Although it is unknown to the general public, Jack once lived in the ghettos of Satellite. Even more surprising is that Jack is what is known as a Signer - he was born with a Dragon Birthmark. [edit] Personality
His personality is proud and at times very arrogant. But after receiving words of wisdom from Carly Nagisa, he is not as rude and has become the person Yusei and his friends have come to recognize before he left Satellite to become King in Neo Domino City.
[edit] Biography
[edit] History
Two years before the events of the Fortune Cup, Jack lived in the rundown Satellite area. He was friends with Yusei Fudo, although he did not always hang around with him, preferring to keep to himself inside an abandoned theater. One night, the Chief of Special Investigations from Neo Domino City, Jeager, came to visit him. Knowing that Jack owned the one-of-a-kind Red Daemon's Dragon card, along with a dragon birthmark, Jeager made a deal with Jack. He claimed that Neo Domino City needed a 'King' and said that if Jack took his Red Demon's Dragon along with Yusei's Stardust Dragon, he would become the King. He explained that the garbage pipeline will be deactivated for a brief period, and that Jack can take that time to escape to Neo Domino.
Jack took Jeager up on the offer, and kidnapped his old friend Rally, tying him to a boat in choppy waters just offshore. When Yusei showed up to rescue Rally, Jack explained to him the situation. Nonetheless, Yusei dived into the water to save his friend. Jack promptly took Stardust Dragon from Yusei's deck and rode Yusei's D-Wheel through the pipeline. After leaving Satellite, he became the King - more or less like a celebrity. He made a living out of Pro Dueling and attended autograph signing sessions, toys and merchandise based on him and his ace card.
[edit] Fortune Cup
Jack met up with Yusei for a rematch, with Stardust Dragon on the line.
After Jack's duel with Yusei, he starts to obey Rex Godwin even though he is starting to doubt if the path he's choosing is the right one. Unexpectedly, he loses to his former friend, losing his title as King in the process.
His D-Wheel crashes, injuring his head in the process. Yusei rushes to his side, stating that he lost because he was trapped in becoming a King.
[edit] Finding Himself
Jack is later transferred to a hospital in order to to recover from the head injuries he acquired when he lost his duel with Yusei. Carly sneaks in disguised as a nurse in an attempt to get a scoop for a story, considering her job isn't going very well for her. They meet at the corridor, and she desperately tries to prevent him from leaving. However, things get a little out of control when Ushio, being controlled by the Dark Signers' powers, challenged Jack to a Duel of Darkness. Unable to move his arm, Jack orders Carly to be his "hands". Jack and Carly manage to defeat Ushio, though Jack was quite shaken after that. Before Jack faints, he asks Carly to get him out without notifying the reporters outside. Carly agrees sneaks him out on a gurney, with a white sheet over his form.
Jack wakes up in Carly's place after envisioning a meeting with the Dark Signers in a dream. Mikage and Ushio visit him, with his secretary asking him to come back. Jack refuses, much to her dismay, and she glares at Carly before leaving. Suddenly wanting to leave, Carly angrily exclaims that he should go to an amusement park with her, considering how she took care of him. After spending some time with Carly, Jack starts to show signs of guilt for betraying his friends and shame for how he deluded himself into thinking he was the king of all. During this time, Jack somehow gained feelings of friendship towards Carly. Carly suggests that is the real Jack Atlas returning. The old Jack was defeated by Yusei and now it's time for the real Jack to rise. Jack puts on his jacket and agrees with her and vows to never let himself get lost in the path of the King ever again. He promises to walk the path of the true Jack Atlas.
[edit] Dark Signers
Jack and flies back to Satellite with help from Mikage. Here he watches the Duel between Yusei and Kiryu. Yusei's D-Wheel broke down as he was about to receive the finishing attack, saving his life but also enabling a piece sharp piece of debris to pierce the area near his appendix. Jack demands the helicopter to be landed, but is told that he cannot help without his D-Wheel, and would offer absolutely no assistance at this time.
After returning to Neo Domino City, he tells Carly she had best not get involved with him before breaking her camera's memory chip, to hide the conflict between the Signers and the Dark Signers.
The Dark Signers Misty and Carly awakened and done battle within the Arcadia Movement, summoning two Earthbound Gods and drawing Jack's attention After the duels, he comes across Ruka, Rua, Yanagi and Himuro, who were leaving the building. They tell Jack that Aki is inside and may need help. He rides into the Arcadia building looking for her, and in the process Jack finds Carly's broken glasses. He screams her name, calling out to her, but to no avail. He tucks the glasses in his shirt. Jack hears Aki moaning, turning to the direction of the sound and finding her sprawled on the floor, unconscious. He picks her up and takes her out of the building, unable to find Carly in time. Jack immediately takes Aki to the.
Jack, along with the others Signers are invited by Rex Godwin to his house to learn more about the Signers and Dark Signers. He is told that the Signers have their destinys drawn together in order to guide them all. After learning about the Dark Signer's powers, Jack believes Carly to be among their victims, who were sacrificed when the two Earthbound Gods were summoned. Hearing that the Dark Signers are living dead and cannot be returned to normal, Jack accepts Kiryu as an enemy.
Seeing how much Yusei is afraid of Kiryu and that he has lost confidence after losing to him, Jack punches Yusei in the stomach, hoping that by forcing him to fight him, Yusei will regain his determination. Yusei thanks Jack and accepts that they must fight the Dark Signers to protecteveryone. Hearing this, Jack remembers that he must protect Carly.
In Satellite, they meet up with Martha, who is happy to see Jack back after many years. The reunion is cut close as Yusei finds out that Rally, Crow and the others have disappeared. During supper, Rudger appears in order to duel. Jack wants to but is stopped by Yusei, who tells him that its too dangerous to Duel a Dark Signer here. Under Yusei's instructions, Jack takes Martha and the kids to safer place. Shun, Micchan and Takuya sneak away to watch the Duel. As Rudger Summons his Earthbound Immortal, Jack quickly appears and rescues Shun and Micchan from being sacrificed.
After Yusei's match against Rudger concludes, Jack, Aki, Ruka and Rua gather as the rest of the Dark Signers show themselves. After Jack realizes Carly is one of them, he chases after her and asks why she has chosen this path, to which she replied that if he wanted to know the truth, he must come find her.
As each one of the Signers is set on defeating their respective opponent, they each split up to one of the 4 controllers belonging to the Old Momentum. Jack then rides aboard his D-Wheel to the Hummingbird tower, set to find out what truly happened to Carly. When Jack finaly arrives at the Hummingbird tower, Carly shows herself, riding her very own D-Wheel. As the duel continues Carly activates a trap card that showed Jack what would happen if he became a dark signer, and if he did he would be the "Dark King" of the new world. Jack then sees Carly's glasses on the ground, is released from the vision and goes on with the duel.
As the duel continues, Jack is able to turn Carly back to her true self. However, because of the evil powers of her Earthbound God, the duel is forced to go on. She manages to summon Aslla Piscu but Jack eventually manages to turn the situation around by summoning Savior Demon Dragon. Before he summons this Synchro monster, Jack also experiences the same event that occurred to Yusei during his duel against Kiryu after confessing that he wishes to save her, the one he truly loves, when all 5 Dragon birthmarks appear on his back.
However, before he can attempt to end the duel in a tie, Carly manages to destroy Aslla Piscu and deal damage to herself, thus losing the duel on purpose. Before Carly vanishes completely, they share a sad conversation, ending with Carly saying that she believed in him. She wraps her arms around his neck, and he hugs her back. He was in a state of despair after she confessed his love for him, watching her disappear but completing his duties as a Signer.
