That's what happens when you mix the card belonging to a character who was an absolute joke and someone who, by all accounts, should be serious.

Yes, this. That really clashed a bit.

I always found it odd they never explained how he got the cards. Traveling through time, obviously. But there are so many different ways he could have taken them via time travel. Hell, he could traveled far enough into the future to a point where Kaiba was dead and grabbed Blue-Eyes that way. Stealing the cards was actually pretty unnecessary.

Then we have Red-Eyes, which isn't exclusive to any one character. Rare, but not one-of-kind. Hell, Fubuki had two. It's ambiguous if CED is exclusive to the Cyber Style dojo or not, so we don't know if he stole it from Sho or not, if he did steal it.

Oh, wow. My initial reaction is... I'm happy they remembered and kept Rainbow Dragon's attack name. My second reaction is... Oh man Paradox, I feel so sorry for you.

And now, I'm imagining Z-one's future where Synchro Summoning is such a big deal that reprints of 200 year old cards like Cyber End Dragon and Blue Eyes White Dragon are going for one cent on Neo-Ebay and Paradox just got them that way.

The 10th Anniversary website clarified he stole it from Jounouchi. Also, I'd bet my right arm Kaiba would take his three Blue Eyes White Dragons to the grave, or at least leave them to Mokuba. And given the fact he actively stole Stardust Dragon from Yusei Fudo's deck, I think it's safe to assume that he made a personal trip to steal each of the cards from their respective owner. Remember, Judai was investigating Venice because several of his friend's had their cards stolen by a mysterious duelist there.

And honestly, Cyber End Dragon will always be identified as Kaiser Ryo's ace card, before Sho's. From the majority of the anime, the manga, and even the duel terminal, Cyber End Dragon is always identified as Ryo's ace. So I doubt he stole it from Sho.

    Does it? Interesting.

Ryo gave Sho his Deck. He couldn't steal it from Ryo, since he doesn't have it anymore.

Yeah, I know. But still, it's....it's not Sho's ace. It's Ryo's. Sho's ace is Steamroid or Barbaroid

My point is that in-canon, it makes no sense for him to have stolen it from Ryo, unless he time-jumped to a point when Ryo still had it, then traveled to Venice. But I was assuming that he stole it in Judai's time, but post-series. I know it's more associated with Ryo than Sho.

    I know, I'm just kidding.

Either way works, but he definitely was stealing cards in Venice that's for sure.

    Fair enough then.

As for Sho's ace, he really doesn't have one. He seems to have a different one in every duel. He goes from Steam Gyroid to UFOroid Fighter to Jumbo Drill to Stealth Union to Cyberdark Dragon. I guess I'd have to go with Stealth Union overall, given that he chooses it to help open the portal, and the episode was called "Grand Gathering of Ace Cards".

And in the manga, he uses Armoroid, then the Solidroids, then Barbaroid.

I tend to believe he stole Cyber End Dragon while it was in Sho's possession, rather than Ryo's. Not any matter of 'who is the better duelist', just that it makes Sho's inheritance of it more noteworthy. But I suppose we'll never know, especially if the Anniversary Book didn't expand on it.

Anyway, Sho didn't really have a season 4 ace, since he only had one on screen duel. And in that duel, his ace was either Cyber Dark Dragon or Dragonroid or whatever.

If Paradox "stole" Red-Eyes Black Dragon from Jounouchi, then it's reasonable to assume he "stole" Blue-Eyes from Kaiba, and didn't just wait until he passed away or anything.

Although if Paradox was in fact stealing cards from the GX cast in Venice before fighting Judai, are we supposed to assume that after Yusei came and stopped him, he went back to Yugi's time not only to kill Pegasus, but also to snag Red-Eyes and Blue-Eyes at the same time for.... what? Fun...? Aside from the thematic value, why steal 'weaker' cards?

If he stole them before fighting Judai, then why didn't he just kill Pegasus then? Or did he steal the cards from GX era Kaiba and Jounouchi...???

Since when is Red Eyes and Blue Eyes weak?

