Perhaps it is being re-released in theaters so people who didn't catch the movie first can see it again. I sorta hope the future is changed, as having a bleak outlook on any future, especially one of a timeline you have come to love, it disheartening. I loved it when the series has a nice outlook, during the Fortune Cup. When things get bad, it just makes you want to see it changed. This is why I am hoping the future Paradox and Aporia came from doesn't come to be. But I feel like in Terminator, it can never be fully avoided. Unlike Terminator, this is a world where we have seen for over 10 years, and have come to love it in one way or another.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Maybe, though I see it as more allowing the Japanese audience to see the version with the deleted material put back in. Maybe.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
No, it's considered a freak oddity for a movie to get re-released for a wide-scale encore. Especially since the movie hasn't been released on DVD, which is even more of an oddity with how long its been since it initially came out.
And yes, it does seem to imply Paradox is a Cyborg. Perhaps the movie plot was supposed to be a brief... what's the term... manual on the sort of gimmicks to expect from the TV Show?

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
First of all, thanks for providing the info on the Encore Release, Ark! So it's an oddity to have that happen to movies, huh? Though, I've never heard of movies coming back to theaters for another run. I'll update the main post later.
...For which matter, I have to update a lot of Paradox related info in the main post now. Then there's the Wiki to update, but... @_@;
On the topic of news, Takahashi posted a new entry in his blog about Producer J.
Link: http://www.studio-dice.com/dice/mypage/107-j.html
Spoiler: The blog post in question
In a nutshell, Takahashi seems to be fascinated by the development of 5D's. That's great to hear!
Xenghost said it was supposedly from the staff blog, but I asked him about it when I noticed that the info wasn't supplied by the same person who posted a previous tidbit of the staff blog. So yeah, it's... kind of up in the air, I think?
The rest of the post is just my odd ramblings. :V
~~~
And yes, we finally, finally saw the origins of Paradox, at last! It was... close enough, with the Aporia bit. Close enough. At least we were right on the relation part!
I certainly didn't expect to see him as an old man, but damn if it wasn't an interesting flip on the events. Him being with old!Bruno, Zone and Aporia was pretty kickass, too.
But yes, Paradox being a Mad Scientist definitely shows now. His obsession with the experiments, his lab coat, and all the technology he/Aporia has/had. I wouldn't be surprised if he designed several things in the future, although it's certain they all worked together.
Comparisons between Aporia and Paradox. (Note, the picture with Sin Paradox Dragon and the Infinity Sign is merely a comparison with the infinity spam and the infinity sign on Sin Paradox Dragon's tail.)
- I think the bikes with the transformation capabilities and the draconic decorations could be a giveaway.
- Then there are the similarities with the whole "fuse by the waist" method.
- Sin Paradox Dragon bears the Infinity sign, which, while very subtle, could be an evidence for his link to the Four.
- Sin World -> "Shin" World -> New World.
- Cubic and Sin Truth - both are summoned by a Trap card (at least as far as anime effects are concerned) and both use Monsters from their theme to activate their effects. Sin Truth Dragon's Raigeki effect activates when a Sin Monster destroys an opponent's monster, and it keeps itself alive by removing a Sin Monster from the Graveyard. Cubic, on the other hand, uses the Machine Emperor parts for its effects (as far as I know).
- The Accel Synchro, which was Zone's invention, seems very similar in terms of looks to Paradox's time travel.
- Paradox did taunt Yusei with the feeling of DESPAIR, just like Aporia does.
And following the pattern with Aporia and Bruno, I believe that Paradox is, yes, also a cyborg, to an extent. But just like Bruno, he's probably just as subtle.
I did find one part odd in the movie, regarding Paradox.
When Paradox chooses to "sacrifice" his body, his D-Wheel is destroyed, but he seems to release sparks from his waist. Yes, it could be just for dramatic effect, but it looked... off. Odd. Maybe it's the side effect of his fusion - that he chose to unite with a part supernatural, part technological being. Note that the D-Wheel is also destroyed... or rather, replaced?
The lines on Sin Truth's head upon the fusion also look like Tron Lines. Circuitry. The way his hair is "plugged" into the Dragon, as well.
Since Paradox discovered the power of Duel Monsters, it would make sense if he continued his research on it. The development of Sin Paradox and Sin Truth Dragon. The power of "Sin". The reason he went on stealing monsters rather than having his own (with the exception of Sin Parallel Gear and the aforementioned Dragons).
