Thread: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Special

I'm glad that my idea was able to bring up some discussion. I only referenced LA because that was the only city I could come up with at the time. In retrospect, it would have been easier if I just mentioned a fusion of the three different Domino Cities. Anyway...

I think that most likely the will meet each other in some sort of time paradox. As the title of the movie suggests, Paradox will fuse time and the three protagonists will meet. They will do a duel that's 3 on 1. They will defeat Paradox and probably get a little time to talk with each other. Maybe Yusei will show Yugi and Jaden how they duel on d-wheels.

Most likely though, after they defeat him, they will return to their respective times after defeating Paradox and they will only have enough time say goodbyes. They probably won't show a duel between the three because of all the debating it would cause. Though they showed Yugi beating Jaden, it wasn't really Yugi, per say. When i refer to Yugi, i mean Yugi, not Atem. Atem uses a different deck than Yugi.

Anyway... That's my theory for now. Though I would really like to see at least a cameo by Joey and the others, since he is one of my favorite Yugioh characters.

Anyone else got a theory we haven't heard yet? Thanks for reading.

Yeah I know what you mean, curse 4kids. I'll buy the japanese dvd, and I'll watch the 4kids version only to watch the Pharaoh, who is voiced by Dan Green (best voice ever!) But maybe 4kids won't be able to afford dubbing this. I mean they stopped selling Yu-Gi-Oh! dvds already, so why would they bother wasting money on this? Really?

What's got me thinking is that they said the YGO! movie will broacast in over 80 countries. So, what exactly does that mean? Is the movie gonna be dubbed for other countries or simply with subtitles? Could be like what Fathom does with some anime movies showing in cinemas for 1 or 2 days.

I think you misinterpreted the trailer. O_o

If I remember right, based on the subtitles Horoko provided, it said that the YGO series has aired in over 80 countries, not that the movie would broadcast in said countries when it comes out. :/

I have to wonder though, how many countries actually get the original version of YGO anyway? :L

Only a few get the original Yu-Gi-Oh! because of different television laws in different countries. But I think it's under a dozen countries who get the original Yu-Gi-Oh! and the other countries will air an edited version, but may sell uncut dvds.

I think the character bios pretty much confirms that Yugi is better than the other two. I don't see the words "world's strongest class of duelist" on Yusei's or Judai's bio. lol

I even have made screen shots of the card's effect text. It perfectly clear for translating.

I can't even remember(still haven't watched all of 5D's to see what Saviors are) a second card in all of the YGO! series to be such a blatant and obvious equivalent of DEM.
They just simply could have named it Deus Ex Machina and shoot themselves.

Lol, Ra was partially a cheat if you think about it. Aside from the logical aspect that it had three effects written on the card, Dark Malik was like "Well since I know more about it thanks to the Millennium Rod, I can use these random effects you idiots have no idea about!" Plus he could do stuff like defusing himself with De-Fusion and stuff like that.

And Ragnarok, while manga originated, was definitely a one-time-oly card. How the hell else would that card be used in the card game, lol.

"I'm going to take every Monster in my deck, hand and Graveyard and remove them from play to destroy your only Defense Monster on the field!"

"..."

"What? I just destroyed your strong Monster!"

"I Summon Kuriboh."

*Kuriboh direct attacks 20 turns in a row while the opponent has no Monsters left to Summon.*

That about sums it up, lol.

Actually, Dimension Magic is what Yugi used to defeat Ra with. The way it was worded in the manga made its effect to destroy a monster a mix between a magic effect and an attack, making it able to get around Ra's protection effect.

It was used once more in YGO R to beat Tenma.

NAS apparently just thought Dimension Magic was not EPIC enough, or maybe they thought it made too much sense, I dunno.

Does anyone know if there going to show the Egyptian Gods cards in the movie, or just the cards in their deck shown in the trailer.

This will end up one silly, silly movie.

If Ragnarok's effect was to destroy all opponent's cards on his side of the filed for that high a cost. Meaning without targeting or anything.
At least it would fit with Ra's Tag Force and YGO! Online's effects which probably will be used if it becomes a real CCG version like Obelisk.

But NOO as JACK_ATLUS said, that NAS though of the finish of that duel that IT'S NOT EPIC ENOUGH!!!11!!!
Thats why they made it look as if all of the monsters in Yugi's deck are attacking Ra at the same time. And Ragnarok is just the excuse for this insanity. But the ppl that understand the rules at least a little, know that its Ragnarok that actually destroyed Ra and it still made even less sense.

