Playing in theaters for what movie? Because the preview online also uses the dub Egyptain opening theme. Or was it the Hyper Drive theme? Besides, there will be a subbed version it seems. Toonzaki did that whole chalk art last year to advertise for it.

Well, I didn't see it in theaters, but it had the green "the following preview is approved for all audiences/this film is not yet rated" opening, right before the preview. And it's the original opening to Duel Monsters, Your Move. It plays during the NAS/4Kids logo screen, before it cuts to the part with footage of the film.

Happen to remember the channel you saw this trailer on? CW4kids uses the same one over and over again ...

For some reason that video looked more awesome than the previous one without Dan Green narrating.

Well, I don't have any complain if the music is changed because, God!, it have always been this way so I don't expect it change. I'll just be disappointed but then again, its 4kids, what else can whe expect?

Perhaps it is a mix of music scores. 4kids has already done it in the first of the Duel Board episodes (albeit might have been an accident) where a small tune can be heard hidden behind a dub track during the opening duel of Yusei and Aki.

Of course, we are only going by dub trailers, which don't have any actual audio from the movie. It could very well be promotional use only. Or there might be a licensing issue with the original tracks that not even TV Tokyo and NAS can work out.

Leaving a tiny piece of music in underneath the dub's soundtrack is clearly an accident. I wouldn't exactly give 4Kids credit for experimenting with mixing the soundtracks.

But at least they are experimenting. We have no signs or even hints of it being a complete dub track. And if it was, it would probably use the POL soundtrack, which had professional singers.

Well, I'm losing more and more hope with the dub film, might just have to watch the Japanese when it's finally released.

While I'd like the English-dub to pretty much be as close to the original as possible, especially since they can get away with a lot more in movies, I'll be fine with 4Kids releasing a subbed version, as long as said subbed version isn't like their "uncut" duel monsters DVDs that used dub terms and dub names.

I wouldn't mind if they released the DVD/Blue Ray with a subbed version with it. It would be great if they used the Japanese soundtrack for the theatrical release, but I won't place my hopes up too high, I don't want to get disappointed XD. Also anyone know if the Japanese DVD/Blue Ray would come with English subtitles? I actually imported the Gundam unicorn episode one, and it came with English subtitles. Maybe the yugioh movie will get the same treatment? If so I'll just import the movie

I expect the DVD to have the original version. I also expect the Japanese version to have some type of subs.

I am curious, though, do you know where in that section of the episode that mixing happens? Because I tried looking into it last night but couldn't notice any of the Japanese BGM in there. =S

I'm also hoping they're just using the dub BGM for promotion and not in the actual movie, but my hopes on them keeping the BGM in the movie is slowly decreasing. =/

I'm happy enough with the dub. So either way, right or wrong, I'll be ok.

Lance, I heard it in episode 74 dub. Am I not a trusted source of dub information? I heard it behind some melody of 4kids.

I meant during what part of the episode, and I thought you mentioned it being 77 (Twins VS Luciano Part 1), not 74, earlier.

Whichever episode is titled Synchro Straits. It is very faint, but you can tell their either forgot to take it out, or left it in for fun. It was during the Duel, the beginning part.

I think it is going to be something unneeded. If it was essential to the story, wouldn't it be in the international version too?

I agree. But then again, if it is a VERY brief recap of the series, then it would be nice to have in the US. Whatever it is, I wonder if it will make it to the US release DVD.

Thanks for posting that image Cohen, it looks really cool.

For all you UK peeps like myself, I sent an email to 4Kids yesterday regarding UK movie and DVD release plans. If they get back to me with anything of interest I'll post it here.

It's almost similar with the first 10th Anniversary english poster.
I still hope some wallpapers will be subscribed in the original movie website. The japanese would let their fancy roam and add a Download section with cool stuff inside. Thanks for sharing though, Cohen.

After replacing all the music for 452 episodes of the three series combined, I doubt 4Kids would suddenly start mixing the soundtrack in episode 74 of 5Ds. It seems like a mistake. Also, the English movie page says that "civilization is on the brink of collapse". So all the dead non-Paradox people of the world are appearently not dead. Go figure. Also, I'm looking forward to see Pegasus getting crushed by a building in a kids movie... The dub music is good, is the lack of original music is a HUGE downer.

Why does Jaden look older and different? And why are his eyes glowing? I watched all 155 episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and nothing of the sort came up at all!

If that bottom part wasn't crossed, you might have been getting a neg rep, that point is way too old to try arguing.

4kids likes to sprinkle the truth. They did it most during Crashtown, even the dub transcriber makes note of it in her talking about the duel graveyard. How it is refered to as "the hopes and dreams of duelists" when even she notices what it really is about, a graveyard for the ones who died. It is a very easy way to get around the truth, telling it for us to know, but kids to hear something else.

I'm looking forward to see who is dubbing Grandpa Moto, since Maddie Blaustein passed away.

Actually I was just fixing a couple of errors I made, but thanks for the point. I'm just beatin' a dead horse anyway. But I wouldn't be suprised if Pete Zarustica picked him up. After all, his replacement Goodwin was really good.

