Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Yliaster or Darkness the problem stays the same: something arrives in the future causing his destruction. But what ? Who ? And how ? Why Paradox is the only human who survives ? What become Judai, the Signers ? Much questions stays in suspense.
Pegasus and Sugoroku revived or not ?
Arts are very good. Thanks !

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
According to sesho's summary, they "never died" in the first place. Here's how it goes, to my understanding:
DM PERIOD
Pegasus is attending an event
Paradox summons dragons and makes the building collapse on Pegasus, Sugoroku also dies
Yugi faints and find Sugoroku's headband among the rubble
Crimson Dragon arrives and "eats" Yugi
Crimson Dragon takes everyone back 30 minutes before the "accident"
Yubel wrecks the event so everyone escapes (Pegasus is yet to arrive at this point)
Paradox arrives
The protags and Paradox duel
In other words, their death never happened because they encountered Paradox before the event happened, before Pegasus appeared and before Paradox could kill him and Sugoroku.

Yep. That's a comparison picture I made a month ago or two about how Paradox's outfit resembles Fujiwara's. (More specifically, here.)

Indeed. I wonder if they snuck cameos or homages among the children who attend Pegasus' event (unless they are not shown at all). Or the JumBANG! pirates kidnapped everyone, le gasp!
Also, PyramidOfLight!Pegasus saved everyone from the rubble falling on them... now he's the one getting squished. XD To be fair, I'm sure he didn't expect some weird dude showing up and wrecking his event... fatally.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
I don remember every single detail and card of the duel, but with the other summary you can get a ideia.
Paradox's D Wheel transforms into a flying type and he floats up high and the duel starts.
Paradox goes first. He activates a field spell card that let him put a random Sin monster from his deck to his hand instead of drawing a card. The field turns into a purple space full of stars and with the 3D effect it was AMAZING. Then he sends Cyber End to the grave and summons Sin Cyber End.
Yusei says that everything is his fault, and asks Yugi and Judai to let him take the first turn. Judai and Yugi agrees and say: ''Okay Yusei, kick his ass!".
Yusei activates a spell that sends two monsters from his hand to the grave but let him add a monster to his hand for two turns(kinda blurry, it may be different). Yusei sends Roadrunner and Bolt Hedgehog to the grave and gets Junk Synchron. Summoning Junk Synchron he gets Roadrunner and Hedgehog on his field, and Synchro Summons Junk Gardna. Yugi and Judai are impressed with the new cards from the future. Yusei sets a card and end his turn.
Paradox adds a Sin Rainbow Dragon to his hand, summons it( Judai's pissed cause Paradox's using Johan's card XD) and attack with Sin CyberEnd. Yusei uses his monster effect changing Cyberend to defence mode. Then Rainbow attacks and Gardna is destroyed, Gardna's effect changes Rainbow to defense. Yusei uses a card that brings back Gardna.
Now is Judai's turn. His theme begins to play and he uses Fusion. He then fuses Neos and Gardna to summon Neos Knight. Neos Knight gets half of the attack points of the warrior material monster used. He then destroys CyberEnd, Neos Knight can attack twice so he also destroys Rainbow. Judai sets 4 cards and end his turn.
Paradox summons Sin Stardust and tunes it to summon Sin Paradox Dragon. He then brings back Stardust from the grave with Dragon's effect. As long as Stardust is on the field all of the opponents monsters loses 2500 ATK points. Paradox Dragon attacks Neos Knight, kinda blurry, I think Judai uses hero barrier.
Yugi's turn. His theme plays and he uses Yusei's card effect to add Black Magician to his hand. He activates Ancient Rules and summon him, Judai gets all excited seeing Black Magician. Then a magic card summons Black Magician Girl. Yugi uses a magic card to get control of Paradox Dragon but Paradox uses a trap that negates all effects against the Dragon then Yugi smiles and say that his real target is Stardust. Now Yusei got Stardust back. Yugi then uses a card that combine the Magicians attack points and destroy Paradox Dragon. But then Paradox uses a trap, when Paradox Dragon is destroyed he pays half of his life to summon SIN Truth Dragon. He then fuses with him and gets all crazy/face deforming effect exactly like Marik. Everyone is amazed by how gigantic the monster is.
To be continued.....

