[edit] Personality
Nothing is revealed about Cyndia personality-wise in the anime and the manga, although she seemed friendly to Pegasus when she met him during their childhood. However, Takahashi received a fan letter asking him what Pegasus' ideal woman would be like, to which he replied that after Cyndia died, Pegasus didn't look for anyone else. Takahashi stated that "in short, she is a very calm and well raised woman".
[edit] Biography
Cyndia was the daughter of a businessman, who was friends with Pegasus' father. Pegasus and she met at a social function when they were both 10 years old, and quickly fell in love with one another afterwards. They vowed to be together forever, but at the age of 17, shortly after Pegasus' 17th birthday, Cyndia died of an undefined illness.
She is next seen as an illusion created by the Millennium Eye's "evil intelligence" when Pegasus receives the item.
A portrait of her can be seen at Duelist Kingdom in the dining hall of Pegasus' castle, along with a painting of Shadi. In the anime, the castle has a special tower, which houses a sanctuary, containing yet another painting of his beloved.
Pegasus created a card of Cyndia, referred to as "Cyndia's Card" in the anime. (シンディア・の・カード Shindia no kaado) The card itself has no name or description printed on it, except a picture of Cyndia. He planned to use it for the creation of a lifelike projection of her with the help of Kaiba Corporation's Solid Vision technology, but his plan never came to fruition because Yugi defeated him in a duel.
[edit] Other Appearances
A portrait of Cyndia can be seen in Pegasus' castle in the Game Boy Advance game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 8: Reshef of Destruction. The card of her is also seen in Yu-Gi-Oh! R, when Pegasus shows it to Tenma Yakou in a flashback.
[edit] Trivia
- Both Pegasus and Cyndia are named after Greek mythological figures. Cyndia is a variant of the name Cynthia, which is one of the names of the goddess Artemis.
- In the anime, Cyndia's dress is blue. In Reshef of Destruction, her dress in the portrait is red.