He needed a 40 card deck. He cant just run 20 Sin Cyber End Dragons, Sin Rainbow Dragons, and Sin Stardust Dragons.

Well, not technically weak, but Red-Eyes 2400 versus Stardust's 2500 plus effect? And Blue-Eyes isn't really a tank with Cyber End and 4000 atk Rainbow Dragon.

I mean, they're great in there own ways, but he wasn't running a Red-Eyes deck or a Five God Dragon's Mirror Shining Ultimate Kaibaman deck, so my point stands.

And just how would those two cards make a difference in his 40 card deck? Unless of course he just had Stardust, Cyber End and Rainbow, and then purchased the rest of the cards he used in his deck from the DM-era?
He clearly made the base of the Sin deck in the future, as well as the technique to make Sin monsters. The only reason he had those two extra spaces was for fan-nostalgia.

To my understanding, he already had killed pegasus when fighting Juai, because the time he fought Judai in was 10 years after Yugi's time. However he still needed to go back in time himself, even though a future version had already done so, to complete the time loop.

He has to flesh out his deck. He can't just run Cyber End's, Rainbow Dragon's or Stardust Dragon's Sin counterparts.

Two of those three cards are one of a kind.

If he's going to have a 40 card deck he NEEDS to have other monsters. Why not get Red-Eyes and Blue Eyes? Seeing as how he stole several cards from different eras it's only natural there would be more. Because he had to have them.

The movie insert and website claims he assembled his deck from the strongest monsters in history. I think those were his very own words, at least in the dub. So yeah.

Although it's only 8 monsters, but decks have indeed been made with less. Okay, point made. Plus the strongest monsters from history thing. (He should have stolen Goyo Guardian~ j/k)

    As for Dragosix's point:

Now, I hate time loops, and while I technically understand the whole 'he went into the past so he had to complete the past before he could complete the present' thing (even though he was not show to have B.Eyes and R.Eyes in Judai's time) then why was he fighting Judai in Venice anyway!? What was he accomplishing there?

If the past happened 'first' then he had already stolen R.Eyes and B.Eyes. Those two would be enough to knock down the building Pegasus was in front of, and it's made clear that without Judai and Yusei's interference, Yugi would have been caught completely off guard and wouldn't have been able to do anything about the attacks. In fact, that would have not only killed Pegasus, but would have saved Paradox the trouble of having to duel and thus assembling a 40 card deck in the first place! Thus he wouldn't need to steal Rainbow Dragon and Cyber End, and he wouldn't need to steal Stardust either, thus not sending Yusei on his trail with the Crimson Dragon, because neither Yugi nor Judai seemed to have the ability to travel through time.

Of course, that wouldn't have made for a good movie, but still.

Although the past happened first. It could not have happened first if he had not gone back in time in the first place. Therefore he needed Stardust Dragon in order to get Red-Eyes and Blue-Eyes. But before he could get them, because he already had gone to the past and battled Judai, he needed to again. This was not really Paradox's choice, this was more time cannot really be altered. It's a stable timeloop. He went into the past because time said he already had which then allowed the future to be created so that he could then go into the past. Why did he need Judai and Johan's cards, not to mention Yusei? The answer is simple. Half an hour before he killed Pegasus he was challenged to a duel, in which it was shown that he already had those cards. Therefore in the future he needed to travel back to a time he could get those cards so he could create the future where he would travel back in time to obtain the cards he would then be seen using in the Duel.

Time wouldn't let him do anything else, in order to stop itself from shattering.

    A Stable Time Loop.

I am certain however that he was not aware that his plan was always destined to fail. I have a feeling Z-One however was fully aware it would. But that goes into a whole different issue that I believe The tenors played the part of Yliaster exactly the same, so that until the time they made their move in Season 2 everything would remain as it had in their origanal timeline. Allowing it to be new and in flux during Season 2 and not one giant paradox.

The current series of Doctor Who is full of them, if you are interested. Steven Moffat writes them very well.

Now you see why Season 2 of 5Ds is the mess it's in.

