Thanks Ojama - for both - the info and the scans.
The art doesn't look so bad, although I hope in the OVA to be the same like on the background picture from YGO10TH.COM.

Warner Cinemas Mycal other country, will be released in theaters nationwide

Well, I wish this movie was aired earlier . 10/12/2009 sounded like a good date, but the spring of 2010 doesn't sound so bad after all . Well, at least the fact the OVA is said to be a movie and that it'll air in cinemas, may probably mean that the OVA will be longer than 30 minutes . There is some light at the end of the tunel . And that villain Paradox seems really evil. The fact he's riding a D-Wheel also gives some hope that we'll actually see the 3 protagonists envolved in riding duel, the idea of which I really like . But there's gotta be some preview to air soon . I'll also search in Pixiv for full size of this scan with HQ. Who knows, I may have luck.
Holy shit, so many new developments!!

Seriously, having to wait till 2012 is so damn worth it if this turns out to be a proper 1 hour or longer movie length. Maybe they DO listen to the fans every now and then.

Ummm... It says 2010. Where are you pulling 2012 from? Movies generally go from country to country/from film to DVD in country of origin within 6 months...

Anywho, my hopes are not high for this film. The villain looks like a Digimon Frontier reject, it's in 3D (ew), and it may involve Yugi and Judai on D-Wheels. Still, I suppose it's a nice landmark. Finally having a proper theatrical movie to the franchise's name is kind of cool.

The Pyramid of Light movie had a theatrical movie.
In America, anyway, so this movie would be just as good, with free cards to boot! 8D

    -shot-

Anyway....my exceptions for the film is somewhat in the middle for this film. I won't expect something epic, but at the same time, I'm, not expecting total failure.
Like GoldenUmi, I want my other character cameos.

I think It's probable to see GX and DM others characters. A film can't comport only 3 characters.

Yeah, true, even with the villain. Maybe the others will Duel against some of the minions on the side or something as Tag Teams.

A large blonde villain? In MY yuugimans movie? This does not bode well.

Until we find out who the writer is for this thing, of if any of the minor characters play any roll at all and it's confirmed to not just be YUUGIJUDAIYUSEIFEST!1!, I'm going to save myself disappointment and not hype myself up for it.

well, with a villain named Paradox, its not hard to imagine how Yusei and his predecessors meet up (at their prime no less) although, im still kinda pissed that they're refusing to show Yugi as an adult (aside from GX episodes 1 and 179 where he got the same upperface treatment as Yliaster-man) which doesn't make sense as hes supposed to overcome Atem and be stronger by himself but meh.. either way, wheter this movie sucks or rocks, it will be nice to see Yugi, Judai and hopefully others again.

Because Yugi wasn't the main character of the original series, Atem was. Well, it was kind of a shared spotlight, but the story was more Atem's than Yugi's, hence the "My story is only just beginning." ending.

I know, I felt like throwing it out there anyway.
Still, I wouldn't call that movie 4kids devil spawn.
Unlike Capsule Monsters, PoL got aired and even got a novel based on that movie in Japan. xD

I didn't think PoL was that bad either. I mean, it wasn't an amazing movie, but it's pretty much what I expected a Yu-Gi-Oh movie to be like.

im not talking about DM, im talking about GX and this movie, the point of DM's ending was that Atems finally put to rest and Yugis time is just beginning, which is why so many people WTFed when Muscle!Yugi sent Judai to the past to duel his younger self rather than to fight YUGI, but i guess it was nice and nostalgic to see Atem again, but regardless i really hope that they can get there original voice actor back, and it will be interesting to see Yugi/Atem and Judai with D-Wheels (and probably with some kind of Dark Magician and E-Hero Synchro)

Say, since this is part DM, do you think LK would be interesting in Abridging it? I mean he did it with the other two movies so far, and that very first movie I didn't expect him to do at all. Of course it'll depend on how it goes because if there's no balance between everyone, meaning only the 5Ds cast is mostly centered, then I doubt it. But then again, we don't even know who else is in this movie.

Anyway, hopefully a trailer comes out soon. If it's to be in 3D *meaning the visuals come at us, think with today's big 3D wonder*, then expect many attacks being flung at us.

Okay, so if Super Fusion is what causes this whole thing, I can picture what will probably happen:

Rather than than have Yugi and Judai themselves transport through time, most likely the time dimensions of all three periods will literally collide. So Domino City of Yugi's time will clash with Domino City ten years later with Judai's time and then Neo Domino City of Yusei's.

The only weird thing would be that older Yugi and older Judai would still be in Yusei's world, but they probably won't explore that. But I am hoping this is the case, as it will allow the other characters from all the series to be transported as well.

We could say that its not the movie fault, effing things up is just something 4KIDS does. That movie was basically to interest little kids into YGO again and make some more money out of the poor dumb children backs.

I heard the novel was pretty good though.

Just to be clear, what's being shown at the Jump Anime Tour is essentially footage from this movie...sort of like a sneak peek. The movie will be released theatrically in Spring 2010.

Also, the Pyramid of Light movie had a limited Japanese theatrical release, for any of those wondering.

How well did Pyramid of Light perform in Japan?

