Also, if anyone is interested, I have a new post up where I collected some of my Paradox related analysis. There's one I haven't mentioned in Janime yet, but here it is in brief:

    Spoiler: Image - Saving space

As you can see, Paradox's locks of hair seem to go through the same transformation/corruption as the Sin monsters' wings do. (I used Sin Rainbow Dragon here, but I could've picked any Sin monster, really.) His shoulderpads cannot be seen when he is unmasked, but they were visible on that picture from the recent V-Jump issue, so I do not know how do the shoulderpads connect to Paradox and/or his abilities.

Or if it's not his lock of hair, well... they are some... thingies, anyway.
Your theory is very interesting Arynis. Your post give me an idea: It is possible that Paradox is himself corrupted by something, like the dragons ?

I still am going with my theory that his ruined future is a representation of the sins of mankind. Adding to that theory with your idea, it is possible he himself is also corrupted by these "sins", thus resulting in the Sin Monsters.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. But that makes you ask how he exactly got the ability to turn the monsters into Sin monsters AND the capability of time travel.

I guess the latter could be easily explained - the plot demands it, or the technology is modern enough, or he happened to be a genius who managed to figure out how to do it. We don't know exactly how he does it, so we can only guess for now.

The ability could be kind of like how can a curse or corruption give you powers. Perhaps he tapped into the potential of his corruption and took advantage of it. It could be that time is not only running out for the protagonists (stopping Paradox before he kills Pegasus) but for Paradox as well (saving the future before it gets destroyed for good, or until the corruption kills him or turns him into an abomination).

I could also see Paradox merely wanting to come to the past for assistance, but his mind got corrupted and his viewpoints on the world became skewed, forming his actual goal he wants to accomplish. Maybe it's the corruption ordering Paradox to kill Pegasus. Or it's the mask to blame, it's the Yugioh version of Majora's Mask! :V Granted, this would be a repeat of the possession/mind control/corruption plots from DM, GX and 5D's.

It's still a possibility he's doing everything out of his own decision, and the curse is really just an ability.

Good idea GoldenUmi ! But this sins are caused by the cards. In destroy Duel Monsters, humans can not be corrupted by the cards. Cards cause avarice, jealousy, angry, suffer... Certains persons are or become sad because of the cards. In same time, he prevent the future to be destroy. It's a double good action for Paradox at final.

I think Paradox is a good person who become corrupted by his objectif, prevent the destruction of the future even If it implies to destroy the future of a lot of person. Because he thinks It's for a good cause ! I say corrupte because he do bad things like steals cards because his objectif. Paradox is a good intentioned character but he goes at extreme like Arynis had said.

In same time, Paradox, If he realizes his objectif, destroy his owns future at himself. So, It's again a paradox.

Yeah, that what I was thinking. I'm certain his corruption somehow gave him this ability. Perhaps he has somehow been left behind by time.

I don't think it's just the cards that hold sins, but just mankind in general. Think of it like being a collection of the world's sins, namely Sin World. But I agree with your theory that Paradox means good, he just has the wrong idea of how to go about it.

Yes, maybe his corruption had created his ability to change the cards in "Sin" monster.

You think that Paradox would create a world without sins ? A world where misfortune, jealousy, angry, avarice.. doesn't exist ? A perfect world or something like that ?

Perhaps it's not necassarily corruption but Sin is a new method in the games future. So just like how Syncro will be alien to Yugi, Sin is alien to Yusei as it is a game mode developed later on.
Perhaps then this explains Pardoxs appearence. Maybe the new DD require physical participation of a play for certain monsters to be summoned.

Red Eyes Black Dragon- Black people.
    Gandora Dragon Of Destruction- Self-improvement
    Stardust Dragon- Science
    Cyber End Dragon- Tecnological Advancement
    Rainbow Dragon- Homosexuality
    Armed Dragon- Evolution
Black Rose Dragon- Emoness and Dominatrix-ness
    Red Demon Dragon- Pride

This is a joke btw, thought i may needed to make it clearer

Lol, but wouldn't those three be the same? From a certain prospective, you can say these three are the same thing.

Interesting idea. If the grandfather paradox destroyed the past, however, there would be simply no world to exist (or it would still exist, but things would be very, very messy). Or perhaps Paradox hopes that by destroying Duel Monsters, he would create a world -a future- with hope. However, this would work only if mankind's sin came solely from Duel Monsters, but even if you consider that "Darkness of the Heart" theme, it is impossible to rid the world of sin.