Though, how he became his younger self is a mystery for the time being. We know Aporia was split into three parts to stand by Zone's side, as the last remaining human who was taken in by them. We don't know if Bruno or Paradox had any last wishes prior dying. Bruno is definitely linked with Zone, as they demonstrated in Episode 107. Has Zone decided to recreate his other comrades thus initiate his "all possibilities must be equal" plan? If Bruno gets a backstory expansion, I do hope this matter will be touched on.
Though, that previous theory I had on Aporia and Paradox representing the new and primal forces, respectively. Paradox went back in the past in order to save the future, the "beginning". On the other hand, Aporia is trying to correct the problem in the [future], or in other words, the present of 5D's. Hrm.
Oh, and I'll finish off this post with a realization...
Paradox's mask. The mask itself follows his face - the marks on the left part (mask's left) represent his eyebrow. The marks on the right represent... the monocle.
The monocle.
It was there all along. FFFFFFFF-
I'm pretty certain that Zone is the one responsible for bringing each of them back for his plan of reviving the future. If Zone could bring back an old man as a young cyborg version of his former self, capable of splitting himself into three versions of his past life, I think bringing back Paradox as a younger version of his former self, is just as likely.Originally Posted by Arynis
And those similarities you found were something I was *just* thinking about too. Sin Truth Dragon and Machinicle Emperor Cubic are quite interesting. Although slightly opposite. One being light, while the other is dark. And Sin Truth Dragon is just larger and stronger.
Great post Arynis! Wow, all is connected!
Oh, damn, I didn't noticed the monocle on the mask! Great about Sin Paradox!
It's a mad scientist. I didn't imagine him like that, I had wrong. I'm curious to know his background story.
EDIT:If he had been trabsformed in cyborg, his counscieness of the one he was before can It be changed?
If Zone wanted do experiments to prevent the future to happen in having control on Momentum and other things, why he hasn't simply changed History like Tenors did in the present?
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
The episode got me quite pumped up, so I hope so! I'd love to see more of their times together, working on their plans. Though, I do wonder if the movie has alluded to any of it with the image video of Paradox doing his experiments.
It really is! I was like, "Wait, what? Whoa." myself. XD
Hahahah. XD Well, there it is! Or more like, just part of it. I already rambled about other things elsewhere, but I could share in the thread as well.~ Not to mention I may have new thoughts coming up.
Yeah, that's true. It does make me wonder what was up with those pods. As Shadowalais noted, could they be corpses of the dead citizens? What if Zone is capable to clone/restore people from their pods...? How many times could he reuse his friends and help them avoid their bitter deaths, for the sake of keeping his promise and revive the future? That's kind of heartwarming and utterly disturbing at the same time.
Yeah, that seems very likely. It's kind of sad, considering that Bruno had the most positive life out of the entire group. Even if the amnesia and the creation of the "Bruno-chan~" persona may have been accidental, at least he had a happier, more laid back time together with people who liked having him around. Unlike Aporia, whose Placido personality was truly bitter, and Paradox who was deeply involved with his experiments, paying no attention or empathy towards anyone.Zone seems to be behind all of these attempts at erasing the past. It makes it seem highly likely Bruno will either turn dark side and go against Yusei, or try to tell Zone off and say they were wrong, and thus get killed by him.
It makes me think... Zone's friends ultimately fail at their goal. Aporia will fail because he was entirely consumed by his despair. Paradox failed because he had the most powerful Duelists against him, and because he took a risky if desperate move and fused himself with Sin Truth Dragon. Bruno drove off the road and fell into the sea, giving him amnesia and creating his "Bruno-chan~" persona. (Although this doesn't seem to be much of an issue, considering Zone just told him to remember his mission.) But he may end the way you predicted.
Or hell... they didn't even "fail". They may have gone into their mission with Zone being aware of their mission not working out. "Follow the path which you think is right." "All possibilities must be equal." Of course, they are fighting for a better future, so they obviously don't think of losing. But the thought of them going ahead with their respective tasks knowing their desired path may not be carried out in the end. All they know is that they have to try.
But that means Zone... with none of his possibilities working out --his friends' paths getting eliminated--, ultimately left alone, with Yusei as the sole person and option remaining.
And those similarities you found were something I was *just* thinking about too. Sin Truth Dragon and Machinicle Emperor Cubic are quite interesting. Although slightly opposite. One being light, while the other is dark. And Sin Truth Dragon is just larger and stronger.Haha, hivemind? XD
Yeah, I forgot about the Attributes. That's there, too. Though, Cubic being a Light Monster despite being a "Devil of Despair" won't stop being amusing. Although it is a God...
