Takahashi's animated short is up - and it is weird and mildly unsettling, given how he went about coloring it, and me having watched it with no volume and being unable to guess what is going on in-context 8V kinda different.

    Wow. Wow.

This is... kind of surreal. In a good way. It's certainly interesting. As expected from Takahashi, the architecture designs are Grade A Eye Candy. The alien(?)/robot(?) designs grew on me fast, too. They are odd, but I like them. The bad guy looked quite funky.

I didn't really get anything, but

    Spoiler: Spoilers
That villain initiated a self destruct mechanism of some sort, sending their protection mechanism on destroying the planet instead. Wow, what a bastard.

The mascot (at least I think he is) is shown in the end. Adorable!

The heart shape seems to be prominent all over, though. It's in the logo, the shape on the top of one of the buildings looked the same, it was present on this love compatibility device, and some of the robot faces had the same heart shape. I guess friendship/love/bonding is going to play a part again, huh?

Oh, and the animation is really cool. It's very much like the way Takahashi colors, and it looks good.

    Please continue, Takahashi! =D

I love it!! The design is very original, I like colors. Animation is very nice! The decors reminds me a lot Coruscant and the Galactic Senate in Star Wars. The button is very present, It's funny. Especially the scene when the throne touching the button.

The scene with the love test was cute. Poor guy, I feel compassion for you! I noticed there several hearts. The new character at the end is cute! Bad guys, good guys will arrive!

    Continue Takahashi, continue!!

EDIT: News pictures in the gallery! Ishizu and Marik. She is really beautiful! Seto and Mokuba. The KC logo is interesting!

Wow, that Kaiba and Mokuba pic looks awesome. Very cool. Thank you so much for the translations.

That picture of Ishizu and Malik is really impressive. There's a bit of clash in her portrait between the two styles (she's supposed to be realistic, and those big manga eyes look out of place), but it's still pretty awesome.

Just for once I'd like to come up with a very good plan that doesn't involve lots of last minute rewiring.

I love it. The animation style is something I have never really seen before. It doesn't look like regular anime, it is Kaz style. Seeing it animated is a huge plus. Kaz style animated, looks almost as good as Gainex animation. I hope he does present the idea to some studio, and I hope it does succeed in Japan. Then Funimation could pick it up.

Yeah looking far ahead (2+ years) isn't always a good thing.

I wish I could draw as good as Takahashi, he has definitely improved now that he's embraced computer aided design. Very jealous!! I especially love the new drawing of Red Eyes.

Wow. I have no idea what to think. Takahashi's current art style is pretty awesome, and Button 229 is cute. I wonder what inspired this? Is this just a little bit of fun so that he could draw something other than YGO? Or a prelude to something bigger? Anyway, let's see where this goes. Shame the videos take so long to load.

Again I see he's improved one of the bunko covers, but that new Kaiba and Mokuba image is fantastic. And considering he updated the Gallery yesterday as well, we're really being spoiled here.

... ffffff I found myself falling in love with this series. So much. :|a

It's like, so refreshing. He took a simple thing, like a button, and ran along with it. A friend of mine mentioned the whole thing "looks like Toon World", lol. And I find even the evil inhabitant so adorable. Damnit, Takahashi. (Does it have a name or anything like it?)

And yeah, seconding the video loading time. But the quality is great, so I think it's worth it.

My only question is where Button 229 was other than that last part that showed him/her?

The art style (use of shading comparable to American Comics) is really nice to see animated. Some wouldn't even see it as anime due to this.

I think he/she was on one of the ships? But that'd mean there's a good bunch of survivors. This should be interesting... I'm curious about the evil inhabitant, too. Is it a flat out bad guy or it will have a bad past to balance it out? Or have elements of comedy along the way? Although going by his "ball", he's kind of a bastard for now, I guess. Although I find it funny how its face is shaped like a heart.

And yeah, I agree. The style doesn't look like the anime you usually see on TV.

Looking at this now, it reminds me of Terminator. Some guy comes up with an idea to protect the planet, but it goes horribly wrong. In this case, the guy isn't the one who came up with it, but the one who found a way to make a plan that seemed worthful to agree with (push the button) yet in effect allowing it to become self-aware and destroy the planet.

EDIT: It is even more like it that I thought. All the system did was use power to simulate missles/bombs. Then the people of the planet attacked each other seeing it as war.

I didn't expect that Kaz will make secong big update so shortly after the first one from wednesday. I have to admit I'm very pleasantly surprised. Button 229 animation was cute and very entertaining. And the never-before-seen illustration of Seto and Mokuba is just incredible. [there's no way for me not to merge it. x)] The content of the next updates is unpredictable, but I'm sure we'll once again be gratified . x)

That... was AWESOME! lol The little "llove match" button machine was funny, and Kazuki never fails to deliver cool villains. Despite the fact that I can't understand a word of what he said, you can definately tell that he's a total jerkass. lol

The first episode had been posted! A plot section had been added. The expressions of the faces, colors, animations, backgroud... all is so great!

They know the name of the bad guy. This is a doctor something. Hopefully, It isn't the Doctor who travel in the TARDIS! I like a lot the things they use to go in space, It seems a buoy like in the swimming pool. The hero, Button 299, is cute. I felt compassion for him when he hesitating before to jump in the space because it was impressive. But the boy in blue push him into the space and Button 299 has a problem with his buoy!

