    Just wanted to be polite, but I may give scanning the booklet (with the DVD) a shot perhaps. ^^

    Hard to tell because of the damn censorship. If you are talking about is subbing this, we are. I did 20 minutes or so and stopped when I saw Horoko was translating it. I put together a timed script with some lines from my 20 minutes and most of the lines from Horoko's version, and he has to finish the last part still.

    My Japanese DVD will arrive by the middle of next week at the latest. I will release a subbed version after that on Daily Motion with proper credits.

    No need to be. If you want to post scans, go for it. I have to scan my new 5D's boxes, so it will save me some trouble.

    Is the Japanese version of the movie edited for animation?

    Somehow the international version had different original animation from the Japanese version's animation.

    Ah. I believe 4kids never received the DVD masters of Bonds Beyond Time, much like they never received the DVD masters of 5D's. Probably part of an effective "screw you" to 4kids.

    Hence my statement.

    The International Version, provided to 4kids, of Bonds Beyond Time, uses a master footage from probably the first run of the movie. Not the cleaned up and fixed DVD footage used for the Japanese release. Why? Probably as a polite "Go Screw Yourself" from NAS and TV Tokyo to 4kids for basically screwing them out of millions of dollars.

    So how do you explain the fixed Yusei face at the end of episode 78?

    Dunno. But Starry noted earlier episodes were definitely the TV Masters, and not the cleaned up DVD masters.

    I don't think anybody can recall the differences, unless they were drastic, considering we don't have a camrip of it and the first theatrical run was over a year ago.

    Either somebody noticed it and fixed it up not long after the initial airing and that's the version 4kids got, or when they received the rest of the episodes (53-onward) they received the DVD master for it. Can't check and see for myself unfortunately.

    The biggest problem i had with the movie was Judai being the only one to react angrily and refer to Johan by name when he sees the stolen Dragon. >:O

    Yugi responded too. I wish he called the others by name, but it was enough of a nod.

    Regarding 4Kids "fixing" errors from the original, I've said before that they just get the fixed DVD Masters. I can prove this because the same fixed errors are fixed on the DVDs I own.

    I think the worst part was where he was attacked by Rainbow Dragon in Venice and didn't say anything about it. >.>

    Spoiler: Pt 4
    Be reborn, Sin Stardust Dragon!
    What!?
    They only have 500 Life Points left...
    If they get attacked now, they have no way to defend it...
    I've won!
    Be gone! Yugi, Judai, Yusei!
    Go! Sin Stardust Dragon!
    Yusei! You said that people have the power to change a hopeless future, did you not?
    Just what do you plan on changing from this future!?
    Is it useless?
    Our future...is in ruin...
    What's the deal, Yusei?
    You're giving up now? After you travelled all the way through time to get this far?
    It's our belief in Duel Monsters that caused us to travel time and meet one another.
    If so, there must be a meaning behind it.
    Whether our futures are the wrong ones is up to us to decide!
    Quick-Play Magic! Flute of Calling Kuriboh!
    I can add a Kuriboh or Winged Kuriboh from my deck into my hand!
    Yugi-san!
    Come, Kuriboh!
    I activate Kuriboh's effect!
    By sending this card to the Cemetery, it reduces one instance of Battle Damage to 0!
    What!?
    They did it! They blocked it!
    Impossible! Are you saying that you've blocked every single one of my attacks!?
    That's not all.
    At the end of this turn, Sin Cross' effect will stop, making your Sin Stardust Dragon vanish in the process!
    Then, through its Monster Effect, the real Stardust Dragon will revive!
    Stardust...
    Yusei...
    You have friends in your era who believe in you, waiting for you to come home, don't you?
    Yusei! x5
    Judai-san, Yugi-san...
    ...I will never give up, for the sake of my friends!
    Mm-hmm!
    Go, Yusei!
    Trap, activate! Stardust Mirage!
    When a Stardust Dragon is on the field, this will resurrect all of our monsters destroyed during this turn!
    What!? All of your monsters--!
    It's my turn!
    I won't give up on the future I'm headed towards!
    Yep, that's right, Yusei! Trap, activate!
    Neos Spiral Force!
    This will double the attack power of a monster on the field!
    Trap, activate! Black Spiral Force!
    That's right, Yusei!
    The only thing we can do is head forward!
    This card further doubles the attack power of a monster on the field!
    An attack power of 10,000!?
    Here goes!
    Black Magician!
    Elemental Hero Neos!
    This is our power to head toward the future!
    Stardust Dragon!
    Shooting Spiral Sonic!!
    What!?
    Does this mean that...my experiment was incorrect!?
    I made these cards especially for today!
    Please take them home with you!
    --Alright!
    --Please!
    --Thank you!
    I may have lost in the tourney, but I want one more go!
    --One more, please? --Heh, how many pictures are you gonna take?
    Are you guys going?
    Yes, we still have a lot left undone in our own eras.
    However, I think we'll be able to meet again.
    And when we do, please allow me a duel.
    Right, we'll meet again!
    As long as we believe in Duel Monsters, our bonds will always be joined together!
    I have no idea whether the future Paradox spoke of is the truth or not, but...
    Yugi-san, Judai-san...
    --Yusei! --Yusei!
    I will protect them.
    This world and my irreplaceable friends!

