I finally got to see the movie today

Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle was ace, we all got out Malefic Red Eyes Black Dragon and a lollipop as we entered the screen room (bonus )

What can I say? I thought the 10 minute series recap was really dull considering it failed to mention most things that were important to the English viewers (season 4 GX, "Jaden" not actually being dead etc). But I really enjoyed the actual film (although it seemed to finish really quickly). It's been so long since I properly watched any dub show so the voices were a bit odd at first but I got over that pretty quickly. I still love Judai the most out of the three protagonists but I did think that Paradox was a great character.

A really good way to spend an hour but now I want to see it in Japanese with the original music.


..... Oh, and as soon as it started we had someone shout.. CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES... hoho, what a wag!!!

Because the majority of us do not speak Japanese so it will be nice to have a release with official subs (and to give people like GoldenUmi a break).

On another note, Manga UK have said on Twitter that the UK cinemas that are participating in over 16 screenings (not sure who that is though), will have extra cards to give away (but they don't say which ones they are).

I understand that, but I would rather have the 3D Blu-ray with Japanese language, uncut, and no subtitles over average video that is edited and dubbed only.

Also, the UK one is pointless as it is a region B release, whereas Japan is Region A, just like the US.

Yes, Blu-rays have different regions that DVDs.

Blu-Rays I've gotten from Japan are region free. Like Strong World from One Piece. I believe the blu-ray for this movie is also region free.

I'm hearing that the movie will have a japanese audio option for UK and possibly US releases. If it's just UK, it won't be fair since the rest of the would would love for an dual audio version of the film.

In my response, I can say it's not fair the UK has to have a dub which is filled with Americanisms and american values. By putting the original japanese on, I feel that 4kids in many ways are saying "sorry" for all the years of colonialism through media. That is IF 4kids have much impact on this DVD or whether the publisher has opted for this option knowing a 4kids dub on it's own would not only be frowned upon and sell badly, but also would be deemed offensive to many here.

Yay, my nation was recognized in a post on janime! Wait... Dual audio? This just became worth it for me to buy. I assume that at least the American version will be dual audio if the UK one is, and Canada would likely have the same version as the US anyway (if not I'll just order it into a store in Watertown and go pick it up, that's basically how I got Repo!).

Can't believe that after 1,5 years of waiting for this movie i ll be able to watch it, as soon as one good UK citizen Yu Gi Oh fan upload it for the world. I would have done everything to watch this movie in theaters in 3d but living in Chile didnt make it possible, i almost spend all my savings just to go to NY for a month and be able to watch it even if it was the 4kids version. In the end i couldnt go cause the grandmother's friend who was supossed to take me passed away.

Just one week more...Hopefully the DVD and also the Blue ray will be uploaded so i ll be able to watch it in PS3 full HD*asking in advance to a friend to bring his PS3 to my house*.

Meh, I guess it's decent, but I'm still not happy 4Kids isn't so much willing to still acknowledge the existence of GX Season 4, at all. Also, look at around 8:21 in the recap. The error from "Hyper Drive" with the Nitro Warrior card accidently being turned into a 2nd Junk Warrior card has finally been fixed. For comparison:

Like 63cohen said, that was 4Kids' doing. The thing with two Junk Warrior cards was always a dub-only error in the first place. Glad they at least fixed it.

The only ones coming to mind in the Japanese version is Ghost rockin' a non-Speed Spell Reload in his hand, Yuma having two Monster Reborns, and Yusei somehow having Stardust Dragon/Buster in his Graveyard during the preview for 152. (Though I'm sure there's more)

No doubt. Great example is GX 84; Creature Swap randomly got changed to Ruthless Denial my mistake, leading to an analysis of Hell Kaiser's move that makes no sense.

They also said that it will include an uncut dub and that the Japanese version of the film is actually shorter than the dubbed version. In addition to this, they mentioned that they don't see any reason for 4Kids not to cater to both markets and release uncut versions. Apparently it would not affect their BBFC rating, neither would it affect sales other than positively. So I guess it's also possible for this to happen again in the future, unlikely unless Manga somehow gets Zexal though.
