Lmao, or maybe Yami Marik and Bakura both revive and team up with Darkness to take over ze world!

Sounds like a bad fanfic. But hell, I'd pay to see Bakura and Yami Marik make a return any day!

I don't think the plot will be connected either with Zork or with the millenium items. I even think the story line won't have anything in common with the plot of all 3 series. I expect something copletely different. But, who knows?! This is YGO. Everything can be expected.

The only possible way to see Yami Yugi and Yugi at one time involved in the OVA.

If he still sounds like that, I'll won't be able to enjoy the OVA.
Unless that actor got better, but still....
Um, remember that the voice actor that played Yugi started out as a teenager on the show. His voice did change at the end and my niece even noticed that because you couldn't tell the difference anymore. He's in his 20's and his voice must be deeper now.

Well they are claiming it will be a "whole new adventure" so we will see...

The OVA will be released between October 12th and November 29th.
The exact date when the OVA airs isn't still announced.

The 5Ds OVA had no real relation to the 5Ds story line.

So they really *dont* have to explain why all 3 characters are in the same time line, other than "because its a special episode and they are".

I dont think the OVA is going to be really long, so not really sure id want them wasting too much of the episode discussing the whole "Why are we here together!? lets explain the random events that took place....".

Probably be a free for all riding duel lol. Millenium Dwheel XD but regardless it will be really nice to see Yugi/Atem in a new (if short) adventure.

I actually think it would be really funny having Yami comment on the dueling of the future and be surprised that their dueling on a motorcycle now and just be confused while Yugi just has this meh face on him

The only thing I really care about is how old they are going to be and they are going to pull off that "time travel" stunt, I guess they should at least explain that. I just want to know how old Yugi will be here, Judai not so much.

Yeah, this OVA will probably be simply a non-canon "dream match".

Which imo is better then trying to put them together and make sense. Just sit back and enjoy.

It probably is. Thats how long these OVAs usually are anyway. I mean look at "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!" that came out last year, and that was an anniversary special as well, for Dragon Ball. You'd think DB would get an hour long movie at least, but I digress, it will most likely be 30 min. for the YGO special.

    Quoted for truth.

There is no way Yugi, Judai, and Yusei would get more than two turns each in a duel if this OVA-esque episode was only thirty minutes. It just simply would not work; it would be so incredibly crammed.

And assuming it might just be the three of them dueling in this special, it would end up like Episode 92 of GX (The Triangle Duel). Plus, the writers and the animators need to the set the premise for it and everything. Through my eyes, a good premise would take up the entire first half of the episode (if it is only 30 minutes), but if that was the case, the duel would be short and sloppy.

    30-Minute Episode = Lose-Lose Situation :/

    Let's brainwash the animators, or whoever is doing the OVA. (It'll be 1 hour,It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour, It'll be 1 hour. )

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Ah anyway. I guess we all suspected this UNADEQUATE progress of the events. ( 30 minutes - what these people are thinking????? ) The only thing what left is to see the TRAILER. Hope at least this to be able to compensate the short lasting time. ( The trailer must be something REALLY SUPER, SPECIAL, AWSOME , or the sequels for my optical mouse won't be good. XD I'm on the edge of breaking it. XD)

Well given that this will be a "dream match", I can already picture it looking like this.

Rua has a wet-dream about the three greatest duelists on the planet (Yugi, Judai, and Yusei), coming together to duel in the Kaiba Dome, or whatever the hell they called it during Season 1. Duel is a Triangle Duel between the three, and somehow, they all end with no result because then, Rua wakes up and realizes he wet the bed again.

On a serious note, the duel should be a Triangle duel since there are three main characters dueling together, and it's a "dream match" that only the fans would love to see so...why not?

The fans of the TCG may be, but still the fans of the characters and the plot won't be much happy about this.
Anyway, still better than nothing. ( If this is going to be Triangle duel only, I'll enjoy only the animation. )

You can't honestly think that there will be a good plot in a 30min episode to showcase the three YGO heroes dueling for the first (and probably only) time.

