Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy (遊戯王デュエルモンスターズGX めざせデュエルキング! Yūgiō Dyueru Monsutāzu GX Dyueru Kingu! in Japan), is a video game based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. [edit] Story
The game begins with the player being transfered to Duel Academia, as an Osiris Red student. Some of the anime's main characters, such asYuki Judai are also introduced at this time. The player is also able to play through some of plot points of the loosely based from the first season of the GX anime, such as Sho, being unable to use the card Power Bond, and dueling against Titan.
[edit] Gameplay
Since the game is based on the TCG, the game is progressed by dueling others. When the player wins a duel, he/she is rewarded with DP, or Duel Points. DP is the game's currecny, and is used to purchase card packs to improve the player's deck. The game also has its own calender, with certain events occurring on certain days. The game's banlist is also changed at a certain point as well.
At the end of the game's month, the player goes through a Dorm Switch exam, in which consists of 10 questions about the card game (such as knowing the effect of a card), a Timed Duel (which the player must win the duel within one turn, with a predetermined set of cards in the hand and field), and a Practical Exam (a normal duel, but the player must use a deck of a certain theme given before the exam to past. Some examples include using a deck with Ritual Monsters, or Trap cards).
Passing the exam allows the player to change dorms, as well as increase
the player's rank.
Rank is determined by various factors in the game, such as amount of
duels won, or how much of the game's card collection the player has
acquired (for instance, the rank of "Average Duelist" is attained when
the player has over 10 wins when passing the exam).
The game's highest rank, is of course, King of Games.

- The game has its share of mistakes. Some of the more known ones is Burst Stream of Destruction (the player can activate its effect even when there isn't a BEWD present on the field), and Card of Sanctity (the in-game text shows the card's anime effect, while activating it, it goes by its OCG/TCG effect).