Well, the last effect I saw for Ragnarok is requiring a dual combination of Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, Magician of Black Chaos, and/or Dark Sage on your field and you had to remove all monsters from your hand, Deck, and Graveyard from play to destroy and remove all your opponent's monsters from play that pretty much ignored any and all card effects (which is why Ra was able to be hit by it).

Though, that was one of the cool things about Yugi's/Atem's Duels against God Cards; the fact that they themselves beat them using their own stuff and not just another God Card. Yugi and Kaiba ending it with Black Paladin vs. BEUD over Obelisk vs. Osiris, Atem with Dimension Magic/Ragnarok and Yugi with Magnet Force + Valkyrion/Magnet Warriors + Osiris's own effect.

Yeah, destroy and remove from play only and all of the opponent's monsters is I think, a good enough effect for these stupid costs of that card, going by the standards of the card game in the anime.
Though, I've never heard about the part with Magician of Black Chaos, and/or Dark Sage.

Oh wow, sorry. I haven;t reached this point in the manga yet (At the end of the Battle Ship)

I mean, I KNOW how much different the anime is with some Duels, but I at least thought they would follow the final Duel properly... Guess NAS has a fetish for giant explosions and epic finales. ;o

Haven't finished R yet either. Now that it's coming in America I'll be sure to get that as well.

In Ra's defence, the entire point was that its effects were being revealed one by one, and only certain people could read them. That was one of the mysteries of the arc. It was a terrifying Swiss army knife. The only mystery about, say, Savior Star Dragon is "will Yusei use it?" The answer is yes.

Oh Ragnarok. You're clearly based on a Norse legend and yet your effect requires two Black Magicians. You make no sense.

I don't think so. I think that, the cards in the enemy's deck are more likely to be promo cards. If not that, then some special new cards in Yugi/Atem, Judai or Yusei's deck might be promo cards.

Well I doubt emailing Kazuki will get Miracle Contact released, Konami will decide if they want to release it as a real card sometime in the future or not.

Well, considering Ra is the most powerful card in the game, as far as the stroy's concerned, and that Kaiba hinted at Ra having one last ability that he didn't know about (Phoenix Mode) it's really not an "out of nowhere" card like Ragnarok or Savior ______ Dragon.

Lol, so true. At least Ra was unique at the time. Unfortunately when it was used in GX by some noob, it didn't seem as cool somehow. Maybe because he lacked what is Yami Malik insanity.

Though for real, I know he has a hand in making some new card images as shown in his manga releases. Not all of them though, just some.

The first movie was the one with Red-Eyes. And BESD wasn't that much of a cheat as Ragnarok and the Savior Dragons.
It was mentioned and talked about long before it was played(at least in the movie) and it had somewhat logical reason to be made behind it. Though it really does not have any background/origin to support its awesome powers and even shape, except that its a new monster that comes out of the old Blue-Eyes.

Ragnarok was a complete and utter cheat. It NEVER was mentioned or talked about or anything of the sort and after it it was like it never existed or was played. Heck even the Legendary Dragons with their magical card version were not that bad.

It's cool, nice music choice.

A nice mix of few of the best parts of the 3 shows.

Yeah, scenes were great, really captures the attention of the anyone who watches it.

Though I'm sure it can be done better. It looked to me like the dude didn't have the proper videos if he had to resort to dub episodes.

Hello! I'm "S," producer of the Yu-Gi-Oh Anime.
On the pages of the Staff Diary, I'll be revealing how things are going on production of "10th Anniversary: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie" and stories behind the scenes as production proceeds toward its release next year in early Spring.

Now, right off the bat, have all of you checked the title of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie? That's right!

Well? It says "Super Fusion"!
Not just any regular "Fusion," but "Super Fusion"!

Because, when you add a "super" to plain "natural ability," you get "supernatural ability." Amazing what happens when you add a "super." A "human" becomes "super human"! "Alloy" becomes "superalloy"! "Garden" becomes "Garden Superb"*!

...Sorry, got sidetracked there. Let's try changing the mood.

What exactly does "Super Fusion" detail?
Something to do with Judai Yuki's patented "Fusion Summoning"?
Or maybe it means our three heroes--Yugi, Judai and Yusei--will fuse?
Or maybe it could mean...?

Well, the mystery and expectations thicken.