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Paradox's turn. He summons Sin Blue Eyes and Sin Red Eyes. Now is really blurry sorry,I think Red Eyes attack Magician Girl but Judai uses something to protect her. The Blue Eyes attacks Neos, Judai uses De-Fusion. Paradox then attack with Truth Dragon destroys a monster a thanks to its effect he destorys all monsters on the field. Yusei uses Stardusts effect but I dont remeber how Truth Dragon isnt destroyed and get to attack again or something. Then Yusei is on his knees saying that its all over, their future is doomed. Then in Neo Domino everyone is watching the dimesion fall apart but Jack says that Yusei will save everyone. Then Yugi and Judai tell Yusei to get up, because *Insert Friendship Speech*. Then Judai activates Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, Yugi gets kuriboh uses his effect. Then a giant 3D kuriboh blocks the attack.
Yusei's turn. He plays a trap that bring all the monsters back and then Judai and Yugi play a trap Neos and Black Magician Versions that double Stardust Attack to 10000. Then Black Magician, Neos and Stardust combine their attacks and win the duel.
After that Yusei thanks everyone and hope to meet then again, the next time to duel with Yugi. Then Yugi gives a good old friendship speech.
Yusei's back at Neo Domino and everyone comes running screaming: Yusei!
Yusei than looks at the Sky and thinks: " I'll protect my future so one day we can meet again, Judai san, Yugi san...."
The End
Lots of parts I don quite remember so well put you guys can get an ideia of how things went. Maybe I'll watch the movie again on Saturday , this time I hope from the beggining, then I can give more details!

