There has been a "post recording interview" with the protagonists' voice actors. They seem to be talking about their roles as the characters. The article also mentions Atsushi Tamura's role as Paradox. I don't think/know if anything new is mentioned, however.

Maan this is epic! I'm really glad the animation isn't as simple-looking as the very first screenshots made them out to be. Lines under the eyes, expressing fierceness, is truly a highlight of Battle City. We have no idea how the story itself will be in the movie nor the running time but animation wise, looking darn good!

Well at least we know the animation will be awesome. Also, cape-mode Atem is always nice since we never see him with his school uniform like that after Battle City.

Holy crap! Those pics are really high quality with nice animation! Even if the movie's plot may or may not be enjoyable (hard to know at this point), we know we'll have the animation quality to look forward to!

In the pic of all 3 of them standing from the front against Paradox, Yugi looks like he's about to pee his pants, not angry. xD

With animation so reminiscent of the Battle City Finals, this movie looks like it's going to be pretty sweet. All three of them looked great in those shots, and Paradox doesn't seem too bad design-wise. Looking forward to more pictures. (Those photoshopped pics make me wish Judai pulled out Haou sometime during the movie. XD)

As for Jirou Takasugi, if Pegasus ends up being in the movie, it'll be all the better. XD

I just KNEW you will like that shoop of Judai X).

I also like him much better when he has these eyes and not only being with the supreme king armor. Thats also probably why his 2nd(?) Duel with Yubel was the one of the best for me in GX.
I find him much more cooler with Haou's eyes than with his desu(haou+yubel) eyes.

O.O when Im out for one second (day) I really do miss something T_T

The art look really cool, what I find weird is that I thinked Yusei was more taller than he looks in this.
But it doesn't matter that much.

The article talks of a post recording interview held on the 26 in Tokyo, introduces Miyoshita, KENN and Shunsuke. Shunsuke commented, "Now of late, at work, I hear (the kids say), 'I watch Yu-Gi-Oh!.' And it makes me think that the spirit is being kept alive." KENN was spotted saying, "We're reliable like war buddies" (in relation to the three protagonists.) And Miyoshita said, "A part fans would probably like will be when Yusei, who's often times so stoic and cool, take heed to his sempais. This makes sense. I don't expect others to be present during the Duel, but I would like to see a glimpse of each world before it happens.

Time for some 3rd grade trivia:

heed

–verb (used with object) 1. to give careful attention to: He did not heed the warning.
–verb (used without object) 2. to give attention; have regard.

In other words he listens to his "senpais" and takes the role of underclassmen. Despite his age, they have technically both seen quite a bit more in the magic department so they know more about what they are dealing with as far as Paradox's powers go.

OMG. I'm so glad Yugi and Atem are in this movie and not just Atem. I haven't heard anything yet, but is yugi's original VA gonna b in this. I think his voice was awesome for yugi/atem. The art also looks amazing.

Like, in the Pyramid of Light movie, Mai, as well as other characters from the DM verse played no part in that movie's plot, but where still shown anyway.

So, like you mentioned before, having the movie not show anyone else would be an odd choice.

Exactly. Even seeing random side cameos would be fine for me. But I would like characters like Jounouchi and co, Kaiba and etc to have some lines. Anyhow I won't say much more about this until we get closer to the movie and more is confirmed, as I am starting to sound repetitive.

That shouldn't be that way.
Yugi/Atem must be in the middle and also Judai has to be in Atem's right and Yusei in left.
That would be the perfect picture.
And not to mention that in the movie Yusei isn't the tallest guy.
Yugi/Atem, Judai and Yusei are at one height. (which I really don't mind at all)

(I don't know, there's some trick, something really strange about this duel. Not to mention that the screenshots may not mean that the real duel between Paradox is about to begin. Yugi/Atem, Jusei and Judai may have prepared for a duel, but Paradox to decide to lead them somewhere else or to force them to duel with completely new rules.. I don't know....just my thoughts.)

Same here. Otherwise, I'll get some flashbacks of that Dragon Ball special where it had pretty much everyone in the DB universe but some of them had no lines (granted, there were reasons why some of them didn't have any lines).

Well, Horoko did translate a brief mention of Yusei having a Riding Duel against Paradox. Maybe that's how Stardust gets stolen, similar to how Luciano seemed to have wanted to steal Ancient Fairy in that recent episode of 5D's.

Or, he could just duel from his D-Wheel, keeping it stationary, as he doesn't seem to have a Duel Disk (he can probably just materialize one like Dartz did in Doma though).
If he does that, he would be cool to see him run over the Duelists for direct attacks.

There I go again, hoping for physical damage on characters I like. xD

I don't mind whos in the center, anyone can be in the middle, and its the same thing.

But about the height, it really looks weird that the three of them are almost the same height.
Then that means that Jack is shorter than Kaiba :/

Especially if Paradox is really so evil (like Yami Marik), he won't miss watching his opponents suffer.

