. This plan backfires when Sho Marufuji falls for the trap and Judai rescues Sho. When Judai, Sho, and Asuka are inside the abandoned dormitory, Cronos found out and ordered them to be expelled. The other dorm heads and Samejima then had Judai and Sho duel in a tag match against duelists of Cronos choosing and if they lost, they would be expelled. He chose the tag team of the Labyrinth Brothers. Despite being a strong tag team, they lost and foiled Cronos' plan once again. Later on, Cronos was accused of stealing Yugi Mutou's deck that was on exhibition. Judai ends up defeating the real thief, Kagurazaka, and he returns the deck to clear Cronos.
When the teachers and Samejima were choosing the person to fight the North School Academy duelist in the duel, Cronos suggested Ryo. Ryo ended up turning down the offer and suggests Judai to duel instead. Cronos didn't want Judai for there duel representative and chose Misawa instead. Judai ended up defeating Misawa in the duel making Cronos mad.
When the Seven Stars showed up, Cronos was entrusted with one of the keys. When the second of the Seven Stars, Camilla, Cronos dueled her. Despite all of his efforts, he loses and gets turned into a doll via Camilla's necklace. Ryo ends up the same fate as him until Judai defeats her and sets them free. When Daitokuji disappeared all of a sudden, Cronos stepped in as a temporary Alchemy teacher.
Later on, when Hayato gets accepted at Industrial Illusions for job as card artist. Cronos objects to this. Cronos then says that if Hayato was to successfully defeat him, he'll accept it. Hayato ends up losing the duel, but Cronos ends up recommending him for the position at Industrial Illusions.
