The Director of Yu-gi-Oh! GX is also the director for Cardfight!! Vanguard! and has done storyboarding and animation for Yugioh, including the U.S. Movie.

Also on a slightly unrelated note the series composer for Vanguard was also the series composer for Monster. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...le.php?id=7202

Monster had a really good soundtrack. Still not gonna watch Vanguard though.

You sure that's not just animenewsnetwork getting the YGO series mixed up? It's either that or this guy completely changed his style.

While that is not entirely accurate, since the series composition shifted hands about five times over the course of DM's run, it is true that the main character design was headed off by a combined effort of Shingo Araki and Michi Himeno who also did character design for the Toei series.

I know series composition changed a lot in DM, but didn't the director stay the same the whole time?

I think the confusion lies in the link you provided. The director of GX was Hatsuki Tsuji, not Urahata Tatsuhiko.

er... crap. I guess I need to double check my stuff. x.x

    EDIT:

Ah, I see what you mean now. I guess the way the first post was organized (i.e. poorly) was the source of the confusion.

Hey, this guy did the storyboard for some Yoroiden Samurai Troopers episodes and was even the episode director for some other episodes. Pretty much all of those episodes are among my favorites except episode 4, too. Not to mention that episode 28 has the single best animation of the entire TV series, directed by Shukou Murase.