    You're just going to wait here and not do a thing?
    You won't be the same, once I make you up in my shining make up.

    With that fine skin, those cherry lips, tantalizingly cute smile,
    those glittering nails, hair gussied up, you've fixed yourself up nice,
    so can I take you into my arms?

    Can't be the me I want to be, nassy ka ka nassy
    Can't stop the negative thoughts, negatty ga ga ga

    Are you giving up on what you believe?
    You can be strong, once I make you up in my magic make up.

    With that silky skin, glossy lips, scent as sweet as any fruit,
    glistening nails, and seductive wavy hair, you've fixed yourself up nice,
    so can I take you into my arms?

    and I want to take you in my arms.
    With that silky skin, glossy lips, scent as sweet as any fruit,
    glistening nails, and seductive wavy hair, you've fixed yourself up nice,

    Thank you for supporting our 10th anniversary.
    Please keep continuing to enjoy the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" anime!

    As a side note, the translation of makemagic in here has the "mike" to "make up" correction. At first, it was an honest mistake and later, after I realized it, it was something I kept in as to keep tabs on translation stealing butt-caressers.

    Thanks so much for your work on this Horoko. Too bad we can't have your work on ZeXal, but I'm sure you have no interest in it. So see you around and hope you stay well.

    Horoko, there were a few lines you either missed or forgot to post in the script that I added in. The only one I wasn't too sure of is in bold, during Paradox' introduction to Yugi and company. If you wouldn't mind, could you check out that line and post the corrected line if it needs correcting? Thanks.

    I also noticed you had the last three lines of the lyrics re-looping to the wrong section of the chorus, so I fixed that as well. Did you make any significant changes in the lyrics? I added them before you posted that.

    The Dailymotion version will come soon.

    I now have the Dailymotion version uploading. Lia or anyone else, within the next 5 hours or so, please check on the status of this upload and post it for me, since I'll be sleeping, if you don't mind.

    I couldn't un-mirror the video but I did fix the audio issue. You should enjoy it better with higher quality audio now. Consider this a temporary until the DVD arrives in the mail for me. It's already in my state here, so expect it to happen Tuesday at the latest.

    I posted it already. Don't worry, it's not a link to download files so it will be okay.

    This is definitely 5.0 audio. Now that I fixed the audio, that much is apparent.

    I couldn't un-mirror the video but I did fix the audio issue. You should enjoy it better with higher quality audio now. Consider this a temporary until the DVD arrives in the mail for me. It's already in my state here, so expect it to happen Tuesday at the latest.