But. Cubic. Hrm. For some reason, I'm getting the vibes from its summon scene. "This is our grand design, our joint effort to change the future. Our alliance, our friendship." The meticulousness of the Solid Vision figure forming... the complexity of their plans...
Cubic, with its four cores, while it could refer to the Machine Emperors and their own cores... Could they represent each of the group? Zone being the red core, the heart and the fundamental gear of their mission... with Bruno and Paradox as his left and right hand, who had found Aporia, the last human survivor. Aporia, who stands below them (the lower core), who, as opposed to Paradox, Bruno and Zone, is led by his emotions, his despair, his sadness. He is the more "primal" member of their group.That, and he compensates like--- *shot*
Well, I'm happy you find my posts entertaining. I'm just spreading the love. XD;
I'm not too familiar with cyborg mechanics, but I'd assume the memories of their past selves could be ported. I mean, if Zone recreated them and they didn't remember their despair/hard times, what's the point? What would motivate them to act?
It could have been due to that change of the Tenors not being "too" significant, i.e. not affecting the timeline drastically. Or perhaps some incidents are just harder to change and affect than others, and more complicated plans are required. Zone probably launched everyone off on their respective ways in case any of them fails, that and he's testing all possibilities. And if it were that easy to change the past to change the future, they would have done it already.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Oh, why must Paradox be an old man in 5D's? There's nothing wrong with it, but I miss that good looking Paradox from the movie.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Something interesting to point out on the topic of the pods shown in the flasback...
I'm not sure how many of you actually watched the Noah filler arc in Duel Monsters, but something interesting to note about it is that Gozaburo transferred Noah's brain into a supercomputer. Noah claims "braincells work similar to electric circuits" and that is why they are able to be transferred through advanced technology.
I bring this up because Gozaburo was the first shown man in charge of Kaiba Corporation. When Kaiba took it over from him, naturally all technology and information went to his rights. Similarly, whether Kaiba is in Hawaii right now or is in his grave, it's obvious he no longer has anything to do with Kaiba Corporation, but it has continued and the Momentum could very well be a more advanced version of the same technology that used to exist. (With the addition of the Planetary Particle.) Perhaps, like Noah, ZONE is capable of using Momentum to transfer brainwaves into computer AI bodies. Only, unlike Noah's case, these are lifelike bodies maintaining human form.
That's an interesting thought, GoldenUmi! The Momentum does reflect the hearts of people, so with the right technology, memory transfer/transfer of personality is possible? Sort of like how Clear Mind produces Accel Synchro - if your mind is clouded with other thoughts, the process will fail.
Also, Ark is on a roll, so he began translating the dialogue from the movie Wiki. While I have made attempts to do so before, Ark's translation should be much more accurate~
I'd also like to note I'm only doing it to check over it for Arynis and Hisui's questions. Don't think of it as a completely accurate translation, and more of a guide to get the gist of it. (Also reminder, some dialogue might be missing or wildly inaccurate as this is all from people's memories and they don't have hard copies of the DVD.)
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Not all that surprising to see another release of the film in Japan. It must mean the international release is coming up soon, and I'm sure new scenes have been added after what we saw of Paradox in recent 5D's. Help it connect better and maybe see more of his take on about the ruined future and his full backstory because if that showed in 5D's, it may derail. But seeing it in the movie will help especially after now we can connect with the plot better.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
That would be good, yes. I can also imagine that people will look at the movie far differently now, given the new episodes of 5D's.
I think the first point answers the second. Paradox was reborn young. Or he pulled a Kagemaru. Whichever.I had been really surprised to see Paradox as a old man. Paradox appears young in the movie, saying he come from the destroyed future and in anime he is more older. That's interesting. How It is possible?
Another question, In supposing the man with glasses is Bruno, that's means Paradox is a robot or at least cybernetic also like Zone?
I don't think that's the word you want; but I'm uncertain myself.
Indeed. It really seems like somethung out of a fanfic. Maybe Konami has started outsourcing to the internet.
Hey look, it's a list of almost everything we've discounted for the past 10 months.
- I think the bikes with the transformation capabilities and the draconic decorations could be a giveaway.
- Then there are the similarities with the whole "fuse by the waist" method.
- Sin Paradox Dragon bears the Infinity sign, which, while very subtle, could be an evidence for his link to the Four.
- Paradox did taunt Yusei with the feeling of DESPAIR, just like Aporia does.
