And yeah, it's just the first chapter of the 5Ds manga, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut all it is is the duel itself. No flashbacks, no appearance by Ghost Rider Skeleton Knight. The "chapter" ends with Yusei pulling Sect up off the ground.

Could be for the same reason my cable company lists the Japanese casts instead of the dub's on multiple series, and sometimes uses Japanese characters in the descriptions. They just don't know any better. =w=;

You'd think that with the official, omg totally awesome movie, they'd take the time to correct it, though.. BUT I guess not. Eh.

That is just how DirecTV lists some random voice actors as Leo and Luna for every episode of 5Ds. It is where they get Amanda Brown as Leo and Keather Donohue as Luna, while it is really just Eileen Stevens.

Thanks, will do. I won't be cosplaying (I might be wearing one of my school shirts), but I will take my camera (or at least my horrible iPhone camera) just because you asked. Why am I up so late for EST (1 am right now, 12 hours to go till movie)? I slept for 5 hours already, from 5 to 11:30, meaning I have some down time until I can attempt to sleep again.

I will try my best to remember everything I hear, and I will come in this thread at 3 or 4, and start typing.

There is a little footage near the end, Crow's VA has definitely changed to Tom Wayland now, don't know if I will like it, perhaps today's episode will cement it for me. Will post back after the movie at 1 pm EST, perhaps at 3 or 4, but lets hope the forum maintenance won't get in the way.

Back home from watching the movie, and I have to say that I am very happy with what I saw. Went with two of my friends.

Malefic red-eyes! yay! (Even though I can get it in the movie pack ^_^')

I found myself laughing at some of the corny jokes that were said during the movie, animation was great, voice actors did a decent job. Sean's paradox voice was pretty good, it didn't bother me much and didn't seem forced.
-But throughout the whole movie Yusei was being his old season one self until the end (Yugi and Judai virus?)
-Judai was just there cracking jokes
-Yugi was there giving his pep talks.
-Venice scene was awesome!

The music was ok but I felt that the original OST would have made the movie a lot better( Subbed DVD please!)

If you guys have any questions about the movie just ask, I would be glad to answer. And yes I do feel like I got my moneys worth

Back from the movie.

Few points:

Spoiler: cc

• First 10 minutes do drag on, but it does use some unseen animation from the original Japanese openings. So that is a plus.
• Animation was awesome, and the music 4kids chose worked pretty well. Best part, there was silence when there needed to be. I don't think the OST would have made a big difference.
• That little gem about being upstaged was more about Paradox appearing than Pegasus about to die. He said it, then saw he was going to die, then commented something along the lines of "Oh no, the building!" and was pretty scared.
• The duel was pretty well paced, and it did have its good parts. I don't remember the whole course, but that line about it "eating the cake too" actually got a few laughs from the crowd watching.

Oh, I was very surprised the theater was so full, and not just of kids. In fact, I bet there were more teens than kids there.

What is Paradox's backstory like? The part where he talks about the ruined future when he's facing the three protagonists, before their duel. The Japanese Wiki only described it as "image video / clips", but that doesn't say much. What does that part show, exactly?

Or does it only show Paradox looking at the sun in the ruined future, and cards floating away from/towards the (red) Earth, supposedly turning it blue?*

I gotta dig deep into my mind, but from what I remember, he says how the future is a bad place, how it is in ruin. About how Time Travel was his only way, when there is a will, there is a way. Yusei comments on how the future is bright, but Paradox says it isn't. Yusei has a small side story about having a bad dream with Zero Reverse, which comes up a bit.

Basically, most of the scenes with Paradox that aren't in Domino City are from when he is in Venice, and only that one scene of his looking at the sky is him in the past. But, we do see the Earth, it is all rocky and no water. It looks just like what the vision Zone shows would be after all the Cybernetics would be destroyed.

Sorry if I am remembering this wrong, I had to dig deep to remember this.

The theater on my end wasn't exactly full (about half capacity maybe?) But it was full of teens and adults. Barely a kid in sight. That and the older guys were yelling "YU-GI-OOOOOOOOOOH!!" at some parts in the movie. It didn't really bother me, since it was lulzy.

We didn't really laugh at the jokes either, more of a chuckle/groan "Did they really say that..." kind of deal. Still funny though.

Best part, as some people are exiting the theater:

"The show's called Yu-Gi-Oh! Not Ja-Den-Oh or Yu-Sei-Oh! Hey guys, wanna go and play some Yu-Sei-Oh? We're gonna need some motorbikes!" LAWL.

The movie itself was okay, for a dub. I liked some of the music 4Kids used (I gotta say, I remember how passable some of GX's dub music was now) and I think the theme that plays in 5D's whenever Yusei Synchro Summons got a remix for the movie (When he summoned Stardust right after the movie's title screen).

A minor thing about the cards: I know they're edited, but at some points the card editing is pretty decent. In all of the anime's episode, the cards are edited without any kind of black outline--or having any signs of depth at all. But the cards are actually edited with some sort of effort put into them.

And I think they missed a cards here and there, though I can't confirm.

This is a fault of the Japanese movie, since the dub movie uses the Japanese stat counters, but sometimes Monsters have their stats shown without the levels added in.
