There's a difference between not expecting miracles and expecting only the most hateful possible outcome. The subtitles of the Japanese version will likely use TCG card names like Sonic Chick and Dark Magician instead of the real names, but it's not going to be the dub dialogue written down. That's just absurdly pessimistic.

Maybe they'll do what the uncut DM DVDs did, which was have two separate subtitle tracks; one using dub names and one using original names.

If we are using that video posted a little while ago, Kyte said that was the same video that played at ComicCon last year. I doubt the cards will be unedited for the dub track. If they are, the whole thing should be uncut (as in uncut audio, use of the word kill which the dub glazed over once).

No, it was said to have been because the YGO Syndicate demanded English names. Why? Probably brand recognition reasons so the customers don't get "Confused".

Well, if I remember from DBZ movie DVDs, uncut anyway, they did have the edited version (and by edit I mean the title sequence and ending sequence) whilst the Japanese audio plays.

So since apparently the movie was only edited on its title and credit sequences, and the cards and most likely putting English txt, the movie should still play fine with the Japanese audio since nothing else got cut or extended lip flaps and the such from what we know.

EDIT: That, or you can't switch the audio while watching the movie. Would have to be either select dub or original.

Was nothing really cut? It looked like a bit of the Pegasus scene was cut. Meaning some of the shots of the building falling were cut as opposed to the scenes shown in the special 5D's endings. Of course, it's an amazing feat that they even showed him being crushed by a building at all, even if shortened.

Actually, the US does have an official release date (somewhere in July) and a trailer (same one as always) saying Next Fall (weird since July isn't in the fall).

Yeah, that's kind of my point. The "official" release date is from websites that claim that is the date, but to my knowledge, there's nothing from 4Kids stating that, and the official website doesn't have the date.

Do you think that is because of what is going on with 4Kids at the moment? I remember in that statement about the lawsuit that it stated 4Kids UK isn't affected which could be why we are getting actual release dates and are able to pre-order.

About the trailer, I think we should notice that the same trailer has been shown with "4KIDS" cards and original cards, but both version were shown at different times if I'm not wrong : the first version was about the US release of the film in theaters, and the second one is supposed to be about the UK(/European maybe ? ><) version.

I don't think anything noticeable when watching was cut. As YYugi suggested, they are most likely including the 10 extra minutes of review footage as well. If not, who knows.

If it's that recap special with Rua and Ruka, I will be very excited. I know it's a recap, but somehow the thought of the two commenting on the previous series and showing scenes from the best moments makes me giddy as a fan.

It's both English and the original, as previously established.

To be honest, it'll be interesting to see it done both dubbed and subbed, considering the edits that were done in all the series.

No, this was aired in Japan as well. It's not something that was made just for an English release. It was shown to a small amount of people during a convention, I believe.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to wait and see. I'd like a blu-ray version because of the 3D aspect...but if the US version doesn't have it, then IDK. Plus, I'm wondering if the US version will only have the edited footage (Card-wise). I may just import the UK DVD, as it sounds like the best deal, especially since the JP Blu-ray won't have subtitles, so I'd have 3D but not be able to fully understand it.

I am not in the least bit worried about subs. Everthing else I have from the series is in raw japanese, so why start getting subbed releases now?

Because the majority of us do not speak Japanese so it will be nice to have a release with official subs (and to give people like GoldenUmi a break).

Amen. They really do need a break. Not that I really care; six moths of only having Spanish subs means I can pretty much just guess the meaning of the sentences.

Oh yes......the cover is very nice. x) The shots of BM, Neos and StarDust are directly taken from the movie, but even so, it looks very well. Although BM's pose reminds me of BMG's typical flying pose but anyway......xD
