People are talking a lot about Promos that will be with this movie but has it actually been confirmed that there will be 3 new cards with this movie or is it all speculation?

There hasn't been any news if there is any promos, but I wouldn't doubt it if they did.

That would depend on the region the dvd is for but since hasn't been announcement for an english language version yet.
Did the japanese dvd release of Pyramid of Light come with promos? Where I am POL dvd didn't have anyway of obtaining promos elsehere the special promo I think it was a send in offer. We just had the movie animanga which came with a god card, the 4 promos at the theaters & the movie booster.

Knowing 4kids, they gave no promos in the DVD and gave us a half-assed DVD with crappy extras.

I really hope they don't get their hands on the DVD and let Funi do it instead.

IF 4kids do get there tentacles on this I doubt we would ever see light of day of this in the UK. We don't seem to get new yugioh DVDs anymore but then again many view the UK anime market as being dead.

Small bit of news, an acquaintance of mine who I've known for a long time whilst studying in japan has given me some interesting merchandise news. His father works at konomi in the toys and hobbies division Apparently a remote control Duel runner (size of a normal RC car) has just finished being designed and a prototype is being built. If I hear more I'll let you know.

4K!ds have to get their hands on the useless 5D's OVA first and then maybe think on the movie.
But I really doubt by now that they have the recourses to deal with a anime movie of any kind.

I was wondering if the movie would shed some light on the whole "Is 5D's an AU?" situation (I don't know if there has been a consensus on this issue), but unfortunately, it doesn't.

Spoiler: Saving space

(Distances between each period weren't made with accuracy in mind. It's just for illustrating the timelines themselves.)

Even if 5D's was an AU (A1 and A2), it is still connected to the same past. If Paradox manages to erase Pegasus and the creation of Duel Monsters, the world after it would be nullified. Because by erasing Pegasus, he erases Duel Monsters as well. Sure, the future might have gone differently, but now Paradox's reason to travel back in time is nullified as well, he can't travel back to erase Duel Monsters because it doesn't exist. And thus he can't go back to erase Duel Monsters, which would mean that Duel Monsters could go on existing, but he already erased it, so...

By nullifying the past, everything after it disappears, including the normal continuation of the timeline or any other branches.

If 5D's isn't an AU (B), then everything would cease to exist due to the paradox, no AUs involved.

The outcome is the same in both situations.

So basically in both scenarios with 5d's being an AU or in the same universe/timeline there still is a paradox. I guess he's is able to break the laws of the paradox theory because his name is Paradox and he is the big bad in a upcoming movie about a childrens card game.

Interesting ! Even If Paradox came from the future, the outcome is identical. Your graph indicates another question: how many years Paradox came from the future ? I think little time, partcularly If Dark Glass came also from the future.

We don't know exactly the number of the years between DM and GX and between GX and 5'd's. I think something like 3 years between DM and GX (according to Sugoruku) and 17 years between GX and 5d's (Zero Reverse). I suppose this and series gave us no one evidence for the timelines, only clues.

I tried to explore Yugioh's timeline before in this entry, but it only covers Duelist Kingdom and before its events because of my lack of knowledge on the later arcs. DM takes place in 1992 (and finishes in ~1993, possibly), GX takes place in 2004-2007. As for 5D's, the city already looked rather modern before the Zero Reverse, compared to what it looked like during GX. If we follow the 5D's manga's clues, 5D's takes place in 20??. I assumed 5D's takes place X+17 years after GX. (The biggest number X can be is 82.)

An excellent entry on the timeline Arynis ! For GX time, you think at 10 years old about the professionnel in GX's season 2 who mentionned he is the first of the professional ligue since 10 years old ?

About 5d's modenity before Zero Reverse, I don't know. Domino City is very little seen in GX. The city doesn't seems have changed but maybe Tops already exists.

I'm not sure what do you mean, but DD (the professional you are referring to?) was at the top of the league for ten years. Season 2 took place during 2005-2006, which would place the start of the Pro Leagues in 1995-1996, shortly after the end of DM.