Yu-Gi-Oh has more popularity over there than in America I assume, since now that it's no longer a fad you don't see it mentioned in the mainstream enough. Adding to the fact it was an anime movie, it was obviously doomed to fail in America no matter how good it could've been. A simmilar issue is how if PUSA released a Pokemon Movie in theaters it would likely bomb now, but in Japan they're 12 Movies in and they still hit the top of the charts. Although I wonder if part of that is due to their extra incentives...

Although, the last issue of Entertainment Magazine gave it a mention which made me laugh.

Well that sucks, I thought it would be released around September/October. Meh, at least it'll be more then an hour long. Here's hoping paradox has some pretty decent cards. Plus I can't wait to see how judai and Yugi react to Paradox's Synchros.

The movie is more than an hour...That's just so awesome, we get more Atem screen time ^_^

I have to say that this villain has a pretty freaky design, lol.

I was hoping that the major villains in all three shows united somehow through the magic of time travel and dueled Atem, Judai, Yusei, and friends. But I know that's ludicrous and is a total pipe dream he he he.

aww man.... not til next year...

I wonder if this movie will be released in the U.S. like the Pyramid of Light was..

    Free cards anyone? Probably not...

Anime movies released in theaters isn't a big deal in the U.S. The last animated movie was Pokemon before they started to justg go to DvDs. Or was it Yu-Gi-Oh? Can't remember...

    look forward to this movie!

Like I said before, waiting till next year will be totally worth it. Now that I know this will be more than 30 minutes long, I can relax and actually expect it to be good.

Anime movies never do good in America, because everyone here sees something animated (unless it airs with South Park, The Simpsons or Family Guy, or any of those "adult" animated stuff) and automatically assumes it to be bad and for children. Granted Shonen anime is aimed at teenagers, but America gives all anime the impressions that only a five year old can watch it. It's sickening, really.

I... feel as if I should grab a sacrificial dagger and sacrifice myself as an offering to appease the Yugioh gods, because them being as careless as to let something like this be created shows that something obviously pissed them off.

This is just wrong on so many levels. It's going to be awful. I know it is. It's already spilling out cliches. And the villiain... really? Paradox is already bad enough (as if we haven't already had millions of villains/heroes with that name or idea), but... just look at how he looks. You gotta be kidding me. That's not menacing... that's Exotic Night Tuesday at the gay bar downtown.

...But, if this movie does get a release here in the US and we do get free, new promo cards that come with every ticket to the movie, ****. I'll surrender, drop to my knees and declare I'm a pussy because I'd be going the day it comes out to see it just to get those cards.

Jesus Christ, way to be optimistic. The majority of the fans here are pleased with this, so why the sour attitude? It's not really out of the ordinary in terms of previous YGO history, whether you like that concept or not.

    Holy Crips!

This is a MOVIE!? That makes it the 3rd film from the series!? >.>

That's friggin sweet! Now things are starting to get interesting. The animation looks good (Haranimation good?) for this and the villain looks weird but looks to be a very strong bad guy. And the trio will finally meet eachother at long last... My blood is pumping with excitement!

While I don't know how well it did, I do know that NAS redid the plot and the characters lines in their dub of it in an attempt to make it, not-so fail. Kaiba was awesome in the Japanese PoL. lol

Is it 3rd? I think it's the second, following after Pyramid of Light. Or, am I missing something?

There was a TV film for the original Toei series. But this is the second theatrical film.

I know. In this movie, all three series will be represented by their protagonists in their prime. That's why they're using Atem instead of an older Yugi.

And that makes it good? Generally Yugioh plots that dealt with this kind of stuff were awful, too. Yuugi VS Juudai, for example, had a similar plot of bending time so that the two main protagonists from the two different series could meet and duel. Some people liked it, but majority of the Yugioh fans thought it was a huge failure. It was a stupid idea, they pulled it off poorly, and it was an awful, awful ending to the mediocre GX.

Oh, and last I checked, everyone is allowed to voice their own opinions. I think it's going to be a god-awful movie, some people don't. Don't go ballistic just because you don't agree or like what I said. If anything, just move on and ignore me, eh?

Well regardless of what some think thus far, I'm hyped. I mean, damn, its a NAS Yu-Gi-Oh! movie, it's gonna awesome. 3D? Riding duels? Atem, Judai AND Yusei? Sign me up!

I'm excited, 2010 is gonna be a fantastic year.

..."Balistic"? Whatever. You haven't seen me go anywhere close to that.

No one said you couldn't state your opinion, but there's still no reason to bash it that bad when we haven't seen any previews. Wait until the 30 minute OVA preview coming next month, then we'll actually have something to go on.

Yes, Judai VS Yugi was done poorly, but the concept itself of the two meeting is a good idea. But he should have Dueled present time Yugi.

The time bending thing may be cliche, but it is the best way to celebrate all three YGO series. That way characters/locations from each time period will be presented in the movie.

Actually, there will be a preview of it next month, as GoldenUmi just posted...

If it does come to the US, I would say free cards are very likely.
Still, if by the time the movie reaches US shores, it's been shown to suck, you can always pay for a movie ticket, and go sneak in to another movie.

That's how my oldest brother got me two BESD cards back in the PoL days. xD

I still wonder why ThenPresent!Yugi didn't just duel Judai right there, instead of busting out more magic hax to go back to the past, but meh.
Not like I can really rant on that, I hardly really paid attention to GX 179.