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Okay, this contribution might be worthless since Sesho already posted, but I literally just finished typing this up.
http://bbs.newwise.com/thread-447686-89-1.html
Post 1769 from XYZ Dragon Cannon gives a detailed summary, so I tried what Ed did and put it through a translator. I'll post what I was able to surmise:
<Paradox>
Plays Sin World
Removes Cyber End Dragon from his Extra Deck to summon Sin Cyber End Dragon
One card face-down
Life 4000
<Yusei>
Plays ???
Discards 2 cards (Road Runner and Bolt Hedgehog). During his 2nd Standby Phase, the player can add 1 Monster Card from his Deck to his Hand
Summons Junk Synchron, effect summons Road Runner, Bolt Hedgehog summons itself, tunes all 3 to Synchro Summon Junk Guardna in Defense Mode
2 cards face-down
Life 4000
<Paradox>
Uses Sin World to get to Sin Rainbow Dragon
Removes Rainbow Dragon from Deck to summon Sin Rainbow Dragon
Not sure here, but I think Sin Rainbow Dragon goes to attack Junk Guardna and Junk Guardna activates his effect which switches Sin Rainbow Dragon to Defense Mode, canceling the attack.
In any case, Sin Cyber End Dragon attacks Junk Guardna and destroys it, inflicting 1400 LP of Piercing damage. Junk Guardna's destruction switched Sin Cyber End Dragon to defense mode.
However, Yusei activates The Afterglow of a Miracle (or Miracle's Afterglow) to Special Summon Junk Guardna back to the field in Defense Mode.
Paradox ends with one card face-down.
Paradox Life 4000
Hero Life 2600
<Judai>
Fuses Neos with Junk Guardna to Fusion Summon Elemental Hero Neos Knight, who can attack twice and his ATK is determined by adding Neos + half of the other warrior used.
As such, it rises from 2500 to 3200, meaning Junk Guardna has only 1400 ATK.
Anyway, Judai has Elemental Hero Neos Knight destroy both Sin Rainbow Dragon and Sin Cyber End Dragon
Paradox appears to play a card here, that allows him to draw 2 cards?
Judai ends with 4 cards face-down, his entire hand.
Paradox Life 4000
Hero Life 2600
<Paradox>
Uses Sin World to get Sin Stardust Dragon into his hand
Removes Stardust Dragon from his Extra Deck to summon Sin Stardust Dragon
Summons Sin Parallel Gear and tunes it with Sin Stardust Dragon to Synchro Summon Sin Paradox Dragon
Sin Paradox Dragon's effect summons Stardust Dragon to the field and reduces Elemental Hero Neos Knight's ATK by 2500, presumably Stardust's ATK.
Elemental Hero Neos Knight's ATK is now 700, and Sin Paradox Dragon attacks.
Judai activates Hero Barrier to negate Sin Paradox Dragon's attack
Paradox plays Sin Crow Stream? which destroys Elemental Hero Neos Knight anyway
Judai responds by playing Elemental Mirage which allows him to summon back Elemental Hero Neos Knight, which goes back to his base 2500 ATK
Judai ends by placing two cards face-down
Paradox Life 4000
Hero Life 2600
<Yugi>
Gets Black Magician to his hand by the effect of Yusei's card played earlier
Plays Ancient Rules to summon Black magician from his hand
Plays Of the Master and Student (Bond between Teacher and Student) to summon Black Magician Girl
Plays ??? (??? Magic Gate?) to take control of 1 monster, Stardust Dragon, while he has two Spellcaster-type monsters on the field.
Yugi somehow combines the attacks (plays a card lol) of the two Magicians (2000 + 2500) to defeat Sin Paradox Dragon and deal Paradox 500 LP of damage.
Paradox responds by paying half of his Life Points to summon Sin Truth Dragon
Yugi ends by playing 1 card face-down
Paradox Life 1750
Hero Life 2600
<Paradox>
Unsure here, but Paradox plays a card Sin Trigger Selector? (or Sin ???) to summon both Sin Blue Eyes White Dragon and Sin Red Eyes Black Dragon to the field. (It has something to do with removing Sin Parallel Gear, maybe remove 2 Sin monsters, summon 2 Sin monsters? idk)
Paradox declares the attack of Sin Red Eyes Black Dragon on Black Magician Girl
Judai defuses Elemental Hero Neos Knight and brings Elemental Hero Neos and Junk Guardna back in to Defense Mode
Judai activates the effect of Junk Guardna to switch Sin Red Eyes Black Dragon into Defense Mode, cancelling his attack
Sin Blue Eyes White Dragon destroys Black Magician, triggering Sin Truth Dragon's effect
This activates Stardust Dragon's effect and it is sent to the Graveyard
However, Paradox activates Sin Truth Dragon's effect, removing Sin Rainbow Dragon to negate the destruction effect of Stardust Dragon
Paradox continues by having Sin Truth Dragon destroy the Defense Position Elemental Hero Neos, activating his effect to destroy Black Magician Girl and Junk Guardna as well. 800 LP of damage are inflicted for each monster destroyed this way. (At least that's what I think)
Paradox plays Sin Cross ???, a revival-type card to summon Sin Stardust Dragon until the End Phase and declares a direct attack
Judai plays Flute of Summoning Kuriboh to have Yugi place a Kuriboh in his Hand from his Deck, negating the battle damage.
At the End Phase, Sin Stardust is destroyed and Stardust Dragon comes back to the field
Paradox Life 1750
Hero Life 500
<Yusei>
Plays Stardust ??? (Stardust Mirage) to summon back the destroyed Black Magician Girl, Black Magician, Elemental Hero Neos, and Junk Guardna
Judai reveals a face-down ??? (Neos Spiral Force?) to double Stardust's ATK to 5000 when there is a face up Elemental Hero Neos.
Yugi reveals a face-down ??? (Black Spiral Force) to double Stardust's ATK again to 10000 when there is face-up Black Magician
Yusei declares the attack of Stardust Dragon at Sin Truth Dragon, destroying it and ending the duel
Paradox Life 0
Hero Life 500
If anyone has any corrections, lmk.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
I assumed that after Paradox was left alone in his future, he gathered studies and whatnot left behind by mankind among the rubble and tried to come up with something. It may have taken him a while. Even months and years, maybe.
The only problem with this theory is he'd be rugged and dirty, but he's kind of clean for someone who lives in a desolate world on his own amongst ruins and more ruins. Who knows, perhaps he still had access to clothes and household items, somewhere in there...

You has several good point, Arynis. It makes a lot of sense.
Finally, Yusei, Judai and Yugi beat Paradox but nobody wants to know how the future is destroyed, why he survived and Signers not, to know who is Paradox, how he get his power or even simply explains him that he is not obliged to kill Pegasus and destroy Duel Monsters to change the future.