I hate damned stable time loops.

And yet I love Doctor Who. (But Steven Moffat has a host of other problems, including making his villains and his scares all too similar, as well as not balancing the moral conflicts as well as the 10th Doctor's were balanced. But Centurion Rory ftw, so he's forgiven.)

Still though, before the time loop existed as we currently know it, in which he did all those events thus setting them permanently in to place, what part of that involved going to Venice?

While Paradox's time from our (and time's) point of view was:

    • Paradox goes into the past, loses a duel against the three protagonists, dies
      • (Paradox goes into the past, kills Pegasus)
    • Paradox is in Venice, fights Judai, Yusei comes in
      • (Paradox is in Venice, kills Judai)
    • Paradox is in Neo Domino City, steals Stardust Dragon
      • (Paradox is in his original time with Z-one, goes into the past.)
    • The future is shiny because Yusei fixes everything with the power of Limit Over Accel Synchro.
Paradox's time from his point of view was:

    • Paradox is in his original time with Z-one, goes into the past
    • Paradox is in Neo Domino City, steals Stardust Dragon
      • (Paradox is in Venice, kills Judai)
    • Paradox is in Venice, fights Judai, Yusei comes in
      • (Paradox goes into the past, kills Pegasus)
    • Paradox goes into the past, loses a duel against the three protagonists, dies
My question is, aside from the fact that time forced him to do it, what part of his 'conscious plan' he concocted with Z-one in his original body's original timeline, involved killing Judai? It doesn't seem to fit with any of his goals, since Judai had nothing to do with Synchro Summoning or Momentum.

I think it more or less along the lines of "This kid's interfering with my plan to kill Pegasus! Well, since reality is going to end up being rewritten anyway, I might as well squish this little cockroach right now."

I love the soundtrack used for this version of the movie. The voices and everything just sound so much better. And again Judai played some sick support all duel long. When I first saw him lay 4 cards down I was like wtf is he doing??

I just compared to two again to make sure I didn't sound to biased. In context, I see what you meant about him "sounding more insane" in that particular frame, but there is a simple reason for that.

American voice actors have the great advantage of seeing their characters in action before finding the voice for them. In the Japanese, the voices are recorded first. That alone changes how the actor perceives the line.

I still argue the Japanese actor was better. He may not have sounded as "insane" in that shot, but his performance over all throughout the entire second half of the movie really shows, as others said, how he starts out cool and calm and then goes f!cking insane. It was beautiful... I admittedly love evil characters and their ridiculous over the top speeches.

As others have said, the HAHAHAHAIAMEVIL stuff only works on people like Dark Malik, because let's face it... Dark Malik was the embodiment of Malik's eternal pain and suffering after having a knife carved into his back and his father being a total bastard. If he was all ponies and glitter, you would think something was wrong with him. Oh wait, something is wrong with him, very much so.

And then there's good old Bakura. Considering he is the embodiment of darkness itself, arguably equivalent of Satan and Hell in Christian perspective or any demonic being in any belief... his laughing all the time makes perfect sense.

As for Paradox losing it in the end... it also fits because he put his entire life into trying to fix the ruined feature he and his companions came from. For him to be on the losing side would definitely push him over the edge. To his eyes, the other three are the bad guys and you could honestly argue that is the case, which is the beauty of this franchise and something ZeXal has yet to show me.

You have to balance out how you do that kind of stuff, because with a lot of these characters, there's a lot more to them than just "LOL KILL KILL KILL."

Only a very select few of them are that two-dimensional. Like Haga, or as I said Dark Malik. Those kind of characters are already designed to be annoying or played as ****ing crazy. But if you're a real character with real motivations, an evil cackle is just silly.
Guess I already commented on this in my above response, haha.

That reminds me. Anyone else think the writers put Elemental Mirage into the movie as a message to Konami saying "release this already"? They released Destiny Mirage so long ago.

