Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but this guy has some sweet footage of the movie in english. It's all video recorded and, of course, bad quality, but you can hear it fine and he has the best video footage I've seen thus far of the movie (Unless somebody knows of some actual movie rips that I don't know about).

    http://www.youtube.com/user/GrannelInfinity

He posted a FULL recording of the movie (Although the first 4 minutes have no audio)

Super Awesome if you're like me and were unable to see the film in theatres.

UPDATE: Link Fixed. User uploaded a new video of the film to replace the old one.

Wow, what a nice little treat. Despite some voices, it sounds like most of the dub is good for 4Kids standard.

Now, has anyone heard anything on the Japanese version release?

I knew you could erase the originals voices in a video like to get the BGM for example but not you can put new voices instead. Fist time I see a video like that. I don't know If It is the true dub voices but they sounds not bad.

That's the dub voices. The lines are the same and I'd recognize 4kids voice acting anywhere. That person is bold to post it on Youtube.

I can vouge, those are the dub voice, I can remember from when I saw the movie in theater. Having seen it once, when I get the DVD, I'll watch it once more in my bluRay player to see it in 720p upscaled (not too bad) then check out the Japanese version. I wonder if for the movie they recorded the audio in 5.1 like for American shows, or the simple 2.0 like for most anime shown on Japanese TV.

This recording definitely has better quality that the previous one. It's also nice that there aren't skipped scenes. Just watching this makes me imagine how awesome Kagami's animation will look like when the movie is watched in its true HQ. That makes the fangirl in me to scream. xD

Is it confirmed to have the Japanese version? Is there a place I can purchase or import the version coming out? Sorry, I just haven't had to time to keep up with these things lately.

Even if it's dub only, this was done well enough for me to want to buy it.

    Thank you!

And I have now preordered it. Hopefully the Japanese limited edition version (if there is one) will come out on HMV soon. I can then have the English dub and the original in my collection if it is not shown on this DVD.

I wonder if there is a way to get my Blu-ray player to be region free...

Just to note the user has deleted the video from YT. Hopefully he'll upload it again once he fix it. (This guy is a quality perfectionist even for a camera recording) The first 5 minutes will have no sound, bu neh.....it's not a big deal.

UK cinema update.... this was on Twitter yesterday..

In_England @MangaUK you might want to remind people that @picturehouses cinemas only will let you in if you have a child under 12yrs old with you.
    Retweeted by MangaUK
Picture Houses have also tweeted that they are trying to arrange adult screenings but currently it appears that the movie will be shown only in cinema kids clubs so you might have to hire a child to go and see it

EDIT: Newcastle screening is definitely kids club for the moment. Showing at 12:00. I've booked tickets for that but if a later viewing is added I may book for that too and spend the day up there. Just glad that I'll get to see it at the moment (even if the cinema will be full of ankle-biters )

Yeah, one person on twitter told me about the whole region locked thing right after I ordered it, which I totally forgot about.

Even if it's a region locked PAL DVD, can't you still rip the footage off like you normally can or am I missing something? I've never worked with a foreign disc before.

Yeah, even if 4KID'S dub wasn't that bad this time, Dan Green's voice as Dark Yugi still annoys me.

Also, it seems GrannelInfinity deleted the recording of the movie I posted up earlier. He just released a new version though, so the link has been updated

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll just post it here again.

At least in the new version the difference between picture and sound isn't that big - just 1 second. YT have messed the sound of the previous one pretty bad at the end.

Well, it's been a little while since I watched the Canal J version of the film (as I'm french), and I must admit that except Kaiba's and Pegasus' voice, the other one are not that bad (even if my french comrades are, at least most of them, saying that it's just trash), and both of the Yugi voices are damn good, compared to the former ones in DM. Well, there are things which are not... expected, such as what Pegasus said when he happened to talk, or the speed of when Paradox talks. I can't wait for the UK release of the Blu-Ray, I will import it for sure, in order to have the original version subbed.

What I found most disturbing and unexpected is Yugi's speech towards Paradox - "We don't care about your backstory, we just care about keeping our world safe!" That's just not Yugi we know. o.o I'm still in a little bit of a shock of this. Anyway though....at least this shrieking tone in his voice is gone and he does sound a little bit older.

I agree. Let's wait for the original version. I am sure Yugi says something different.

I just forgot this point, I never saw Yugi like this, or he was still shocked of founding his grand-father death maybe. But let's see the original version, sure it'll be better than 4KIDS (in a way... If it's not... XD)

4kids changed the script. In the original version for example,Jaden never denied that Yusei was from the future.

I don't understand why 4kids changed the script. They ruined this movie.

Well, nobody denies the original will be better. Yugi's line there is "Are you trying to say it's perfectly fine to sacrifice everyone like it's no big deal!?" It definitely suits his character better that what 4KID'S decided to make him say.

