Thread: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Special

Even though Yugi is the Number one game king his deck will still be far weaker than those of his collegues due to his timeline (unless the animators forget this alltogether) so the only way he can serve them well is for them to let him use some of there cards, or perhaps act as a trap man/stratagist whilst the others use quick summon monsters to defend him.

Yugi I think may be a liability in this match. imagine vs someone with a Kaiba starter deck whilst yours has shit loads of modern card and syncros. You'd woop them

Not exactly, the writers have control over the duel. They can balance it out through that. Besides, Yugi has alot of powerful spells and traps. His vanilla's can also help Yusei Synchro, and if Paradox has any anti-Fusion or anti-Synchro cards Yugi has the most raw power.

The last episode of GX begs to differ. Yugi's deck is weaker than a lot of people's, but unlike GX, and, to a lesser extent, 5D's, it's the character's own skill that wins, not the auto-pilot deck.

No, it's dependent on what the writer wants to happen. Everyone has an auto-pilot deck.

Um, way to state the obvious?

I was speaking from a TCG/OCG standpoint, which I assumed ynR was. The fact is, Archetypes are easier to use, and tend to "play themselves" which is why people complain when those decks constantly top.

I'm not saying Yusei or Judai are bad duelists. I think it's pretty much confirmed canon that they aren't.

I'm not trying to start a DM vs. 5D's/GX war with you, so I'll leave it at that.

Well, that's also usually the theme for the main/cover character; the Deck being more of a "weaker" or "underdog" Deck that tends to use "teamwork", "unity", etc to either make those individually weaker monsters stronger or, as GX and 5D's has done, using those weaker monsters to form stronger ones (Fusions/Rituals/Synchros) and their rival tends to have a powerhouse Deck full of "naturally" stronger monsters meant to be able to stand on their own rather than rely on other (situational) cards.

But, as said, it's also their skill that helps them utilize that "teamwork" effectively to take down those stronger opponents. Though, admittingly, it is also the convenience given by writers and such to make a bunch of those more situational cards work, lol.

Yeah. I mean, wasn't that pretty much the original idea of Yusei's deck when it was revealed in season one? He uses cards that others have thrown away, aka junk cards.

With all of the Stardust support he has now, though, it doesn't seem that way anymore, which is a shame.

Before Yusei began to sex Stardust in all his duels, his deck kind of played on momentum and tempo, where he built up his own momentum with his Synchros and Tuners and then tried to counter his opponent's disruption of his momentum with his makeshift strategies(mostly in his Traps). It was such an interesting concept, and a shame that they tossed it down the drain by making Stardust Neos.

Still I wonder. For the title of the movie is called "Super Fusion! Bonds that Transcend Time." If somehow Yusei gets Stardust back from Paradox, will Judai really use Super Fusion to fuse all 3 of their aces together to form the Ultimate Fusion Monster?

I have a deep feeling its name will be "Neo Stardust Sage". if that happens to be true, I'll be surprised! =P

I really can't imagine monster which is combination of their 3 fav monsters, but in that movie everything can be expected. xD
Although, I still hope to the Egyptian God Cards. xD
May be some fusion between one of them and some cool dragons from Yusei's and Judai's deck would be interesting to see. xD
Anyway, I don't understand much of the rules and strategies in duels, so I just hope to see some beautifull new monsters and old, cool and well known monsters. xD

カードゲームを日本に浸透させたアニメ「遊☆戯☆王」シリーズがついに10周年を迎える事となった。シリー ズ10周年を記念した3Dアニメ映画『10th アニバーサリー 劇場版 遊☆戯☆王~超融合!時空を越えた絆~』のアフレコ会見が行われたぞ。1作目「遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスタ ーズ」武藤遊戯役の風間俊介、2作目「遊☆戯☆ 王デュエルモンスターズGX」遊城十代役のKENN、3作目「遊☆戯☆王5D's」不動遊星役の宮下雄也( RUN&GUN)の歴代主人公3人の声優が勢ぞろいしたぞ。
今回はその会見の様子を大特集!一挙公開だ!