Maybe am i wrong but it looks like Yugi is a little demeans while Judai save both Yusei and Yugi's ass with his traps and Yusei give to Yugi the chance to add Dark Magician to his hand. Yeah I know teamwork and stuff but at the end Yugi is quite dependent don't you think? and that's funny if Yusei tells that he wants duel Yugi one day (Judai is forgotten) after the final showdown against the big vilain Paradox.

whoa, Ancient Rules
didnt think the movie would try to promote cards that actually exist..
Also I almost thought Yugi's 4th spell had to be Union Attack or Brave Attack, which are the only ones I can think of involving combining attackpower

The question in this movie isn't who will rob the laurels for doing all the work in the duel or who is more dependent on the other two players. Bearing in mind how short the duel is, I even think that such discussion is completely pointless.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Not necessarily. In terms of the Grandfather Paradox, he wouldn't be aware at all. See Futurama, and how Fry became his own Grandfather. The paradox lends itself to creation because the one who creates the paradox is unaware of their contamination of the timestream.
If time is one continual stream of events that exist, then Paradox by his very birth ended up damning the future and when he gained the means of time travel, he attempted to fulfill his destined role as the future's destroyer. That explains why he alone is the only human on the planet who exists. Because he's the cause and catalyst for its destruction..he *has* to exist, because he *has* to go back in time to make said world be destroyed. And it's by whatever miraculous event that united the three YGO protagonists (i.e. The Crimson Dragon), that allowed the future to be changed by his defeat.
Darkness being the cause of this doesn't seem very likely since it doesn't appear to be mentioned at all, and if Darkness were the cause, wouldn't that big, black eclipse/planet appear over the world? Instead of just the world looking like Mars? Darkness will always exist, and if Darkness finally got its chance to consume and destroy mankind, wouldn't the world have just been "replaced" by the World of Darkness? It doesn't really explain why Paradox would be the sole human left in the entire world, and why his defeat ends up saving time itself and the future.
In terms of this movie, the only real "paradox" that exists within this story that threatens humanity is Paradox himself. And the reason his defeat occurs and literally stabilizes time is because Paradox is a destructive anomaly, whether he knows it or not.
QFT. People need to stop trying to say X duelist was dependent and crap. They all pulled their weight and kicked a$$. No one was a third wheel here, and I have to say that despite its brevity, they really made this duel work and sound interesting. I'm very pleased with this outcome. It does all three of the protagonists justice.

It would've been such a perfect opportunity to put them on 5Ds Sound Duel 2, if there had been new ones. That's another reason why it seems doubtful there'll be much new. Although there has been new music for the trailer, as Paradox looks across the ruined land. It would be pretty lazy not to give Paradox a theme; Anubis got five.Originally Posted by lilim