The child and the baby are so cute! I feel the worry of this woman. This picture of the family photo is poignancy! But the man who comes after seems to be severe.

Hopefully, the hero is helped by something who ressembles a little to Marshmallon. Apparently he coming from his buoy and seems give a destination to the hero.

What happening then? The answer to the next episode!

Plot was posted for Button 229

    プロローグ
    果てしない宇宙の真ん中にあるという−−−−
    「惑星BUTTON(ブットン)」。

    「BUTTON(ブットン)299」
    いつの日か、宇宙を救う少年惑星人(プラネティアン)
    −−−−それが彼の名前なのです。

Thanks for informing us about the plot update Cohen.
It seems that this Planet BUTTON is in the middle of the boundless universe and the residents can "have and do" everything they want (or something like that) by just "pressing a button". O_O Some bad alien tries to invade the planet by a strong plasma gun and BUTTON 299 is the boy that must rescue the universe. x) [Well...even with machine translator this sounds awesomely entertaining, interesting, cute and funny! x) xD]
    Impatient for Episode 2. x)
I guess Horoko will be on for translating the plot whenever he can.

...Man, those alien bot designs are adorable! Especially that family in there.

So the evil inhabitant is Dr. ... something. Heh, Mad Scientist guy ahoy! The "rival bot" amused me, he was trying to look totally cool.

I am wondering, though... Button 299 (at least the one we're following) had a family. Perhaps Takahashi is executing his "family love" theme he mentioned in the 10th Anniversary Animation Book interview in this series? I guess it's too early to say it for real, but seeing a full family (as opposed to YGO where families had their members absent or messed up... save for Hanasaki's family, probably) did make me stop and think.

Hahah, yeah. He gives me the "cocky rival" vibe (especially with his transforming hip missle device), but knowing Takahashi, there's probably more to him. Unless he's intending to keep the story simpler this time around.

Really? I didn't have any problems with the sound effects he used.

I liked how episode 1 had some (more) music in it. Just shorter tunes (like the one at the ending).

I noticed that the little bot tied to Button 299's riding tube thingy referred to itself as watakushi. Hmm...

    Prologue

There is a planet located in the middle of the boundless landscape of space called-"Planet Button." The inhabitants of Planet Button live by "buttons" that govern over administrative control. These buttons are mighty handy. Push a button and your car comes to pick you up.

Push a button and you have whatever you want in your hands. Push a button and you can send a message to whoever you want. Push a button and you have to pay your taxes. Push a button and they're able to repel against evil aliens that try to invade the planet with a powerful plasma cannon.

Buttons have allowed Planet Button to constantly sustain peace and prosperity.

On Planet Button, a government centered around the highest ruler in the land, Munoh, decides planetary policies and laws. On one day, at the Planetary Parliament, the government representatives assembled and voted on various kinds of bills.

---Although, it was a parliament in name only. The crafty politicians coaxed the ruler, Munoh, to push the voting buttons in attempts to create a society more convenient for themselves. The politicans too had throughly fallen into depravity by the button.

However, at the Parliament, not a single politician realized that the depraved Dr. Walkure, bent on galactic conquest, was in their midsts. To Dr. Walkure, sneaking in the corrupt Parliament and having the planet's leader, Munoh, push a dreadful button, which would lead Planet Button to ruin, was an easy task.

And what they feared had finally happened...!

The button that the planet's ruler, Munoh, pushed without consideration--was the very button that would activate their powerful plasma cannons. Dr. Walkure made a clean getaway from the Parliament and fled into space---. The countdown to Planet Button's destruction resounded throughout the Parliament.

And, like that, Planet Button was destroyed.

However, hope still remained. Spaceships holding the 500 or so survivors took to space.

"Button 229": The young planetian that will one day save space--that is his name.

    ----
I'll post my own little summary of Episode 1 later.

The button is better than Internet: currently, I must click on several buttons to pay my taxes, to prevent aliens called Virus to destroy my computer and... send this post!

Oh, so it's 229, after all. orz

Wow, that's a convenient planet, where a button can do anything. I can see why Takahashi decided to fire off the planet right off the bat -- to show us the darker side of this convenient mechanic. And yes, the "evil inhabitant" is called Dr. Walkure! (I keep thinking of "Valkyrie" now, gah.)

Thank you for the summary translation Horoko!

A new section called Figures is opened! Click on any section after the introduction page: this section don't appear in Intro page for the moment.

It contains figures of Blue Eyes and Red Eyes HERE. They are great but I prefer the BEWD. The blue in her eyes is beautiful!

Button will be also udpated soon.

It contains figures of Blue Eyes and Red Eyes HERE. They are great but I prefer the BEWD. The blue in her eyes is beautiful!

Button will be also udpated soon.

It's not a book. It's a promotional cardboard cutout saying that BMG is coming as a figure soon.

Kotobukiya editing figures, I thought it was a book according the form. My mistake. Thanks Horoko for clearing this!

Here're the 2 layered images of BEWD and REBD. As DARKMASTER suggested, I laid the original 544x544 TagForce pics designed by Takahashi over the pics that were recently uploaded on his website - Studio*Dice. Thus we can see which elements of the original pics were truncated or newly added.