10年目の記念映画ですが、今回の映画への意気込みを教えてもらえますか?

武藤遊戯役:風間俊介さん
僕自身遊戯と言う役をすごく大切に思っていて、それをもう一度やらせていただけると言う事に凄い喜びを感じ ています。また遊戯に会えるし、僕自身遊戯になれると言う事を凄く楽しみにしています。


遊城十代役:KENNさん
子どものころから好きだった作品でもありますし、声のお仕事を初めていただいた作品なので、凄く気合も入っ ています。またみなさんとお会いできてうれしく思っています。

不動遊星役:宮下雄也さん (RUN&GUN)
歴代の先輩方とデュエル出来るのを凄く楽しみにしています。

風間俊介さん初代遊戯ですが、10周年と聞いて如何ですか?

僕自身凄く最近に感じていたんですけど始まって10年って、当時小学校5年生や6年生だった子が、今20代 前半になっているので、最近一緒に仕事する子達にずっと見てましたと言ってもらえたりとかして、こうやって いろんな人の心に残っていく10年ってすごいありがたいなと思っています。

ついさっき僕が風間俊介さんに言いました(笑)小学校の頃見ていたので今日のアフレコは凄い緊張して凄い楽 しみでした。

高校生だったんだよ、俺(笑)

やっぱり初代の風間俊介さん達が作ってきた作品なので、二代目として3年半やらせていただきましたけど、そ れを絶対に崩しちゃいけないって気持ちでやってきました。それが今回宮下雄也くんにバトンタッチして作られ た10年間って凄く長いようで短いようで、みんなの思いが詰まった作品なので今回のお話で、その10年の集 大成をやって行きたいと思っています。

ほんとに歴代の遊☆戯☆王ファンの方の期待を裏切らないような作品にしたいと思っています。それなりのプレ ッシャーも感じています。みんなで作りたいと思っています。

3人が集まったのは初めてなのですが、お互いの印象をお聞かせいただけますでしょうか?

風間俊介さん
今日3人で会ったんですけどやっぱりそれぞれ遊☆戯☆王と言う作品でカードゲームをやって来たっていう共通 点が有るのか話しがすごく弾みました。

宮下雄也さん
僕は人見知りで緊張してたんです。寝れなくて八度寝ぐらいしてたんですね。(笑)

風間俊介さん
大丈夫かよそれ(笑)

宮下雄也さん
それぐらい緊張して当日現場に入ったんですけど、なんか昔から知り合いだった様な勢いですんなりしゃべれて 、アフレコでは力をあわせてがんばりたいなって気持ちでいっぱいです。

KENNさん
僕の場合はアニメの方で風間俊介さんと一緒にやらさせて頂いていますし、宮下雄也くんとも違う作品で一緒に やらさせて頂いていましたのでお互い面識は有ったんですが、実際3人が一緒になって同じ気持ちでデュエルを 3キャラともやってきて、そういう3人にしかわからない戦友の様なイメージを僕自身は持っていたので、みん なに楽しんでいただこうと言う同じ思いを持った頼もしい存在なので、3倍力が湧く気がします。パネルを見せ ていただいた時に「あぁ豪華だな」って思いましたね。それぞれのキャラクターが集まるって言うのが楽しみで 仕方が無いです。




台本をお読みになってそれぞれのキャラクターの見どころを教えていただけますか?