I sort of get the feeling that it'll be mostly 5D's BGMs, with Judai's Theme and Passionate Duelists added for nostalgia. I only base that on the fact that the movie's soundtrack was decided by someone other than me though, I could be wrong. It's also likely that the BGMs will relate to the time period.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
<3 :D
A part of me still likes to think that Paradox's future was destroyed by Duel Monsters indirectly (humanity's sins tainting the cards black, thus leading the world down on the path of ruin). I remember Paradox's cards being black from the trailer (Stardust) and it looks like Sin Paradox Dragon is also a black card (you can see it in the screenshot). But it doesn't explain how Paradox is the only human left...
...Or you could interpret it as Paradox thinking he was the only person remaining, but he was isolated from other groups of survivors. Just like 2300 A.D. in Chrono Trigger - people lived in separate domes across the Earth, separated from each other by monster infested ruins. One of the domes sent a guy to look for other people, but he never came back (possibly killed). They learned about each others' existence only when Crono and his friends explored the bad future.
Perhaps Paradox got isolated in an unlucky way - he was alone, far away from other people. Majority of the humanity could have still been wiped out, with little people remaining here and there. It's kind of a staple for most post apocalyptic works, actually.
Then there's the tagline - "Orders to kill the Creator of Duel Monsters". This would imply someone was out there and indeed gave Paradox the instructions. But that would make Paradox's statement about him being the only person remaining false. I'm surprised we didn't hear anything about that bit. Or it could be possible the trailer lied, or it was merely an early idea. The tagline existed back in the Jump Festa trailer, which was back in October, although the staff diary already showed us the printed storyboard at the end of October. Or the summary providers forgot about it. (Sesho, if you read this - were these orders elaborated upon in the movie?)
And looking at it, Paradox did kill Pegasus, but it didn't seem to affect the timeline much (as Paradox's changes were already hurting the timeline anyway), or at least not as critically as I thought, which is a bummer.
However, killing DM!Pegasus would also lead up to a paradox, even if it's not as critical as pre-DM!Pegasus' death. He's possibly post-Duelist Kingdom Pegasus here, as the Yugi holding Sugoroku's headband already owns a Duel Disk and he has chains for the Puzzle. Either way, if Pegasus dies during DM, he wouldn't be there to create Rainbow Dragon for Johan in GX, which means Judai and the rest of the academia are likely stuck in the Sand World dimension. And thus no one would defend the world from Darkness (Judai wouldn't be there to fight him), which means everyone would vanish, including Paradox, thus he wouldn't be able to travel back in time and kill Pegasus... Grandfather Paradox either way.
Or perhaps the paradox isn't addressed at this point, or it's gradually tearing reality apart (Delayed Ripple Effect). Or it got nullified when Crimson Dragon brought Yugi back in time and the protagonists chased everyone away from the event so they can fight Paradox alone, changing the circumstances.
The special could be anything, like interviews with the VAs. (Speaking of which, the producers still weren't revealed officially... I thought they would. Dang.)

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Yeah, the major clue seems to be Paradox being the sole human being left on the planet, who coincidentally, has the power to time travel. There's no reason for that, along with no reason for why the calamity struck his timeline. We only know that it was caused by Duel Monsters.
Now what is Paradox doing in the movie? He's destroying the future of YGO by going back into the past and destroying it with....Duel Monsters. The irony and paradoxical nature of Paradox's actions are way too explicit to be coincidence. Him being the sole man alive in the future, and then traveling back in past, causing the destruction of the future and present is too much to ignore.
Its possible that there are other people alive, but just by the facts of the movie alone, we're led to believe he's just the only person. And that's just terribly sad. It explains how Paradox is such a tragic character who's only trying to save his era, but is also the villain, and what the "paradox" of the story is.
The reason why Paradox's killing of Pegasus did nothing (at least in terms of the events of the movie) was because of the miraculous intervention that allowed for the timeline to be saved from its destiny of the destruction. The Crimson Dragon. Concievably, nothing should've stopped Paradox from fullfilling the timeline paradox and destroying the future. But thanks to the Crimson Dragon and the heroes, they were able to seize the critical moment in "time and space" and defeat Paradox, thus stopping the destruction of the future.
In terms of Paradox's time, him succeeding in killing Pegasus and destroying the past, killing Pegasus, and destroying Duel Monsters with the powers of duel monsters, would create a cataclysm on the planet and result in the timeline-dimensional distortion/meltdown that results in everyone dying, the planet being destroyed, and him being the only person left alive. Because Paradox has to survive, because he has to go back into the past and try to destroy duel monsters, which leaves him the sole survivor of his time...because he has to go back into the past and try to destroy duel monsters..etc.
Time line paradoxes are like glitches. They don't really make sense. They loop and are literal anomalies that result in either the complete meltdown of timeline consistency, unless they're completely destroyed at the moment of their inception. Which is why the heroes have to be there in the first place. XD
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
I assumed he may have been determined to change his destiny, so he went ahead and researched time travel until he was able to do so... but you got me again. XD
And you're right with the whole killing thing - it would indeed cause one humongous timeline destruction. But I kept going with the more extreme and traditional effect of paradoxes all along, that it would instantly result in the destruction of reality.
So basically he's tragically stuck in a loop until the protagonists come and stop him, his death meaning peace for him, at last.
Heh, even though so little was revealed from his backstory, a lot of things could be figured out from the implications. I swear, just this made Paradox instantly in my top favorite list, with his short 49 minutes of screentime and role in the franchise.
By the way Makoeyes, you should write more analyses! Start a blog or something and join the club! XD
