Wow, you guys are really productive with the summaries/impressions! Thank you very much, everyone. I'm glad to see the movie has been well received, and also that people have had a lot of fun! ^_^

    Also, a mod friendly reminder.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT ask when the movie will be online, or when it will be recorded and obtained in any way. This thread is for DISCUSSING the movie. This is NOT a download forum. If you live in the USA, please support the movie and go see it if it is possible for you to do so. If you live in other parts of the world, please BE PATIENT. I understand waiting can be really hard for some (I live in Europe, myself), but it is how things are, and repeatedly asking for the movie WILL SOLVE NOTHING and will not move the discussion forward at all, COUNTING AS SPAM.

If I see anyone asking for the movie's (illegal) Internet release or where can it be downloaded, YOU WILL BE GIVEN AN INFRACTION. No exceptions.

I am also adding the above notice to the first post of the thread, so it won't go unnoticed.

I wish I could see the movie. Where can I find a listing of theater release locations?

EDIT: Never mind, saw first post.

is it bad that I didnt have as much fun watching the movie as I did laughing at the only 3 cosplayers

with that being said I can remember parts of the movie and in my oppinion it was better than PoL

the one part of the movie that seemed to stick out was Paradox's story where he pretty much said that the world of the future was bad and that he wears a mask so that he dosent have to look at it and that it helped him see duel monsters as something evil or something crazy like that

which leads me to belive that, the Paradox in the movie is the real deal not an android like bruno/dark glass

That is not possible. We have confirmation from the series director that the future Paradox comes from is 200 years in the future, and we have clearly seen him being old and dying as a human. The only way he is young and kicking again is that he has been remade as a cyborg, just like Aporia and Antinomy. I would guess his cybernetic features are not shown in the movie because that would spoil his connection to Aporia and the group. Besides, Antinomy is pretty human-like as well, sans the Red Eyes Of Doom.

Alternately, Paradox was meant to be a human all along, and Yoshida just injected him into the story later on, from which we draw that he's been a cyborg like the others all along. However, I find this unlikely as Yoshida stated in the Animation Book interview that Paradox's "true colors" would be revealed in future episodes of 5D's. Meaning that he may have been planning it all along.

but from the scene it shows and how paradox was running his mouth it could have been before he grew old and died that is also a possability ,ALSO it never states how paradox met Z-one in the anime it just said he sent him back in time so it could have been before he met anthonimy and aporia and like I said died

Bravo 4KID'S, this time you didn't screw the things up - even with your strange jokes. [which still doesn't justify why everyone is making fun of Yugi's hair! xD]
And since the music was also acceptable, this is nice thing to hear. x)

Btw, I think the idea of 'death' was removed from the duel since Paradox says that their 'souls' are on the line. They never actually say on killing Pegasus and such, just 'taking him down' and such. I would say Paradox was still well shown in the dub, just like how it was supposed to make you feel unsure if he was good or bad, in the end. His voice was solid, and glad they had him speak mannerly and properly as it was supposed to be. Safe bet to say that Paradox was still treated very well, Arynis so no worries there!

How does that even make sense? If Zone sent Paradox back much earlier, then why do we see him dying by Zone's side later? Paradox offered himself as a sacrifice for the summoning of Sin Truth Dragon, destroying his D-Wheel, which allowed him to travel in time, in the process. Even if Paradox were to miraculously survive after the duel, there would be no way for him to go back to his own time period.

The movie doesn't imply that Paradox survived, did it? He must have gotten blasted to death by Stardust Dragon's attack, going down with Sin Truth Dragon.

here's a quote from yugioh wikia about the japanese version

"Paradox wonders if his experiments were a mistake and disappears once more"

from what this says he survived the attack

and here's the whole article if you would like to read over it

Yugioh Wikia can be edited by anyone. So it can be someone who speculated that and thus wrote that. And thus, that doesn't make it right or correct.

Thanks, dude. At least I have one person in the same shoes as me On the other hand, I bought a Movie Pack today (ironically Singapore has it) and the artwork of the Sin cards combined with ScR foils is damn sick (see my post at The Card Lounge thread for photo).

The Japanese Wiki movie summary mentions in a duel with Sin World, when your Life Points become 0, you die.

I got the movie pack yesterday also however the movie isn't released in my country. Thanks Konami!

    Unfortunately Paradox didn't so it's a bluff.

Oh my god, at least you are appreciating Konami. I'm mourning over my $$ now as it's 3 times more expensive than a normal Extreme Victory pack in my country. Luckily, the sick artwork made up for it.

Did I just went off-topic? Oh well, I should go to the CCGN section.

I'd say Paradox being "real" would make sense. After all, revealing his cybernetic properties would spoil his connection to Aporia and the others too early, thus making the plot of 5D's go down in flames quite fast.

And yeah, what Allana noted. You could say it was pretty much the equivalent of a Game of Darkness. Sort of.

Hungary doesn't have the Movie Pack yet. B(

Ah? The movie pack hasn't been released in all Europe in same time? So Paradox is...real, not cybernetic?

I didn't mean "real" in the literal sense, Allana. Paradox is a cyborg just like Aporia and Antinomy, most likely.

Considering Antinomy and Aporia are cyborgs, it is a logical conclusion he's a robot with the after the fact information. However, his being revealed as a robot would of exposed a lot of plot line information far earlier than the YGO anime team would of wanted it to be exposed.