宮下雄也さん
不動遊星は一番寡黙でクールなキャラクターで、無愛想な所もあるんですけど、今回は一番後輩なので先輩たち に敬語を使っているという所が5D'sファンの方からしたら見どころかな?と思っています。

風間俊介さん
じゃぁ普段は「あぁ」とか言うんだ

宮下雄也さん
「あぁ」とか「任せておけ」とか(笑)結構クールな感じなんですけど「遊戯さん」「十代さん」ってそんな一 面も見れるので楽しみにしていてください(笑)

KENNさん
十代は最初すごく明るい性格で、好奇心旺盛でほんとなんでもかんでも挑戦しようと言うタイプだったんですけ ど、作品の中で色々と挫折を味わったりという過程が有っての、大人になった遊城十代として参戦しているんで すけど、好奇心旺盛な部分を忘れずに凄く楽しんでデュエルをするという元気いっぱいな感じを見ていただけれ ばな、と思っています。

風間俊介さん
今まで遊戯は何かを背負ってデュエルをしてたんですけど、今回は2人をサポートしつつ自分自身も戦っていく という今まで無かった先輩としての遊戯がしっかり出ているので、ぜひ皆さんに見ていただきたいと思っていま す。

声優、役者のお仕事をしていらっしゃいますが尊敬する役者さんや気になっている作品を教えても らえますか?

宮下雄也さん
アニメは遊☆戯☆王が初めてで舞台をやってきたんですけど、声優さんはキャラクターに声だけで命を与える仕 事なので、どの作品を見てもすごいと思っています。

風間俊介さん
僕がこの声優という仕事を教えていただいたのが三ツ矢 雄二さんなので尊敬しています。先生としてお会いした後に色々な作品を見せていただいて、タッチの「たっち ゃん」の声を聞いて、キテレツ大百科の「トンガリ」の声を聞いた時「声優って凄い!」と思いま した。

KENNさん
この作品だけじゃないんですが、津田 健次郎さんですね。遊☆戯☆王にも出ていらっしゃいますし、しかも舞台もやられていて、自分も同じようなお 仕事の仕方をしているので、先輩として気になりますね。

それぞれ好きな遊☆戯☆王のカードを一枚教えていただけますか?

宮下雄也さん
やっぱり主人公不動遊星が使っているエースカードの「スターダスト・ドラゴン」ですね。スターダスト・ドラ ゴンは本当にかっこいいし強いし好きですね。でも他の作品で言ったら「ブラック・マジシャン」が好きですね 。もうめちゃくちゃかっこいいですよね(笑)

風間俊介さん
あれはもう(笑)「ブラック・マジシャン」と言うのが特別なカードじゃない、もちろん遊戯の中では特別なカ ードなんですけど、それを駆使して特別なカードに勝っていくというのがいいですね。特別なカードだと「オシ リスの天空竜」と言う神のカードが「凄いのが出てきたぞ!」と思いましたね。でもやっぱり「ブラック・マジ シャン」ですね(笑)

KENNさん
僕は「ハネクリボー」ですね。やっぱり作品中で武藤遊戯にもらったカードでもありますし、いちばん初めにも らったカードなので、自分がデッキを組んだりした時も必ず入れるし、いろんなイラストの「ハネクリボー」が 有ってマスコット的に好きです。もう一枚あげるとしたら「フレイム・ウィングマン」ですね。

三人で戦う敵がパラドックスと言う全く新しい敵ですが、三人で戦う意気込みなどを教えていただ けますか?

KENNさん
歴代の主人公3人でも勝てるか勝てないか!と言う凄く強い敵なので、そこをどうにかして3人で協力して倒し ていきます。

宮下雄也さん
パラドックスが使う新しいカードが出てくるんですけど、そのカードに対して3人の知恵を振り絞ってせめぎ合 っていくので、劇場でチェックしてほしいです。強敵相手でも俺たち3人の絆は破れないってところをお客さん に見て欲しいです。

風間俊介さん
敵ながら戦う理由がしっかりしていてただ単に悪いわけでは無くて、パラドックスの信念に対して僕らも信念を 持って戦うっていうのが少しせつない部分が有ったりもして、いろんな事を見た人に考えてもらって子ども達に 先の事を考えてもらいたいですね。倒す時にさみしさが有る、そんな敵です。

パラドックス役にロンドンブーツ1号2号の田村淳さんが決定しましたが、田村淳さんの印象を教えていただけ ますか?