I still find it kind of strange that Paradox has so much more human eyes than the others though. Perhaps more of him is still human?And following the pattern with Aporia and Bruno, I believe that Paradox is, yes, also a cyborg, to an extent. But just like Bruno, he's probably just as subtle.
You're right. Oh my God, it's so obvious in hindsight.I did find one part odd in the movie, regarding Paradox.
The lines on Sin Truth's head upon the fusion also look like Tron Lines. Circuitry. The way his hair is "plugged" into the Dragon, as well.
As I stated earlier, perhaps Paradox made himself younger via technology. He could simply have wished for Zone to keep him alive with mechanical implants, not recreate him entirely.Though, how he became his younger self is a mystery for the time being. We know Aporia was split into three parts to stand by Zone's side, as the last remaining human who was taken in by them. We don't know if Bruno or Paradox had any last wishes prior dying. Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
I love this news. But, also, i would Love to point out what Google Translate says the title of the movie is:
the Japanese anime "Yu Wang ☆ ☆ foreplay" project was published as a series, the 10th anniversary of the King 10th Anniversary - The Movie Yu ☆ ☆ fusion foreplay super Ties across time and space ~]
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
"Yu" as in Yusei, Yugi, and Yuki Judai?So the three have get together across space and time for a foreplay session with their wangs?
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Whilst it still isn't enough to make it up to what most Americans watching the movie would call 'movie-length', 10 minutes is a pretty substantial amount of added screentime considering all that's packed into the 49 minutes already. However, the fact that this new footage is 2D pretty much means the new footage has to either come all at the start or all at the end, so as to make the jump between 2D and 3D less jarring. That pretty much guarantees it to be some kind of pre-movie Paradox backstory in my eyes, whether it be his adventures stealing the Dragons or his experiences in the ruined future.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
10 minutes of added footage, good news! His backstory, the beginning of his duel against Judai or even few turns more vs Team Protagonists are possible.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Sweet! So we have that confirmed as well. Yeah, I'll have to ... pretty much rehaul a lot of parts of the first two posts in the thread. XD;
I'm with Ryusaki, I'd definitely love to see more on Paradox. Maybe more backstory on his ties with Aporia, Zone and old!Bruno, with them promising to save the future in a similar manner we see the protagonists making the same promise later on. Just to rub in that Grey And Gray Morality more.
Also, Ark has been advancing with the dialogue translation (which shall be added in the summary section), so here they are!
Spoiler: Everything up until the end. Phew~!
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
So basically what could ten minutes do?
- Explain how Paradox stole his cards. This take less than two minutes.
- Explain Paradox's relationship with ZONE, Bruno and Aporia. Five minutes.
- Explain when did the movie take place. One minute.
- Explain why "Sin" cards and not "Shit" cards. Two minutes.
Yep. There goes your ten wonderful minutes.
10 minutes may not be a ton, but it does make it more worth it to go to a theater or buy the DVD. Would you of bought a DVD for something that was only 49 minutes for 20 bucks, and felt totally ok with that?
Called it.
Yes. This in spades.
February 26th you say? I assume it's be a little bit after that in Canada, but still... sounds good to me.
Okya, that's a good one.
I have some intense brain bleach with extremely high pH levels. Will that do?
Everything except the introduction thing I agree with. No need to spoil it for the American fans who don't know about the connection yet. Besides, as I'm sure you're suggesting, there are much better uses for that time brick.
This. That must happen.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Thank you all for informing us about the updates in the original movie website. I have to admit I started to lose hope that there will be any update soon. Thanks also for the new dialogue translation. I'm pleased with these 10 minutes additional screenings, although it's not much. Something really important for the plot still can be shown, if made in the right way.
Since the "new" version of the movie will air nation wide on Saturday, February 26th, 2011, I wonder when we'll see the official english trailer, and if any new japanese preview or something that will announce the new premiere will be shown at all? I hope that something like this will pop up somewhere around Christmas holidays.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
Yeah, Christmas sounds good for that. We had the huge wave of info/trailers starting from the beginning of December (Tamura's postrecording interview, the actual movie trailer, etc.). So if the movie would be re-released in February, I'd expect the first clues to pop up around Christmas.
In the meantime, I'm heavily updating and rehauling the information and summary posts in the beginning of the thread. I'll post when the updates are complete.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie ~Super Fusion! Bonds That Transcend Time~
If I remember when Paradox was first revealed, everyone hated his design. >_>