As for pre-Zero Reverse, Domino City looked fairly developed in the flashbacks of Episode 57.

Jono-Uchi has 16 years old according to Duel 42, Vol 7. So, If Yugi and Anzu had the same, they would have 28 at the beginnig of Gx, 30 at the end and 47 years old in 5d's at Yusei's time.

Actually, they would be 29 at the end of GX. 5D's is still questionable since we don't know exactly when it takes place.

It's a music news program which is going to introduce the movie, and KENN is apparently going to perform, too.

Anyway, from what I can gather from this, it says it is going to be aired on TV Tokyo at 3:15 AM on the 9th of November (10th of November being the repeat broadcast). Since we already missed the first broadcast, only the repeat broadcast is left. That would make it 6:15 PM (UTC+0000) on Monday evening for Europeans. (It's Monday for Europe because Japan is ahead of us.) For the US East Coast, it's 1:15 PM on Monday as well. This site looks handy to determine the time the programme starts if you have trouble with timezones.

We should get on Keyhole to check it out, then! (If I got anything wrong from that translation, please tell me ASAP! I'd hate to spread wrong information. D: )

Apparently there's going to be a special music program on TV Tokyo which introduces the movie as well as having KENN perform in it. I posted the details in my previous post.

People on 2chan missed the first broadcast it seems, so our only chance is tomorrow to catch the programme. Let's check it out on Keyhole, everyone!

I hope they'll reveal something... or if nothing new comes to surface, at least they'll show us something nice. : P

Hey, Arynis, that 11/9 thing means that it'd be airing on Monday, November 9th (the 月 means "Monday" here). Likewise, it'll be encored on Tuesday the 10th. Said encore would be on at 1:15pm on the East Coast, if it's airing at 6:15 in Europe (I don't think DST's playing a part here now).

And yeah, I believe the US has had their DSTs by this point as well, so you don't have to worry about converting from the time I specified.

I also found a site which appears to convert UTC time according to your location, I added it to my post. Also added your time to save some time for others. :D

All I know is that it is a music programme of some sort. And something about PVs. (Promotional videos)

I also found this on the Anison Plus+ site, a streaming page. It appears you can view past programmes via streaming here. The quality is pretty nice, too - we could hope of tonight's broadcast to appear there sometime in the future. (Which is way better than Keyhole's quality... ;_; )

If someone wants to watch this, it is going to air in an hour.

And about keyhole, it depends on how fast your Internet connection is, if its fast it doesn't freeze.

I'm watching it now through Keyhole, and it's been on some stuff about Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei for the last ten or so minutes, and it's on something about "Love & Face" now. If this is an hour long, I'd expect the YGO stuff around 1:45.

EDIT: We've got liftoff.

EDIT 2: Not much went on, just Shunsuke, KENN, and Yuya shouting "Ore no taan!", promoting the movie (which comes out January 23rd, if it wasn't already revealed), telling us to look forward to it, and end by shouting "Taan endo!". Was kinda cool hearing the three shout in unison, though. XD (There was also some clips of them voicing their characters, Yuya having Yusei say something about having no choice but to rely on their bonds; I forgot what KENN and Shunsuke said.)

This was one of the best things I have seen in my entire life.
You don't see the three seiyuus of the main protagonists make the voice for them so often.

I managed to capture the YGO segment, unfortunately the video quality is fubar. The audio quality is pretty good, however. (Although my audio output is a bastard, and now I don't even know if it's loud or too quiet. Ack.) I'll see if I can get it on Youtube shortly...

Ah. Now that I took a second look at it, the stream only covers the first 20 minutes. Bummer.

Anyway, I noticed that their dialogue seems to be from the end part of the storyboard, heh. Endgame spoilers! Yusei says something about "all of their monsters being revived", so perhaps they are making some kind of a comeback?

Hah, Yugi's VA is the shortest.

KENN also looks alot like what Judai would look like if he wasn't, y'know, animated.