宮下雄也さん
事務所の先輩ですが、声優の仕事をしているのを見るのは初めてです。絡むのも初めてなので芸人さんの顔じゃ ない田村さんのお芝居をどういう風に見せてくれるのか、パラドックスの信念を僕がイメージしている物をいい 意味で裏切ってほしいなと思っています。

KENNさん
僕は初めてお会いするのですが、違うアニメの印象が僕の中で強いので、今回どういうお芝居をしてくるのか凄 く…ちょっと生意気かもしれませんが楽しみにしています。あとは実際お会いして会話のキャッチボールとか楽 しみたいです。

風間俊介さん
普段から見せていただいていますし、凄いファンなので単純に共演できるという事がうれしいです。凄くストイ ックな方と言うイメージが有るので、凄く素敵なパラドックスになるんじゃないかな?って楽しみ です。

今回は3Dの飛び出す映像になっていますが、3D映画の見どころを教えていただけますか?

今回は映像が3Dと言う事で、モンスターが間近で攻めてきたりとか、召喚した時の存在感は凄いと思います。 ほんとに楽しみです。泣いちゃわないようにしてください(笑)

作品中にソリッドビジョンと言う表現が有ってホログラムでモンスターが浮き上がる設定なんですが、今回はほ んとにリアルに

日常生活であのドラゴン出てきたら相当怖いと思うんですよね(笑)あれが目の前に出てくるので臨場感を味わ ってほしいですね。

最後に作品を見に来るファンに対して一言いただけますか?

タイトル通り時を越えて主人公3人がパラドックスに向かう、俺たちがやってきた10年間かけて作ってきた作 品を感じてほしい。俺たちの絆でデュエルは続いて行くんだと言う思いを感じ取ってほしいです。

Yet another article of the interview, this seems lengthier than the last one. This one contains a bit of a discussion about Atsushi Tamura's role as Paradox as well. (Tamura himself doesn't speak in the interview, just the three protagonists' VAs talking about him.) They are also saying something about "Paradox's new card", but they don't go into detail.

Please, stop gessing about the name of an unprobable fusion between the main character's aces. I have seen lots of names on this thread, and each one more stupid that the previous one...

Yes, guessing the new monsters cards are annoying. But anyway, you think yugi/atem will use the god cards, or are they totally left out?

Who knows? Yusei could use Variety Out, making Yugi have the Tributes ready.

They seem to be completely forgotten. :/
I'd like to see mostly Osiris though. xD (I'm not if 3D animation will suit him.)

Yeah, I wouldn't take the "Super Fusion" bit that literally. Probably just a way of showing the 3 characters mixed together in 1 story.

And yeah, I'd see Yugi/Atem use at least 1 of the God Cards (probably Osiris given it's his "symbol" God), but most likely end up defeated by whoever they Duel against and he'll, as usual, fall back on Dark Magician stuff. It would also be interesting if he used Horahkti as a card with Judai using Super Fusion to get it out or something, lol.

I kinda wonder how Paradox's deck will be like? Imagining it, I'm sure it'll be a theme thats similar to DM, GX, and 5D's such as Normal monster cards, Fusion, and Synchro. But, I think I'd like to see him using a removal deck with Different Dimension cards but that'd set up Judai's E-HERO Elixerer too easy. Or perhaps and light and darkness deck? Maybe even use chaos cards like Emperor Dragon and Luster Soldier. But, don't know.

What kind of deck do you guys imagine fitting to a Paradox's theme?

Paradox will probably use new cards we don't know.If yugi does summon the god cards,then paradox will have a hard time...

Hmmm....go Anti-Special Summon! (lol, one of my favorite Decks to use lately IRL).

Vanity Devil, Vanity Ruler, Pachycephalo, Jowgen, Archangel Christia, Declaration of God/Solemn Judgment, Black Horn of Heaven, Royal Oppression, Special Hurricane (lol), etc, etc while having big monsters with things like Mausoleum, Star Blast, Ultimate Offering, etc.

It's likely that paradox will use broken anime cards.Since this is a 3 vs 1 duel,will paradox start with 12,000 lp?