Regarding Me & 3D Bonds Beyond Time

I am also considering doing the Japanese version of 3D Bonds Beyond time movie if that's cool with you all, but I don't want to take it away from anyone else who is also doing it, but the main reason I want to do them because to me, they would be the topper to my 5Ds Screenshots that I did for the past 3 years.

    Thanks for reading that ^^.

I'm pretty sure I remember a director confirmed it or someone did confirming it was Jonouchi's. I do wish they would have showed at least other characters from the other series, It would have been nice to see Ryo, Kaiba, Jounouchi, and Johan.

    EDIT: Sorry, nvm.

I will scan the DVD when I get it next week, unless Kaiba wants to do that as well. But I don't mind.

Well, judging from the Chinese subbed vid, no. It may be there as an extra feature.
Besides, most of the recap was dub footage. The Exodia summoning had the edited hexagram.
And to add, the GX and 5D's footage they used had the dub counters, while the movie itself used the JP counters.

Also, hilariously, the DVD Booklet Togepi scanned quite possibly answers a major question on Yubel:

Yubel, in their demon herm form, is referred to as "ユベル少年体" (Yubel Shounentai). Which can be taken as two ways:

    "Yubel: Child Form"

    or

    "Yubel: Young Boy Form"

    Spoiler: Pt 3
Unfortunately, such a lowly monster doesn't hold a candle to my Sin Cyber End.
With Stardust Dragon out of your possession, you are simply no match for me.
    It's my turn.
Allow me to show all of you something interesting.
I send the Ultimate Gem God, Rainbow Dragon, in my deck to the Cemetery to Special Summon Sin Rainbow Dragon!
Why, you! How dare you use Johan's card!
Two monsters with 4000 attack power!?
My deck is a different dimensional area with the strongest cards from every and all eras.
    Disperse before its might!
Sin Rainbow Dragon! Over the Rainbow!!
    Junk Guardna's effect activates!
This card can switch a monster attacking into defense mode once per opponent's turn.
Fended that one off, did you?
Still, Sin Cyber End has yet to attack.
    Take this! Eternal Evolution Burst!!
    Yusei!
    Are you okay?
    Yes, I'll be fine.
While dueling in Sin World, when your Life Points are depleted, you meet your end.
I activate Junk Guardna's other effect!
When thsi card is destroyed, it switches one of my opponent's monsters to defense mode!
Also, I activate the Trap, Miracle's Afterglow!
This revives a monster destroyed by battle during this turn from the Cemetery!
Sorry, he took a lot of my Life Points.
    No, you've done well.
You managed to fend off attacks from two 4000 attack power hitters! Good going!
    Yugi-san...Judai-san...
His deck may be outrageously strong,
but if we combine our forces, we can and will beat it!
    Mm-hmm!
So, faced with a future set in defeat, you struggle through thick and thin.
    Interesting.
This is a prime example of human contradiction.
I place one card face-down and end my turn.
Here I go! I'm gonna show you the power of my Hero deck!
    It's my turn!
    Yusei, I'm borrowing some strength!
I activate the Magic card, Fusion!
I'll fuse the Junk Guardna on the field with the Elemental Hero Neos in my hand!
Yusei! This is the new Hero with our combined strengths!
Appear now, Elemental Hero Neos Knight!
Neos Knight increases in attack power equal to half the attack power of Neos and the fused Warrior-type monster!
Go, Neos Knight! Wrath of Neos Slash!!
    Neos Knight's effect!
Neos Knight can attack twice in the same battle!
    Now, go!
    What!?
    I did it!
Incredible. To think you defeated, not one, but two powerful monsters.
Don't get ahead of yourself, Judai!
It is now that I activate my Trap, Sin Tune!