If there's one thing I won't bash 4Kids about, it's the need to cover up death. Although that is why they need to release an uncut version for us older audiences, but that will never happen.

However, them not dubbing GX season 4 is dumb and there is no excuse for it. Yes, I realize they are short on cash and that season 4 sucked, but one should always finish a project before going onto something else IMO.

Anyway, the building crushing Pegasus will probably be cut out. They will probably show it falling towards him, CUT, and you'll hear some random voice in the background saying "We pulled him away just in time!" and Pegasus going "My FABULOUS life flashed before my eyes!"

And Sugoroku will just be an implied death, but will be sugarcoated.

That is why I feel we need to show them there is a need/demand for uncut dubs. The subs are nice, but they picked it up too late. They could do it right with Zexal, I just feel not as many people will care, and the demand won't show. And DM is untouchable thanks to NAS, so 5Ds is it, and it is too late. Hopefully Zexal turns out like 5Ds did early on, and 4kids does do it right, sub and dub wise.

As for this movie, I would hope if they have to cover up death, they do it like with the Goodwin brother's death at the end of 64. They are dead in the dub, just in such a way the kids don't question it as death, but we here know it as death.

Oh, and the voice actor for Solomon Moto, I want to hear that one.

Worst part is, we might not know what was actually cut for some time until we get a raw.

    Why? I sure will!

Maybe they honestly just ran out of money, lulz. Its stupid though. People are gonna be lost.

...If they do that, then I seriously will just walk out of the damn theatre and take my crappy Si- I mean, "Malefic" card with me. For one, they aren't even held to the same broadcast restrictions in a movie so that excuse would be moot. Second, death is featured in almost every kid show in some kind without having people always be knocked out or just sent to (insert whatever stupid term for limbo here). Especially since in Pyramid of Light, Anubis specifically said he would kill Yugi and it was time to die.

To go backwards now would just...be ridiculous. Frankly it'd be just stupid beyond belief and would kill whatever tension and plot this skeleton of a movie even had. That would so twist and maim the movie that it'd be an insult, tbh. I'm frankly too old for this shit.

As for uncut dubs, didn't they say they'd do it once they got some money. At the very least, so far, it seems like they're interested in it, now that they're working on it with 5Ds. That's one hope to hold on to.

Are they really working on uncut DVDs for 5D's?

This. While ZeXal isn't looking like it's going to require as much editing, I really think it would be nice to have either a simulcast where the sub is put up just after the JP version, or at least once the dub version is released. I think 4kids would gain a lot of view if they did a simulcast, as their 5D's subs show they don't have a problem with accuracy like their uncut subs.

As for the movie, I honestly doubt much death will be cut. Unlike the series, people can die in the movies, and since they don't actually die in the end, is should be fine. If anything, the footage of the buildings falling on people ~might~ be toned down. My biggest hope is 4Kids won't mess with the lips flaps as much, because it will be much more noticeable in a 3D movie.

I agree. 4kids will probably dub 5d's and zexal at the same time this year. This will show that they can dub two yugioh series the same time. They made a lame excuse back in 2008. There is nothing to do about it though. The damage is already done. I don't see 4kids dubbing the fourth season ever. I have a feeling that some other company will dub it. People will be confused about Jaden when they see the movie but like many people said, they can just go to youtube and watch the last episode of gx to understand of what's going on. It would had been better if people were able to watch it from the tv but that's not going to happen.

Well, by that time 4kids had only been given up to 155, and nothing more . They have all 5Ds episodes, so it would be dumb not to dub it all. As for Zexal, we don't know. I created the discussion at Toonzaki so they can see we care, and on the 4kids forums for the same reason.

4kids is much better at matching the lip flaps than the Japanese is, I trust them in that respect.

    @GoldenUmi

The Yami Yugi page said that while he is just a character, the person who asked should wait for late 2011. I assume that is when it will all be ready, as well as Zexal dub starting. 4kids has been on low burn for awhile. Perhaps late 2011 is high burn, with Tai Chi Chasers starting in mid 2011.

Actually, what I meant by lip flaps was how they tend to add footage to make them say more. I hope that DOESN'T happen.

As for 5D's and ZeXal, my hope is that 4Kids gets through 5D's and then starts ZeXal, and since we know at least through Team Unicorn's duel is finished, they should be able to dub the rest and air it before ZeXal airs in the fall. (Just my guess, since that's when most series they pick-up begin)

I would gladly buy any uncut DVDs they make despite having already purchased the Japanese expensive sets. I just hope they will release Zexal, so I don't have to buy those sets at all. I guess we'll see what happens. Late 2011 isn't too bad a wait. 5D's doesn't even end until April, and the first Zexal Japanese set wont be out until September 2011 or so, my guess.

I'd buy it, especially if it had the new voices of the twins, since the old voices were dreck. I would hope Zexal would start in late 2011 at that same time, so about a year from now, not such a good wait, but not such a bad wait. As you get older, time goes by much faster.

I want to see what happens come the Spring Season when Crunchyroll starts snagging streaming licenses. Would Zexal not be picked up because 4kids would have it, or would it be picked up and 4kids would do a joint issue? Or is that even possible?

Putting it on Crunchyroll would be a very wise decision. That's where the other big players are other than One Piece.
