Problem is the Production Team has said they'd love to work on stuff based on the existing Card Game Story Lines next if they got a chance. Like with Gagagigo, Freed, Marauding Captain, Pandemonium, et al. :x

Did they also mean that they would try to combine that and make it part of the existing Yu-Gi-Oh! storyline?

Nothing clarified. Just they'd love to play with the OCG Original Monster's Plotlines if given the chance to do that and not infinite NEW ANIMU cards.

Ah...yes. I remember reading that from the Animation book interview. If they do actually go through with something like that, I REALLY hope they don't try to mesh it with the existing Yu-Gi-Oh! storyline lest things become REALLY messy...

So long as we don't get monsters running around, it'd be cool. Like, have the players personal problems and plotlines reflect the story lines of their cards instead of actually having a walking Gagagigo and such.

As much as an idea like that would be epic, you know really that they're not quite brave enough for that. If they do pursue that line with the next spinoff, I'd expect the return of Duel Spirits on a much larger scale, with all of the main cast being assigned duel spirits, likely of Gigobyte, Pikeru, Curran, Warrior Lady of the Wasteland, Marauding Captain and Dai Grepher, and then having to fight against others with sinister duel spirits. Of course, even if they went that path, a decent storyline could be gleamed from it, and actually made to work very well, possibly even incorporating a concept like you suggested. But I have somewhat lost faith in the anime developers, so doubt is lodged quite firmly in my mind.

If its really like that. It just screams for me card dueling duel monsters.

What? Do they want to make something like a WOW manga instead?
Cuz I really can't imagine any other ways these card story lines to be used.

Ragna's idea is great, but I agree with DarkYami.

I love the card game, but Takahashi originally had a good concept about exploring games from around the world... That's something I'd like to see return again. Who says the card game still can't be the most focused item, but have a little treat here and there where they play a different kind of game.
    My current projects:

5D's Novel - "Beyond the Future" by GoldenUmi"

    Yu-Gi-Oh! Noah Arc Rewrite

*Takes place after Alcatraz, combining elements of the Falsebound Kingdom video game with the original Noah anime arc, using Scott Irvine as the final boss*

Yu-Gi-Oh! Doma and KC Grand Prix Arc Rewrite

*A rewrite based in the manga timeline of the story.*

    Advertisement Board:

    Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Novelization by Drago

    Linking Mythology in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Well they did play Dungeon Dice Monsters for two episodes and the Memory Arc as a whole didn't have much dueling. But if that's really a problem, Konami could release the other games that appear in Yu-Gi-Oh!

To be fair, they're at least different Spirit Worlds. And in 5D's, it's not really even a main plot point.

Despite its mistakes Doma had an air of...sophisitication, epicness and quality that made the filler so much more enjoyable and engrossing. It wasn't a mass marketing strategy, or a gimmick to fanwank a character.

It was a story. They actually gave a damn in their own way.

They made some mistakes though, and had some truly facepalm cliches, but in the end you did enjoy it. So while it bugs me, it doesn't bug me as much as it 2 years ago and beyond.
That's how most things are. Transformers fans originally disliked Beast Wars (TRUKK NOT MUNKY wtf?), but then it was EPIC. Then its spinoff, Beast Machines, as well, because it had a very dark plot that made references to things like Nazism and such... until Japan derped out with the shows that followed, and the US made it worse with Blind Idiot Translations making up THE ENTIRE SCRIPT FOR SOME EPISODES. They're both currently regarded by many fans as the best 2 shows for the whole franchise.

Only Dungeons Dice and Dragons was changed to Dungeon Dice Monsters and made almost all of the summons were made into a Duel Monsters cards turned dice so that they could still promote the card game. The Memory arc was altered to include ancient duel disks and used a lot more of the card game's monsters as Kas than the manga.

Are you guys still planning to work on this?

I had to come back to this thread to fix the subbing error I made and I was also reading over some of your suggestions. I like the anime arc, but I was intrigued by some of your ideas. If you guys seriously wanted to do this, I think we could make a really interesting story far superior to the anime arc. I like writing and would be willing to help.

I think the thread (with the slightly misleading title) implies that we would like to do a manga Doma and fit it more into the canon, but we lack a lot of things. Like an illistrator with the time and willpower to actually construct something like this. lol

It was more of a "If we could, it would be awesome, but we probably won't/can't" kind of thing.