When a monster with Sin in its name is destroyed, this lets me draw two cards.
In that case, I place all of my hand face-down and end my turn.
    That's a drastic strategy.
    Judai, you're one daring duelist.
I believe in you and Yusei.
That's why I'm willing to go the distance.
Right! We'll show him the mightiest combination out of us three!
Incredible. Faced with such a formidable enemy, the both of them are enjoying the duel.
    It's my turn!
I will add a monster with Sin in its name at random into my hand in lieu of drawing.
Now I have all the key cards in my hand for victory.
It would appear that your hope is at its end.
I send Stardust Dragon from my Extra Deck into the Graveyard...
    Appear now, Sin Stardust Dragon!
    Stardust...
How dare you reduce Stardust to that!
Allow me to unleash Stardust Dragon's power to its fullest.
    I summon Sin Parallel Gear!
I'm tuning Sin Parallel Gear to Sin Stardust Dragon!
    What!?
You are not the only one capable of Synchro Summoning.
O Darkness born from the dimensional rifts,
Pull the curtain of ruin on this stage beyond time and space!
    Synchro Summon! Sin Paradox Dragon!
    It's huge!
    Sin Paradox Dragon's effect activates!
When successfully Synchro Summoned, it will resurrect a Synchro Monster in the Cemetery, ignoring Summoning Conditions.
    Be reborn, Stardust Dragon!
    Stardust Dragon...
Sin Paradox Dragon reduces the attack power of all of your monsters by the attack power of the resurrected monster.
    Feel its curse, Neos Knight!
    Neos Knight!
This is not good. If they take an attack at this rate, then Judai and the others will lose-nya.
    Farewell, historic duelists!
Sin Paradox Dragon, destroy Neos Knight!
    Heads up, Judai.
    Yeah, I know.
    Trap, activate! Hero Barrier!
When an Elemental Hero is on the field, it'll negate one of my opponent monster's attacks!
    Great!
    Alright!
    Damn your shrewd tricks!
    Trap, activate! Sin Claw Stream!
When a monster with Sin in its name is on the field, it destroys an opponent's monster!
But it's now that my Trap activates!
    Elemental Mirage!
When an Elemental Hero on the field is destroyed, it revives that mosnetr!
    Be revived, Neos Knight!
    Nice going, Judai!
I wouldn't dream of leaving my field open when passing things off to you, Yugi-san!
Right. Judai, I'll carry on your drive to fight!
No matter how many times you revive your monsters, it's futile.
So long as Stardust Dragon is on my field, Sin Paradox Dragon's effect will reduce the attack power of your monsters by Stardust Dragon's own attack power.
    Stardust Dragon...
    Yusei...
I'll get back your Stardust Dragon at all costs!
    Yugi-san.
I place two cards face-down and end my turn.
    Here I go, Paradox!
    It's my turn!
Come, Spirit of the Nameless Pharaoh!
    Yugi-san, use my strength!
    Right.
I'll add one Monster Card from my deck into my hand due to Reincarnation of Hope's effect.
    And I'm choosing...the Black Magician!
Of course it's the Black Magician...
I activate the Magic card, Ancient Rule!
It allows me to Special Summon a level five or higher Normal Monster in my hand!
Show yourself! My mightiest servant, Black Magician!
So, this is Yugi-san's ace card, the Black Magician...!
    Yeah, here's Blamagi!
However, it will be inflicted by Sin Paradox Dragon's effect.
As long as Stardust is on his field, they don't have a chance-nya.
    Yugi-san...
Forget about me and destroy Stardust Dragon.
    Yusei...
Stardust wouldn't want to continue being used by him.
What's the matter? Bring it on.
I activate the Magic card, Student-Teacher Ties, from my hand!
When a Black Magician is on my field, it allows me to Special Summon his disciple, the Black Magician Girl, in defense mode!
