Fubuki Tenjouin (天上院吹雪 Tenjōin Fubuki) is a girl-magnet student at Duel Academia with talents rivaling the establishment's very best. His given name means 'blizzard' (the literal translation is snowstorm), hence his self-deemed alias, 'Blizzard Prince'. When signing an autograph for one of his many fangirls, he signs his name as Fubuki 10Join.

Fubuki is exactly one year senior to the latest arrival of freshman, and one junior to his lifelong rival and friend, Ryo Marufuji. One year prior to the start of the series, he, along with Ryo and Yusuke Fujiwara, were considered the geniuses of the academy, whose potential surpassed anyone there.
Fubuki and Fujiwara were actually best friends who resided together at the abandoned dorm, which was actually another Obelisk Blue campus at the time being. Fubuki watched by helplessly as his dearest friend, Yusuke Fujiwara became more and more obsessed with the experiments of dark research, and his quest for ultimate power. Finally, Fujiwara completes his research, discovering the method to unlock ultimate power, known only as Darkness. As blood runs down his arm, Fubuki stumbles into the abandoned dorm where all of this is taking place, and inadvertently stumbles into the limbo between the real world, and the realm of darkness.
Fujiwara apologizes for dragging his best friend, Fubuki, into this situation, and gives him the mask that will later become an important tool in the series. He begs Fujiwara not to venture into the world of darkness, but it was too late. Fujiwara departs, leaving Fubuki with his memories, and the sad truth that his friend is dead.
Shortly after, Daitokuji, the academy's professor that specializes in alchemy, calls all of the Obelisk Blue students in the dormitory for a test duel that is to actually lure them into a different dimension. The professor succeeds, and all of the students are dragged away. While the fate of the other students is not discovered, Fubuki uses the power of the mask to survive the harsh elements.

Fubuki's true self doesn't make an appearance until episode 30 of the first season. The audience learns of his disappearance (not the details behind it) in episode 5 of the series, where Asuka Tenjouin, his younger sister talks of his mysterious disappearance. Her older brother is the source of her ambition in the first half of the first season.
With the introduction of the 7-Star Assassins in Episode 29, the first of them makes an appearance late at night, capturing Sho Marufuji, Kaiser Ryo's younger brother, and Hayato Maeda, second year Osiris Red, as hostages in order to force the keyholders to take part in a duel. Ultimately, Judai is the one to face the assassin, who introduces himself as Darkness. Neither Asuka nor Judai are aware of the fact that this antagonist is actually Asuka's older brother, Fubuki Tenjouin. There is a lot riding on this duel. The loser will have their soul sealed inside of a card, and the fate of Hayato and Sho hang in the balance.
The duel commences, and while Darkness holds the advantage for most of the duel, it is ultimately Judai who takes victory, and Darkness who gets sealed away by chains in the card. Asuka approaches the motionless body, and reveals that this person is none other than her brother who had disappeared in the abandoned dormitory about one year ago.

Fubuki was strangely absent from the first half of the third season, appearing during the second half, episode 131, with no given explanation as to where he had been. He is seen talking with the rest of the others about their experience in Duel Monsters World. When the students stumble upon a rift between the dimensions, Fubuki is one of the few students who chooses not to go. However, Fubuki uses the power of his Red Eyes Black Dragon to assist the others in keeping the rift open, and steps back to allow the others to join. However, he gets sucked into the different dimension.
He founds out with the most of the others in episode 134 that the duels in these dimensions result in the death of the loser. Following the defeat of Zure, Fubuki is imbued with the orb of anguish - ku, which causes Fubuki great mental distress.