Well, as an additional follow up. I don't believe anything implicitly says Paradox is a robot/android. However, if you take the context of the movie with the flashbacks from the TV Show, it's one of those "logical leaps" that you come to a conclusion to.

    Spoiler: Durp Durp
We did see Paradox pass away as an old man. And both his colleagues are robots. So what's stopping him from being one. But also, as well, for all intensive purposes, Paradox IS the real Paradox, just in a metal body. :T

As far as I know, there is no An-Manga planned at this time. But it's one of those possibilities we could see down the line.

If anything, I bet the DVD will come out first (read as: binded together with full English/Chinese subs and one Ultra Rare "Stardust Mirage" promo) before the manga/novel even comes out.

*shot* Alright, I should be more serious. I understand this movie is no laughing matter.

Anyway, back on track, what's the additional footage in the Japanese showing all about? I know it's about ZeXal, but what new things are showcased?

Here's what Yugioh 5D's World says about the movie:

     遊戯王の放送10周年を記念したアニメ「10th アニバーサリー 劇場版 遊戯王~超融合!時空を越えた絆~」のアンコール上映が本日から始まりました。以下の公式サイトで作品の情 報を確認できます。

Actually, the movie pack is at the same price as a normal pack in my country. Sin Cyber End Dragon's artwork is my favorite. ^^

does anyone have any funny stories when they went to see this movie?

mine would have to be the 3 cosplayers dressed as yugi, jaden and yusei and yelling "get your game on" while at the snack bar
than the woman at the snack bar asking why me and my friend didnt dress up and me pretty much saying "I dont look like Paradox"
then filling bad that I bulit a Malefic deck

I hope we'll soon find out. I thought we'll see more ZeXal scenes in JamBANG's show, but alas, we saw very little. I hope this aditional footage will show more and someone, somewhere will be able to record it or something. x) But speaking for ZeXal isn't much on-topic, now is it? xD

Solely reading the typed synopsis made me want to give it a 4/5. Whether it will turn better or worse depends on after I watched the movie DVD (again, read as: binded with Chinese/English subs with a "Reincarnation of Hope" promo card).

the only problem I see with the movie is it's length and the jokes so for me to get it on DVD it would not have to be $20 or if that's the case the promo is like really awesome

The Encore Screenings of the 10th Anniversary Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie started today.
The 10th Anniversary Film "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Super Fusion! Bonds Beyond Time" began its encore screenings today. More information can be found at the official site.
    - Link to the Yu-Gi-Oh! 10th Anniversary Movie Website
The contents of this film airing are the same as the ones seen by the public in 2010. However, a special video of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal" was aired at the Encore Screenings. I hear those who came to the screenings got a "Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal" Photo as a gift. There are 3 different kinds of pictures. The pictures are given at random.

I'd pay that though, easier to stomach than the 140 boxed sets. Hope it gets released with English subs (not hopeful as the boxed sets don't).

I can't go see the film until it's out in DVD in none 3D as a result of having one eye mate.

Wow!! I'd not seen that, thanks Cohen. I'd imagine it would either tie in with the Easter holidays or half term in May. I'm excited now

I'd still buy the Japanese DVD though as I'm so used to watching everything in Japanese now. Actually, watching the movie in the cinema would be weird will them all speaking English and that.

I would save my money for when the English hits DVDs, hoping for a bilingual release. If not, then download the DVD rip, as the DVD in Japan will probably be 40 UDS, or about 30 pounds.

I would guess his cybernetic features are not shown in the movie because that would spoil his connection to Aporia and the group. Besides, Antinomy is pretty human-like as well, sans the Red Eyes Of Doom.
Not to the same extent as Paradox though. The telling feature for me is his eyes - they reflect light and have white centres, unlike all the Android eyes (which, to be fair, doesn't make a lot of sense either, but I guess there needs to be a way to set them apart). Also, Paradox does not fuse into his D-Wheel as the Emperors did (though to be fair, neither did Antimony), and he shows no strange abilities outside of the effect which even some humans have - Manifest Duel Monsters.

200 years is confirmed, is it?

Alternately, Paradox was meant to be a human all along, and Yoshida just injected him into the story later on, from which we draw that he's been a cyborg like the others all along. However, I find this unlikely as Yoshida stated in the Animation Book interview that Paradox's "true colors" would be revealed in future episodes of 5D's. Meaning that he may have been planning it all along.
Yeah, but keep in mind he could've just said that to cover his ass in case an illogical plot twist comes up. It's not the most likely answer, but it certainly sounds like something a person involved in 5D's would do, if the chaotic nature of the script and storyline is anything to go by.

Oh yes, one more thing of note. Maddie Blaustein was indeed listed in the credits in the voice talents.
Now, though Grandpa's voice was a good one, if you really listened to it, you could tell it wasn't her.

I can't remember if Grandpa spoke in the 10 minute intro; I can only recall the three main protags, Kaiba, and maybe Pegasu-- Oh wait, I just remembered.

There was a Sartorious scene in the intro. lol Ah well, I typed this out all already, so I might as well hit the post button. :3

Sartorious did indeed have Maddie's voice, which is probably why she was listed. Gandpa had some generic old guy sounding voice, but it got the job done.

If he wanted to, he would have auditioned. It isn't like a director goes "I like that voice, let him do it". They have to try out or else they won't get a chance.

Not always, sometimes they can talent pull and get people in directly to audition. Often studios approach agents asking if people are interested in using them for an audio role.