Mentor, we have quite the tough-looking foe on our hands...
Do not falter. With us and our master joining forces, victory is assured!
    Yes, sir!
Next, I activate Miraculous Magic Gate!
When there are two or more Spellcasters on my field, it switches an opponent's monster to defense mode and gains control of it.
    Don't get hasty...
I activate the Trap card, Sin Force!
The monster equipped with this card cannot be affected by an opponent's Magic effects.
That makes you unable to steal my Paradox Dragon.
    Then that just means...
    What!?
Yusei, I've got your card back!
    Yugi-san!
You had planned on stealing Stardust Dragon back from the very start, hadn't you?
Mm-hmm, that means Sin Paradox Dragon's effect is gone and our monsters' attack powers will return to normal!
Not bad, Yugi. Though, even if you regain your attack power, Paradox Dragon's attack power is 4000--a far cry away from any of your monster's attack power.
    I wonder about that.
I activate the Magic card, Black Twin Boost!
It'll increase the attack power of a Black Magician by the attack power of a Black Magician Girl during this turn!
    What!?
Their total attack power is 4500!
Greater than that of your Sin Paradox Dragon!
Go! Black Magician, Black Magician Girl!
    Here goes!
    Yes, Mentor!
    Black!
    Twin!
    Burst!!
    That did it!
    Amazing!
    Victory is in sight now-nya!
    The true battle begins now!
Give up. You no longer have any monsters on your field!
    No, not yet.
That last attack may have seemed to be right at first glance...
but it was a huge mistake on your parts!
    What the!?
    Trap, activate! Sin Paradigm Shift!
When Sin Paradox Dragon is destroyed, by sacrificing myself and halving my Life Points, it will Special Summon Sin Truth Dragon!
Crazy jerk changed himself into his monster!
    Attack power of 5000...!
I will eliminate the lot of you by my own hand.
I place two cards face-down and end my turn!
    No way...
Oh, no-nya. Pegasus will be here any moment-nya!
I feel somewhat uneasy, for whatever reason.
    Yusei...
    He's going to be fine.
    Yeah.
    It's my turn.
    I activate Sin Selector!
I remove Sin Parallel Gear and Sin Cyber End to add two cards from my deck into my hand.
Next, I send two cards from my deck into my Cemetery.
Appear now, Sin Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Sin Red-Eyes Black Dragon!
    Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes too!?
    Go! Black Fire Blast!!
When a Sin Monster destroys an opposing monster, Sin Truth Dragon will destroy all opposing monsters!
    What!?
    Quick-Play Magic, activate! Fusion Cancel!
    Yusei, now!
    Junk Guardna's effect activates!
When an opponent launches an attack, it will, only once, change an opponent's monster to defense mode!
    Great job! Judai, Yusei!
However, Sin Blue-Eyes Dragon has yet to attack!
    Black Magician!
That activates the effect of myself, Sin Truth Dragon.
    Destroying all of your monsters!
    Stardust Dragon's effect! Victim Sanctuary!!
By releasing Stardust Dragon, it negates and destroys an effect that destroys cards!
    What!?
The only one going away is you!
    Don't trifle with me!
    Sin Truth Dragon's effect activates!
By removing the Sin Rainbow Dragon in my Cemetery, it negates the effect of myself!
And I still have myself, Sin Truth Dragon's attack left!
This annihilates all of your monsters!
Plus, for each monster destroyed by this effect, you all take 800 points of damage!
Grovel on your knees! Wallow in despair!
After all that, all our monsters get wiped out...
But my attack isn't done yet!
I activate the Quick-Play Magic, Sin Cross!
It resurrects a Sin Monster in the Cemetery until the end of this turn!