When I look at this one... I can't help but like the lines streamed under their eyes. This animation really brings out the best of these three, just shows how badass they really are and their about transcend time and space with serious ass kickin! XD

and I agree on Prismamaster on wondering how dose Yusei end up meeting Judai? My theory he must have time traveled in the present, Judai moved on to another life outside of Duel Academy traveling to a near by cities near where we last saw Judai in the desert in the final ep. of GX... =/

Since Judai has Yubel's powers, he can sense DM spirits anywhere from a far distance. I think Yusei may have some sort of guide through out the movie thats leading him to the Judai and Atemu to help stop and defeat Paradox from destroying and disrupting the balance in the space/time continuum.

That's a good question. Jaden might be living in an apartment or something... hmm... I not sure how Yusei would meet Jaden.

From the screenshots, it seems Yugi is shown doing the talking. Yusei is like 100% calm though, like its no big deal while as Yugi is worrying himself out. As for Judai, well just has the usual gaze he gives lol

Reaaally making me think of Final Fantasy Dissidia though. I'm like thinking Yusei is Cloud, Judai is Tidus, and Yugi is...Well, I know Yami is kinda like Warrior of Light but no clue on Little Yugi XP

Also, I wonder how the Life Point counters will look?

Yeah, I hope Judai serves as the comedy relief (I don't mean total dunce, but it's nice to have a more relaxed dude out of the two stoics...boy, Yami and Yusei, fun pair those would be huh?), Yugi as the leader (because he just has that sense about him), and Yusei as the one who holds them together. I don't want to see them like go crazy on each other, since that'd be OOC, but I would like to see them have some minor squabbles at first before coming together. That's always a nice touch in crossovers.

Oh, and I really like their eyes in that screenshot. Purple, Blue, and Brown just seem to fit well together. Judai's the only one with eyes that don't match his trademark monster, unless you count Ground Mole (I do)
All in all they have a nice synergy with their outfits I feel.

I don't want to watch duel all the time.
I would like to see some communication between them. I want to see them converse. (Here I imagine the 3 of them just standing in Yugi's Game Shop and talking friendly about all their adventures. It would be cute...nice scene. xD)
It won't be so bad if they would argue with each other (not so surprising, considering they have different personalities), though I doubt such scene is about to be seen in the movie. (Yet I can imagine how Atem's and Yusei's personalities collide. xD That would be really ULTIMATE POWER COLLISION. xD)

Considering he's the last one to join the protagonist group, what did you expect? It was pretty obvious from the first preview of the plot that Yusei would get the most amount of screentime.

But before everyone does eventually go batshit, I'd like to propose a possible idea.

With the way things are looking, we already knew Yugi wasn't going to come until the latter part of the movie. (Since the time traveling seems to go in a 5D's > GX > DM way) If the duel with Yugi, Judai, and Yusei against Paradox doesn't last the entire movie (which it shouldn't), then the fact that Yugi gets less of a role should a bit obvious, if you think about.

It's no supprise really due to the time travel stuff
Yusai will have the latest cards thus the strongest deck, Jaded has quick fusion stuff too which could probably hold it's own with a Syncro deck whilst poor Yugioh wont have any of this stuff, so in theory will be t a massive disadvantage. As such it's no wonder his role will be minor.

I'm not a DM purist, but the fact that the original main character isn't going to get the same amount of time as the spin-off characters for his series/the original series anniversary is just...a bit off.

Not to mention Yugi is a better character than Yaoi-things 1 and 2...In MY opinion, anyway.

The way this movie is going so far, I didn't really like it much anyway, so this shouldn't be much more of a shock, but more of a "last straw."

Really? I thought it was pretty obvious from the first preview that said Yusei would have a riding duel with Paradox that Yusei would be the star of the movie. Plus, there's also the fact that he's the poster boy for the series now.

Except he's like...the King of Games and legendary Pharaoh and stuff.

They needed to go get Yugi's help BECAUSE he was that awesome in the past.

Also it's the anime, so I'm pretty sure current rules have nothing to do with a character's skill in the series (because it all comes down to luck anyway, and luck likes main characters.)

Exactly. But that's some logic though, especially when you count the fact that Yugi arguably dueled in a much tougher era than both of them. Synchro Monsters? Please. Contact Fusion? Righ~t. When Judai and Yusei are able to defeat an opponent who constantly spams your Field without having a Graveyard while losing an insane amount of cards from your deck or winning two major dueling tournaments using a deck with no central theme or strategy(OR ARCHETYPE), then they can go on my "bad ass" roster.

Not to say that I hate GX and 5D's. Well I hate GX and I hate what 5D's has become, but..still .

Just wanted to say, the animation is looking really good right now, hopefully it'll be a ground duel even though Paradox has a D-Wheel. Unless Paradox faces the three each individually, lol.

Well screw the purists fanboys, they just don't know how to move on and adapt. It's alright to like something, but to obsess it to death and call others inferior because their interests differ from their own, that's too much.

Regardless of how bad this movie might be, knowing that the potential of something like this could be wasted depending on the length, I'll watch it to see at least how they handle things. Because....it'll be better than the 4Kids inspired movie. That alone is enough to get me to see it.

Well, the purists can take this in a positive way: Judai and Yusei HAD to go to Yugi because they both know he's the legendary duelist, the Duel King. So, despite Yugi/Atem is a support character, taking it in the better way, it feels that it makes sense. Plus, I'm sure we'll see his tough moves in the duel with REAL strategy and not some of the broken and way too easy cards Yusei and Judai have. Pfft, the guy's gonna show them what a REAL duel is like!