I'd like a deck that would represent his character and personality well. Going by the "duality" theory, light and darkness cards would be a good start. I could see him using cards whose effects activate X turns later, or meddle with his opponents' turn phases, or even his own. The removal idea sounds pretty fitting, too. (wanting to "erase" Pegasus)

An unique deck would be neat. After all, he is from the future, from a time we don't have any knowledge of.

Excellent question. He can prepare his deck according to his knowlegde of each duelist's style. Against Yugi and Judai, he can inclure some cards who prevent the fusion or the sacrifice. I will see his deck composed of light and dark monsters like his mask. Also, cards who reduce damage at 0 or prevent monsters to destroyed in battle are possible. When he is alone against three opponents, I think cards like this can be logical. Cards like Vice Dragon or Sun Priest give the possibility to take advantage quickly.

The writers of GX and 5D really LOVE the concept of an all mighty Key Card... Did they even read the original manga by Takahashi? He managed to give each Yugi duel it's own Key Monster! If I remember correctly Yugi never used the same finishing monster twice!

It could also possibly be a BRAND new theme that we've never seen before like Anubis had in Pyramid of Light, Andro Sphinx, Sphinx Teleia, Theinen the Great Sphinx, and Inferno Tempest.

So maybe it could be a bunch of monsters similar to Light and Darkness Dragon in that they're treated as LIGHT AND DARK monsters or something.

It irks me to no end how much love these two attributes get in this franchise. I mean, seriously. I know Light and Dark are the two classic elements of the universe, but it's not as if a little originality wouldn't hurt every now and then...Hell, once we hear Light/Dark we already know it's going to be something that is broken/impacts the meta and anime universes...

Oh, I like that idea of monsters having dual attributes! I kind of forgot about that. And I agree on Paradox having a new theme.

Paradox would have an enormous advantage, obviously. He lives in the future, so he should be aware of a lot of card types and combinations. But at the same time, wouldn't he fall victim to overlooking combos consisting of old cards? But if he's desperate, he'll probably look up card databases and rulings like crazy prepare for his duel very carefully and cautiously.

I say Paradox as a Time traveller should have a deck that deals with time thingies

Also lets not forget. Like the 2nd film, will the 3rd film present new up-coming cards from the movie? They had 12 of them made from the 2nd YGO movie. And the single golden pack held 4 cards to collect when buying a ticket to go see the movie.

But will the number of cards increase due to the Trio being on the bigscreen all together? Not to mention for Paradox's deck cards. Anubis had 4 of his card made, Kaiba had 6 and Atemu had 2.

Any ideas on that question guys?

They even went as far as to print a card the Anime made first (Watapon)

That OVA, which is supposed to be an extended trailer is already out ( Horoko translated every info about it)
But, I guess it'll take time untill we see it on the internet. :/

I've got a feeling it'll just be an Alternate Art of Dark Magician, Neos, & Stardust Dragon.

Well, there's like 4 alternate arts for DM but never for Neos & surely Stardust. So I'm seeing these will be the so-called promo card.

But hey, if people are such perver... collectors to collect all alternate arts of DMG, why not these??

Because DM, Neos, and Stardust do not have breasts.

But I'd like alternate arts, however..Doubt DM will get one, I mean, the Anniversary one is bad ass enough..I wish we would be seeing THAT version of DM in the movie except for the purple one. Hate the purple one...

Maybe they should make a special alt. art like the Mew card they made for the first Pokemon movie. And I don't think all 3 of them will get alt. arts, maybe Stardust since Yusei is now obviously Yugi Mutou.

I beg to differ; were you not around when everyone was 'ooing' and 'ahhing' over blurry leaked pictures of Stardust's card, but then when a clean promo art of it was released, pretty much everyone instantly recoiled in revolted terror? but oh god this aimless speculation. If promos are released, and if they're nothing more then reprints, I sort of hope that Stardust will be a common rare. Because the notion of Stardust getting printed in every rarity ever sans common in like, a year, amuses me endlessly.