mmm... nope, its what I said.

In one interview with Greg Abbey (Yuusei's dub VA) he said that when he auditioned for the voice of Yuusei he didn't know what character he was doing, he didn't even know what the character was doing when he said the lines. He said someone guided him in how to do his voice. So when he watched the show he was really surprised what it came to be.

But I guess thats just 4kids way of dubbing.

For the Youtube videos I've seen of the Japanese recording, they record their lines while watching the episode along with the other Seiyuus that take their places to grab the microphone when its the time for their characters to speak.

I guess they have to watch the video first for then making the voices while the episode runs.

Even if that is the case with this movie, traditionally it is the other way around. 5D's cast recorded their lines several weeks in advance.

Also, there is no way they can match lipflaps in the dub without viewing the movie. They may not WATCH it, but they are viewing their character speaking and matching the beeps. I know a good amount about this from listening to actual voice actors talking about it.

Actually, in the interview, he was talking about his recording of 5D's. Sure they do it with several weeks in advance, but they don't see the characters, they just do the voices in the dub.

That was referring to the Japanese cast, not the English.

And my point still stands about dubbing. As I said, I've heard from many English voice actors. I know what I'm talking about.

This covers up to where Horoko left off, all now timed. I kept a few of my original lines, but fixed up many Horoko's version had corrected. And obviously after the 20 minute mark is all his work.

Just to add further to discussion, I find it great how you really notice the improvement of Yugi and Judai's seiyuus over the years as opposed to their first appearance and in this movie years later. They do a great job in this movie all around. Yusei goes without saying - I always liked his voice.

Er no he does not, in fact no one who writes for New DW writes well at all. If you want a good time loop story try Doctor Who: Flip Flop by Big Finish. Now thats a quality look at paradoxs and time loops.
    In short New who sucks.

And yet I love Doctor Who. (But Steven Moffat has a host of other problems, including making his villains and his scares all too similar, as well as not balancing the moral conflicts as well as the 10th Doctor's were balanced. But Centurion Rory ftw, so he's forgiven.)

Nope, but Judai got in the way and I suppose Paradox may have indeed wanted to test his power that he had obtained. I am going with Judai got in the way. I honestly believe that nothing in Paradox's origanal plan actually involved killing Judai, or attacking him. We assume he died. Did he die? Was it said somewhere. Judai, quite simply, was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The thing with Moffat I find is that because of the story he is writing he really can't add conflict because we already know how it is going to end. I would also argue that, to me at least, it looks like he is deconstructing the moral choices and lonely god the RTD hinted at truly in his final daays. So at the end of the Series we will get back to the Doctor we had in the older Series. Someone who is most certainly not what The Doctor has become since The Specials onwards.

As for the monsters/villians, we shall agree to disagree on that.

Guys, while the debate over Who is lovely, and I as a fan appreciate Who discussion, go take it to another topic somewhere else on the board, dearies.

Also, I thought the Japanese Paradox voice was pretty well done. I'd need to hear the English version to comment on it.

The English Dub - at least the Duel - is floating around on YouTube somewhere. I did find the choice of dialouge quite amussing I must say. Not to mention DAN GREEN.

First of all all sincere gratitudes to Horoko - doing the translation and to GU - making the timed script. Secondly, thanks for all those wonderful scans and pictures. Like a loyal fan/girl as I am, I felt a severe breathlessness while staring at them open-mouthed. They are all amazing, especially art-wise. I don't think I'll get my eyes off them soon. My brain already totally blocked from the whole rush of emotions I got.
If I could bow as often as I want to everyone of you for the efforts, I would probably get a serious back pain. But it'll be worth it. Thank you.
Right now I need a little time to recover and will join the discussions later. xD

Thanks for finding that, I had forgotten exactly what tone Schemmel used.

I can't remember where it was mentioned, but in some continuity or another he wears a fake. Maybe for public events where he doesn't want to scare the children. Because usually he leaves the empty socket as a reminder of his failures. I'm sure Arynis remembers.

She actually emailed me about that:

But... the POL's (and the novel's) point was Pegasus keeping his eye socket empty because he preferred it that way, he even squicked Kaiba on purpose...

    And...

He squicked Frantz in GX by showing his (supposedly eye socket) to him ("you'll end up like me if you lust for power", etc)...

    ...

And the DM period in the movie is post Duelist Kingdom for certain, so it can't be the real thing.

Furthermore, it's the anime continuity, so no Bakura leaving behind the replica shenanigans

So Pegasus must have used one of his own replicas (from the soup incident in the manga or episode 028)

    But... but...

    *************A ;;

why you muck continuity even moar

Then again, Junki Takegami mucked up with Pegasus in the POL novel. That one had continuity issues too. (Pegasus stated in it that he seeked the Millennium Items to meet Cyndia, even though he had no knowledge of the Items until he encountered Shadi, etc etc. Also, he never needed the Items. Just KC and Solid Vision.) Oh well. v.v
but not trying to scare little children works.