By the way, here's some merchandise info:

    遊戯王の放送10周年を記念したアニメブックが2010年1月21日に発売されるそうです。本日発売の月刊 Vジャンプに情報が載っています。
    アニメブックの正式名称は「遊戯王 10th Anniversary Animation Book」です。本の内容は「遊戯王」3大アニメの軌跡に加え、公開直前の劇場版の情報がぎっしり詰まって いるとのこと。価格は1000円(税込)となっています。

It appears we will be getting an "animation book" for the movie. An art book, perhaps? Considering that Yugioh never had anything like that, this would be damn cool. I could see it either centered around the movie, or just being a book featuring art of the characters from the three series. It is to be released on the 21st of January.

I'd love an art book with full-color drawings of characters, plus stock-art for some of those anime-only monsters.

Mind if I try my hand at translating it?

"In memory of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s 10th Anniversary, we're releasing an animation book on January 21st, 2010. Expect the book to be offered in Monthly V-Jump. The animation book is officially known as the "Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Animation Book." This guide contains information on the marvels(?) of the three grand anime series, in addition to data about the movie itself, all in one. This book will sell at a price of 1000 yen(including tax(?)."

In U.S. dollars, it seems the price is somewhere around $11, if anyone is planning to import. Take this with salt-grains, etc.

An artbook? For Yugioh? Is this Minus World?

Although it sounds less like an actual artbook and more like a movie/anime accompaniment guide.

Why, Japan views Obama as a failure, worse than Bush, as well as the rest on Asia, as far as I have heard.

    im goin to say this:

i think the SIN dragons each represent a different aspect of humans& their sins:

    blue-eyes: power

    red-eyes: over confidence

    armed dragon: over domination

    rainbow: sex.... yes i said

    gandora: war

    stardust: perfection

    red dragon: pride& arrogance

    black rose: self-destruction& suicide

    cyber end: technological advancement

i took this seriously tho these are the main things causin death in the world (i changed rainbow from a joke tho )

Keep the politics out of my YGO kthx dudes.

Anyways on the book, if its more information then art and such, I would love to see some tibits on the characters that haven't been mentioned anywhere else, birthdates, backstories details, things of that sort. And perhaps interviews too~

An artbook ? It's a books who contains only pictures ? My brother owns a book like this on Dragon Ball Z.

If it contains others informations on the characters, it will also ressemble a little at gospel of truth ?

It appears we will be getting an "animation book" for the movie. An art book, perhaps? Considering that Yugioh never had anything like that, this would be damn cool. I could see it either centered around the movie, or just being a book featuring art of the characters from the three series. It is to be released on the 21st of January.
By the way....from what I could understand from the translator, this animation book will include information about the movie's theater edition just before the opening to the public as well as some track of the movie, if I could believe in the translator . The price is 1000 yen (including tax).
Anyway.....I guess that book will be closely connected to the 10th Anniversary Movie and it will probably show some new info and screenshots just before the grand premiere. But just may be.

Gandora Dragon Of Destruction - Genocide
    Stardust Dragon - Materialistic
Cyber End Dragon - Technological Advancement
    Rainbow Dragon - Homosexuality

*facedesk* Like i said on the end of the list, it's a JOKE, only BEWD and RDD are kinda real sins to throw people off for added comedic effect, but i don't mean anything serious with the list. I don't think Black people, Science [evolution and tecnology], homosexuality, self-improvement [this one was supposed to make it clear that it's a joke D=] or dominatrixness are sins.

    Hmm...

I don't think this book will be like the Gospel of Truth. Maybe it'll have just general information, but not some kind of data book, unfortunately. It should be interesting though.

Well it's a hell of a lot cheaper than DVD Japanese material. Any idea if I can get this off of CDJapan or a site that posts stuff in English so I can assure myself I'm not ordering the Japanese version of Spongebob Squarepants by mistake?

It talks about the Sin monsters and the Animation Book, I believe. It also has the comment from Takahashi there.

As for today's monster... we got JOSSED. Badly. Nice job writers, I suppose. I guess that may make the Movie pack fake, too, unless it's simply because they are not showing every monster in the eyecatches.

I don't think it would be a Sin monster, it doesn't bear the usual Sin patterns. It looks more like a fusion of Judai's. The sword, the shield and the hair reminds me of Black Luster Soldier, too. I'm wondering if the remaining cards actually showcase the protagonists' monsters. (Producers, back us up with a diary entry? :< )

He looks like a fusion btwn Neo's and Buster Blader. The sword and the shield and the armor style.

Buster Blader never had a shield. Plus he never had orange hair while Black Luster Soldier does.

Maybe It's a Sin fusion monster ? Neos appears during the duel in the trailer. Maybe Paradox will take Neos during the duel against Yusei, Yugi and Judai ?
For moment, no one card who own at Yugi is apeared.

Im talking about the armor and color of the shield. The hair is a different story but his head piece looks similiar to the style of him. So any other ideas you have that you wanna speculate?