I still don't get how people can possibly still watch YGO and not like watching card games...

Sounds to me like OVA = makes no sense to any related material, or can even make no sense at all The megaman cartoon was a co production in America AND Japan yet the OVA not only makes little sense, but has NOTHING to do with the cartoonime (pronounced "car toon ee may" despite any possible grammatical sense). Sorry but I doupt the crossover will have a real plot, or else it would take up the time invoved in the epic duel! Also now that I think of it OVAs seldom connect with the source animes or video games to begin with, they are completely seperate from what I can tell. Even if AosTH or SonicSatAM wasn't an anime, I'm sure most kids in japan had seen them. Yet the sonic OVAs again had nothing to do with either one nor the games.... also it seems the PR was worng on a Summer date x.x also were those magazine scans proven fake? It seems like we would know that the characers "collaborate".

good to see you here I'm not an active member. Anyway you read that the worng way, 4kids was anwsering why they censor the card art so you can't see the atk/def and I saw silver wing's art on another card which proves this (don't u just love the dub errors? I don't see why they can't coexist.

After all, most of the best duels usually take place in the best episodes.

That being said, I do hope this OVA is more cool than plot centric, since trying to make a decent plot would hurt it. Just give us good animation, trademark music from each series, and classic cards being used by each guy along with some cool new ones.

Well, maybe in the beginning of the episode, some random narrator says there's some sort of time rip where 3 heros meet for a destined duel or something random like that. Afterwards they're like "Hey, hello, 'sup?" a few funnies here and there and then a duel. Then, duel ends with each character using their favorite/best monster to attack one another because of some random card effect and OVA ends before the direct attacks, that way it wouldn't upset either fandom and say they're equal. *shrug*

Yes, and while they Duel, we see every other character, both villain and non-villain, sitting on the bleachers. Kaiba, Jack and Manjoume share an elegant conversation about how the world revolves not around the sun, but around themselves, which then leads them to argue who is the better man. Jounouchi, Honda, Otogi, Sho and Crow enjoy a messy cheesburger eating contest while Pegasus, Sieg, Saiou and Godwin sit beside them sipping tea. Anzu, Shizuka, Mai, Rebecca, Asuka, Rei, Ruka and Aki discuss what life as a Yu-Gi-Oh! female is like, and Misawa pops in and says hello to him, but they have no idea who he is. Meanwhile, at the back of the bleachers, Marik, Bakura, Darkness and Rudger busy themselves while carving up the announcer for spouting such useless mumbo jumbo.

15 minutes are wasted on such events, and then we see the Duel, in which Yugi has now Summoned all three God Cards for no qdequatly explored reason. Judai and Yusei bring out their ace monsters, and attempt to foolishly attack the Gods with no hope of winning. Then the screen goes white and Yusei and Judai stand under a shining sun, vowing to get stronger. They then run off in the direction of the wind. And thus starts the birth of Yu-Gi-Oh! ABCD where the protaginist wields a birthmark in the shape of a D, which later switches with some random nobody and turns into an A, thus starting the process over again.

And they all lived happily every after until the next evil threat occurs.

Okay, as stupid as that was, I just can't see how they can possibly pull off an entertaining and well thought out piece of work in only 30 minutes. I have a feeling we won't get to see the other characters.

You've never talked to Takahashi, and he's never said anything in interviews about not wanting GX or 5D's to exist. Especially as he likely gets royalties and all that from them, I doubt he harbors any vendetta against them or anything like that.

Seriously, some people like GX and 5D's, and some even were introduced to the series because of them. They're part of the Yu-Gi-Oh Franchise and are just as legitimate as any other thing in the series. There is no reason why a 10th Anniversary can't pay homage to all three series. The end.
And, after he remade the cover art for his mangas, he also added a few afterwords, and in there he talks about character design, and that even though he's wanted YGO to end for a while now, he's still proud of what's been done. Go download all the images; you'll find the cursive english sooner or later.