    Ty very much, i really appriciate your hard work.

    I ll wait for the final version with better quality because i want that the first time i watch this movie be the best it coud be.
    I want to download this movie so bad, then borrow a ps3 and watch it there to get the best quality.

    Interesting stuff i found in the dialogue at Poppo Time:
    Crow: Quite an old article you have there
    Jack: that man. i know who he his. That's the creator of Duel Monsters. Pegasus J. Crawford.
    Crow: Who's that standing next to him?
    Yusei:That would be the Duelist once said to be the strongest in Duel Monstrs History, Yugi Mutou.

    It was rumored he had the soul of the Nameless Pharaoh.
    Jack: What I'd give to fight him once. Seeing as how its impossible without a time slip or something.

    So it seems by the way Crow is unable to recognize Yugi and that it isn't possible that Jack can duel him in his time line, one can infer that the gap between DM and 5D's is rather large.

    Well, GX was 10 years, 5Ds is at least 20 years later than that, according to Ushio being the same one as in the Manga. It is quite obvious for Yugi to have retired from dueling. Therefore, Jack can't Duel him.

    hmm. true, i suppose. But if the game was only invented no more than 20-30 years ago, how could Crow not recognize the most famous Duelist of all time? And Jacks knowledge of Pegasus made it seem like it wasn't common knowledge of who he was at this point in time. Arghh! too much Team 5Ds, we really should of had Ushio/Yugi interaction in this movie!

    You forget Crow's life. He may not have ever bothered to find out. Plus, Jack's comment. It was more for exposistion. The WRGP was sponsered by the Crawford Foundation after all. Jack must know who he is. But, its 40 or so years into the future. Jack would have only seen him in articles or news footage. Other people in the room may not have been aware of who he was - I cite Crow as an example.

    You see what I have to put up with now, making Yoshida's rubbish make sense, why doesn't he think through his plots?

    I can't wait to rewrite the movie.

    Oh Paradox, you were so very important and yet you never knew it. At least, that is my belief.

    Im just glad that the movie was acknowledged by Yusei in-series, and Paradox was more than a random nobody movie villain.

    Woulda been nice to give the guy some more specific backstory in 5D's tho. >_> like an actual death (human or robot) or when he met Z-ones group. =P

    After watching the GoldenUmi's mirror sub, I think I can make my standard prosconsneutral comment since Zexal episode this week did not give me anything to talk about.

    Pros:
    - Great animation (its a movie.. duh)
    - Reused music & sound effects from DM & GX series
    - Movie starting off w/ the crisis in Judai's era
    - Cyber End, Rainbow Dragon, & Stardust circling around like vultures
    - Aki winking... in Yusei's daydream (Yusei you dawg you... )
    - The movie really felt one of those Super Sentai team ups (5D's is sentai inspired so hell yes)

    Cons:
    - Wasn't it TOO CONVINIENT that Rua & Ruka were doing a report on the origins of Duel Monsters?
    - Pegasus eye animation error (the mirrored version actually corrected it)
    - Rally not being seen in Yusei's circle of fwends (Yeah, ditch the girly boy who gave you a card, pushed your D-Wheel while losing his cloths & cards, & not to mention a plot point that made you lose Stardust Dragn to Jack in the beginning of the series)
    - Paradox's demise was never revealed. For all we know, 'this' Paradox went back to the future after his defeat to become the bald old man we see in the series.

    Neutral:
    - Judai being in Europe is a odd choice of place (Yes he said he was investigating the stolen cards so does that mean he became a detective?)
    - Dark Magician & Dark Magician Girl talking. (Yes they're iconic & all but c'mon, it was irrrelevant to the plot. You don't see Neos talking do you & he protected Judai from a real attack?)
    - Credits was awesome but felt like it was just promoting cards.
    - Gladiator Beast Gyzarus & Card Excluder (shown by a cosplayer) seems to exist in Yugi's era. It's weird because Card Excluder was Judai's one-shot card.