Was there any sort of YGO episode that 4KID'S hadn't changed the script for? NO. So that's not surprising. But still, aside from a few lines, this time they didn't do so bad. The dialogue isn't forced, and the music is tuny. We know 4KID'S will never achieve perfection with any YGO or another anime series they take the license for, but this time things with this movie are very well bearable.

So let's leave "poor" people alone. xD They're lost enough in forensic problems. I guess this movie was the last thing YGOish they will ever dub.

Understandably it is a stupid rule if true. Cinedigm in American pretty much could tell most of the viewers would not be kids ...

I only saw the DVD up on Amazon UK. A Blu-ray is being released as well? If so, I will cancel my DVD and order the Blu-Ray.

Is there any confirmation on whether it will have the original track or is this just speculation?

This is true. I posted it earlier yesterday and it was confirmed when I booked tickets to view in Newcastle. It is currently being shown only as a kids club film so you need to have a child of 12 or under to see it. Picture Houses UK have tweeted that they are trying to get adult screenings set up but nothing is confirmed yet.

According to Manga UK the DVD will include both English and Japanese films. I read yesterday on Twitter that there is speculation that the DVD is released in the US tomorrow, any truth in that?

Do you happen to have a link to where Manga UK said that?

Somebody else caught this too? That was my biggest problem with Jaden in the 4kids movie. Speaking of the script, is the rough translation still around here?

And now for my other biggest problem with this movie. I'm confused, should I wait for the original and hope it has special features, or get the 4kids english and japanese version (I still don't believe it has dual audio)... Sigh.

And now for my other biggest problem with this movie. I'm confused, should I wait for the original and hope it has special features, or get the 4kids english and japanese version (I still don't believe it has dual audio)... Sigh.

And this is what they said about the DVD
I am still not convinced it has the original, but if it does, I will be quite impressed. I may still pick up the Japanese release, assuming it comes with more extras and a better looking cover. But we'll see in time I guess...

Well, if subs are really released with the uncut original (that includes video as well), I will probably not ****** the movie. Again, I'll wait and see.

It might include the original Japanese version, the UK trailer shows the cards as they are in the japanese version of the film (we can see Judai using Fusion as a "true" card).

Dumb question, but I guess it's not possible for UK to make their own dubbed version?

While we won't know for sure until the DVD is released, I have the DVD's for Buso Renkin and Ouran High School Host Club which were both distributed by Manga UK. They both feature English dub and Japanese original with English sub option (in the case of Host Club too, to OP/END songs revert to Japanese if you take the Japanese language option). So, that looks promising. The thing for me will be what 4Kids have done to the original film (maybe nothing if the cards are left "true" like SurtKyo says)? If they have tweaked things, will Manga UK still put the untouched Japanese version on or the 4Kids version with Japanese voices (if you get what I'm trying to say)?

From the DVD's I mentioned above that have Manga UK's involvement, I get the impression that they are catered towards people like myself, dub version for ease to watch, but Japanese to see the anime in it's true form. Another thing to bear in mind is that I have the GX dub DVD's that were released here and they did not have any association with Manga UK and so, were purely the dub episodes (and at about 3 episodes per DVD, they were not value for money).

So I am quietly hopeful regarding the UK release. But if the 5th May release for US is confirmed, you guys will know what's included before us anyway (as I suspect both releases to be identical).

I know it's hard to believe that an English YGO DVD would include the subbed Japanese version, but it's been very very clearly stated numerous times. It's happening. Seriously, for real. There is no doubt.

It still sounds unbelievable, but once someone sees it with their own eyes we can all do The Dance of Joy xD

    1. We don't know if the USA version is censored as we havent seen all of the Jap version.

    2. If it is censored, the Jap version will also be censored to cut on the costs of getting to BBFC ratings

    3. Unless there are 2 sets of subtitles, we should expect the subs to be for the USA version rather than the japanese, being the fact it's in english is the main feature.

    4. To keep costs low, it could be the music in the Jap has been replaced with the 4kids dub. Not saying it is but could be a possibility. It's happened before.

Just saying, this is 4kids working with another firm, so please, don't expect miricles as you'll only be disappointed.

There's a difference between not expecting miracles and expecting only the most hateful possible outcome. The subtitles of the Japanese version will likely use TCG card names like Sonic Chick and Dark Magician instead of the real names, but it's not going to be the dub dialogue written down. That's just absurdly pessimistic.

If the Japanese audio is included, the subs should be fine for me, even if they use the English card names, which isn't the end of the world. In fact, I will be quite happy.

I kind of wish the UK would release the rest of the series like this...

The twitter post already makes it clear that there will be subs of the japanese version. The only thing I want to know if there will be alternate angles, or just the dub video, as I'd prefer having the original non-edited cards.

I guess the original Japanese video is being used, because as others just stated, the UK preview has the cards unedited.