Well, if it goes as you planned it, it'll be hilarious. That's quite entertaining.

But I'm sure they have something up their sleeves. If YGO is good at one thing, it's mega epic-fying a simple card game. We'll all be in awe at the end of it, and no one will remember what our guesses were at the end.

You think for a 10th anniversary it would be longer than 30 min. Maybe the length of Yu-Gi-Oh The Movie?

Wow, this is very informative. It seems that Takahashi did design the characters and the basic setting. He also said it takes place in the "near future" so I think that Yugi and co as well as Judai and co could very well still be alive, and Ushio as well.

But I'm sure they have something up their sleeves. If YGO is good at one thing, it's mega epic-fying a simple card game. We'll all be in awe at the end of it, and no one will remember what our guesses were at the end.
Lol, I'll still watch it either way of course and probably like it enough even if they just show the protagonists. But I really would like to see the characters interacting.

It's still in production, so it could change. Let's hope anyway.

The Past, The Present, and The Future will meet each other in one epic OVA movie! That's just beyond awesome!

This will be the best crossover ever, knowing this 3 together. They can defeat the whole world! >W<

Yu-Gi-Oh 10th Anniversary special is rather interesting. Having Yugi,Jaden, and Yusei gather in one place. I wonder what makes that happen. I always admire the King of Games Yugi Moto.

There is some kind of new iformation in the 10th Anniversary site.

I'm not sure if this new info is about the YGO OVA, and sorry if this isn't much important.

Its talking about a 5D's present and a quiz. Probably the same thing we got at the end of episode 71, with the question.

OK, dont get the idea, but I Dont find any sense in making an OVA of 30 minutes with 3 heroes; I mean, All cant happen in 30 minutes!
How are they gonna get reunited? Will there be a "Royal battle"? Villains? Come ON!!!

    Any idea of the launch?

All of us think the same as you, and remember that there will be an opening for this special (or not) and this would take 1 or 2 minutes and we only have 28 minutes for the characters to introduce themselves resolve the problem and returning to where each of them belong.

    Edit:
theres an ending song too, so 1 or 2 minutes less.

After all, most of the best duels usually take place in the best episodes.

That being said, I do hope this OVA is more cool than plot centric, since trying to make a decent plot would hurt it. Just give us good animation, trademark music from each series, and classic cards being used by each guy along with some cool new ones.
*raises hand* I read the manga instead of watching the anime of DM because the duels were so incredibly boring (one reason I have yet to watch GX: the term "Duel Academy" strikes incredible fear into my heart). When I got to the intolerably long Battle City duels, I just skipped books. One of the best things about 5Ds is that the only interminably long duel in it (Rua vs. Demak) is its own mini-arc and is easily skipped.

To be fun a duel has to be interesting or have some new element about it that hasn't been done before - my personal favourites are tag-team duels, because it's cool to see how the characters use each others' decks to their mutual advantage, but there are a lot of other ways to make a duel fresh for those of us who are not active TCG players. That's really why I'm gunning for this to be Yuusei/Jyuudai/Yuugi vs. Other - watching how each generation's cards (which even I know are drastically different from one another) meld to work together would be just AWESOME.

If it is only 30 minutes, unfortunately, it probably will be some totally plotless and pointless duel that has nothing to do with anything, which I would find incredibly disappointing. As someone else said, too *much* plot would hurt it because it would start feeling forced and over-explanatory, but it'd be nice to see this whole thing tied together *somehow* (Akutsu somehow gets control of KaibaCorp, gadgetry goes awry, Yuusei ends up in 2002 or something? I don't know, my attention's rather split at the moment, but it's the best I can do with three chibis behind me debating about tiny plastic toys).

Summon Captain Planet and he announces how all dueling cards will now be printed on recyclable materials and all non-traded cards should be placed in one's recycling bin at the curb so that they'll become another part of the great 'Circle of Stuff.'
