Shizuka Kawai

Shizuka Kawai (川井 静香 Kawai Shizuka) is Katsuya Jonouchi's younger sister and a kindly but largely dependent young girl. In the Toei series, she is known as Shizuka Jonouchi (城之内 静香 Jōnouchi Shizuka) [1].

[edit] Personality
Kind and calm, Shizuka seems to give off a maternal aura even at a young
age. Outwardly she may seem naive at times but always tries to cheer on
Jonouchi. Because of their close bond from before their parents
divorced, Shizuka seems a little clingy to her brother and is devastated
when he is defeated by Dark Marik atop Alcatraz Tower in the Battle City finals.

She is the younger sister of Katsuya Jonouchi. In the manga and Duel Monsters anime series, she first appears in the Duelist Kingdom arc, and was going blind, so Jonouchi had to enter the tournament to win money for her eye operation.
He comes second place but Yugi gives him the prize money to play for the operation, which she gets in episode 55.
She later becomes a supporting character during the Battle City arc up until leaving Domino at the end of that arc.
She is last seen meeting her brother and his friends at the airport in the credits of the final episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
She is close to her brother and Mai Kujaku and stays by Mai's bedside after she is trapped in her own mind by Dark Marik.
Hiroto Honda also has a crush on her and fights with Ryuji Otogi over her.

In Toei's anime she appears in episode 14, in a hospital run by a doctor who neglects his patients, unlike the manga and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, She is simply gravely ill.