    I have to fix a lot in this because I kind of translated on the fly for the most part. That line goes like this, though:

    The future you consider correct is incorrect,
    and the future that you may first consider incorrect is, in fact, correct.

    The lyrics only have 2 lines changed, changing any instance of "make you up in" instead of "make you into" because otherwise it kind of sounds weird.

    Actually in Duel Monsters they do, since they ARE the spirits of Mahaddo and Mana. they aren't made up monsters like Neos. They spoke in the Ceremonial Duel and various times in Millennium World. Neos spoke in GX too....

    BMG also spoke in the Noa's Arc episodes during the duel with Anzu. I know that was a virtual reality, so it might not count, but I also didn't find strange that the magicians were speaking to each-other in the movie. I even actually liked it.

    Since I don't like to make a list with pros, cons and neutrals, for me the most memorable thing in this movie will be the GORGEOUS art design and animation. I love Kagami's style to death and really missed this guy. The second place is taken from the good old DM & GX VAs and the original music, which we all greatly missed. The third place is probably for Paradox, since the 5D'S anime didn't respected his importance as a character and didn't even show him in younger age (well, once, but it was again just a movie footage)
    And the movie's biggest mistake, or let's call it omission, is that the Egyptian Gods weren't shown. I know Stardust Dragon's """awesomeness""" would've been upstaged in this case, but it's still really big shame. Another minus is the short duration and that there was no opportunity for deeper communication/interaction between the protagonists, but I won't get into that because there's no meaning.

    Nevertheless, this movie was a really nice small gift for all fans of the YGO anime series and I definitely don't regret it was made.

    Just watched it with subs. It was good, but nothing amazing (except for the animation). It just felt so rushed because of it's short time limit, like it was a trailer for something bigger, at least for the pre-duel part of the movie.

    They didn't use the character's personalities that much, (in fact, I feel that the 4Kids version did that better), making the whole meeting between the three just seem like a gimmick, and it shouldn't be when it's the focus on the movie.

    I really expected more of the music too. Why they used NONE of DM's soundtrack (well, unless you count the GX version of Passionate Duelists, which isn't really that good to me anyways) is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, GX and 5D's both have really good tracks (<3 Light and Darkness), but when most of the movie takes place in Yugi's time, plus that it's a 10th anniversary movie makes it feel like they really left something important out.

    Not only that, a lot of the music there was felt very misplaced, like it would play at the wrong situations. That's not to say it didn't have good moments, the music during Paradox's final Battle Phase gave some incredible tension, but overall, I'm sort of disappointed in the music in this movie, especially because I feel that it's one of the highlights of the franchise. The music in the 4Kids version is much better placed, honestly. I've never talked very good about 4Kids' music choices, but this is an exception.

    The Duel itself was really good though, and the animation was fantastic, but it's way too short, making it lack in a lot of places. It's still a good watch, though. I'm tempted to say that the 4Kids version actually is better as a whole, but I'll wait until I get the DVD with both versions.

    Blame Stardust Dragon that didn't do much than giving Yuusei a cool pose with the attack of Sin Truth and ended the duel with the help of Yugi and Judai.

    The one that did a lot here was Judai with his traps, Neos Knight and Kuriboh's Flute. Those ones really upstaged all the protagonists for me. (Im not complaining btw)

    Also, the God cards couldn't been included since the movie was so short and every protagonist, minus Yuusei, had only one turn and Yugi wouldn't be able to have Three monsters on his field at time.

    Heh.....to be honest, Kagami's the one who gave all the cool poses in this movie, so Stardust Dragon don't have any service for that. xD

    I won't get into deep commentary of the duel itself, but for me all 3 protagonists made pretty smart moves. If Judai helped with his traps, then Yugi helped with his magics and Yusei with his monsters' effects, so I guess none of the 3 upstaged the other 2.

