[edit] History

Rishid was originally adopted by the Ishtar Family before Marik was born. He was taken in and Ishizu's mother treated and raised him as her own son. However, Ishizu's father disaproved, and treated him like the other servants. When it came to declare an heir to the Ishtar Legacy, Rishid rose to the challenge, but Ishizu's father flatly refused. Not soon after, Malik was born, and his mother died during childbirth. It was at this time that Marik's father declared him as the legitimate heir to the family.

The two grew as brothers and were very close, however Rishid still harboured resentment toward Marik for taking a place he truly deserved. When Marik grew ill as the result of a snake bite, Marik's father punished him, saying it was Rishid's fault. Not being able to take it anymore, he tried to take Marik's life. While attempting to kill Marik, he woke up. Rishid hid the knife and Marik expressed how pleased he was to have his brother there.

[edit] Duel Monsters / Magic and Wizards

Rishid plays with mostly Trap Cards, and to make up for a lack of Monster Cards he uses the Trap Monster Incarnate of Apophis and the all-powerful Holy Beast Serket, which can deal with most attacks. He is also given a counterfeit Sun God Dragon Ra by Marik for his duel against Jounouchi, although he is not able to properly utilize it. Rishid is a very strong duelist whose cards follow an Ancient Egyptian theme, and his proud style of dueling is noticeable enough for Jonouchi to realize that he is dueling against an honorable opponent.