    Yeah, that's why I said another minus is the short duration, which didn't allow either deeper communication/interaction between the protagonists or more detailed and longer duel. And I won't deny the movie needed the presence of more DM and even GX characters, even being for short amount of time as we had with Yusei's gang.

    But as a whole, I'm really grateful for everything we got with this movie, no matter it could've been made a little bit better. ;p I still like it very much. x)

    My one problem with this is that there wasn't a "HOROOOOBI NO BAAAAAASUTOOOO SUTORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMU!!1!" from Paradox when he attacked with Sin Blue-Eyes. For shame, Paradox. I guess Kaiba trademark'd that, too.

    ...Also, I guess some of the music placement, and the fact that they didn't elaborate more on scenes here and there, but that's been mentioned. They could've shown Judai getting back to his time and parting with Yusei, at least...

    Still an enjoyable 50-minute watch, though, so I can't complain much. Thanks for translating, Horoko, and for timing, GU. BTW, just some minor things I noticed in the subs, for reference:

    -At 31:00: "When an Elemental Hero on the field is destroyed [by an effect], it..."
    -At 34:39: "I activate the Magic card, Black Twin [Burst]!"
    -At 38:12: "Stardust's effect [activate
    s]!..."

    (5D's 1-53, 65-66, 71-73; thanks to Jake for the banner)

    I know Stardust didn't gave him that pose lol, but you get my point xD

    Also that looks more like Maruyama for me, the scenes of Kagami Yuusei didn't give me that awesome feel (except for the eye coloring that was simply Beautiful ^^ if that even counts ).

    The lyrics only have 2 lines changed, changing any instance of "make you up in" instead of "make you into" because otherwise it kind of sounds weird.
    Thanks. It seems I did get the right lyrics after all. And I updated the script with those two lines. If you happen to make anymore changes before I make an HQ raw and reupload it onto Dailymotion, I will update it. Either way, any changes made will be updated in the script.

    Hold off. This is the bad version. Once I get my DVD, there will be a better quality, non-mirrored version up. And it will also be in our forum and the Download Forum here for download.

    Yes, that was annoying we didn't get Blue-Eyes' attack name!

    Thanks for those fixes. I also added these.

    And FYI, my freaking package came 25 minutes after I left to work this morning and I missed it. And my lazy ass dad didn't answer the door. So I had to reissue a rescheduled delivery. I HOPE it comes tomorrow or I will be pissed.

    I blame my father for ignoring the door and then sleeping when I got home so I couldn't even ask for a ride to the post office. And I blame my work for scheduling me earlier than usual on the one day I needed to be here at 10 AM.

    Well, hopefully it'll come tomorrow and I'll calm down, but that expensive package that has the movie and two of the latest 5D's box sets in it, worth more than 500 dollars, just floating around the freaking post office really makes me uneasy.

    Ahem, sorry, just a rant there.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    As everyone has said, this is probably a rundown on what the movie has:
    The good:
    Amazing animation, great music overall, amazing voice acting, interesting premise.
    The neutral:
    The plot is actually pretty generic when you get down to its roots.
    The bad:
    The length, the lack of music tracks from Duel Monsters, lack of other character interactions/appearances/mentions, lack of an actual role for Yusei's gang other than just standing there, lack of any foreshadowing of Z-one, Antinomy, Aporia/tenors or anyone else involved in any way with the Yliaster plot. Lack of Paradox's backstory or really any depth to him, despite having interesting lines and personality that could potentially have.
    I have decided on a whim to do a novelization of this movie as well, to add to my growing list. It could have been so much better. Expect this thread to pop up soon in the fanfic section!
    GU, you need a car of your own. XD
    (I assume you don't have one since you couldn't go to the post office without your dad)
    I need a license of my own, lol.
    Yes, I am 21 and don't have my license. And there's many reasons for this, but either way it's been a problem left and right.
    And I'm too poor to afford a car. (Says someone spending 500 dollars on a package from Japan, right? But it's actually true.)
